What do your teens wear for pirate night? DH and I have costumes, but DD13 and DS16 don't really want to wear full costumes. I'd love any suggestions!

I went simple for our sons: got khaki pants at the thrift store and cut them off (rough edge), black & white striped mock turtleneck shirt (mine), rope belt, pirate bandana.

Any crazy colorful clothing, all black. If it is the Wonder or Magic even a rock shirt would be appropriate (The show has a slight rock n' roll theme)

Why not just pirate TShirts? There are a ton of shirt sites out there with funny ones. I have a few.

I've seen Pittsburgh Pirates tshirts (and even uniforms), Dread Pirate Roberts shirts (and costumes), and much, much more. The cool thing about a TShirt, though, is that they can wear it all the time at home too.

They could also Disneybound. I Disneybound as Smee on occasion with a blue striped shirt, teal shorts, red baseball cap and flip flops. I've seen Capt. Hook Disneybounding as well.

OK, I feel stupid for asking but what does the word Dineybound mean? Just dressing up as a character or is there more to it? Thanks

Thanks for the tips! I found DD a "Why be a princess when you can be a pirate" shirt, which is perfect because she has always hated being called princess at WDW!

DS might go for the simple shirt/shorts/sash. Or we might just do a simple pirate shirt.

Our kids wear pirate T Shirts. One year the Hard Rock on Grand Cayman had pirate themed Hard Rock T's and that's what they wore. I get dressed up as Captain Jack, Wife wears a pirate scarf, 15 and 11 yo boys wear skull shirts with the bandannas that are given out.

Good thing about this is we wear it to dinner and not get dressed up that night!

After eight DCL cruises, most with Pirate Night, we have seen everything from just a bandana and eye patch to the full outfit, like someone just stepped off a "Pirates of the Caribbean" set. Like the movie states, there are no rules...just guidelines. My outfit includes a parrot (mostly stuffed) and he gets the pirate treatment...eye patch, tattoo, wooden leg, sword, bandana, etc. So, take it any direction you want. It's a hoot to see 2-year-olds with a beard meeting Jack Sparrow. Also, since Pirate Night includes a buffet just an hour or so after dinner, we take a camera and photograph the carved fruit and decorations included with it.

My teen daughters wore "pirate themed" sundresses on our first Pirate night. They purchased the dresses at Hot Topic. One dress was black with little skull and cross bones all over it and the other was red with black feathers that she decided made it look like a Captain Hook dress. On our most recent cruise, my oldest (16 at the time) wore a red off the shoulder dress with long billowy sleeves (it was from the Pirates of the Caribbean line of clothes at Kohl's.) My 13 year old work a longish red ruffled skirt (also from the Kohl's POC line) and an off the shoulder white blouse. They also work some big "gold" jewelry that looked like coins on one and gold hoops on the other. (Another Kohl's find in the jewelry clearance section.) Captain Hook tried to steal the necklace off on one of them and Minnie Mouse kept pointing at their jewelry. Pirates like gold!

If only my daughter would wear a dress! She refuses to wear a dress to the dining room for formal night, let alone as a costume! We have been searching for something decent for her to wear for dinners, and we have not found anything. She lives in athletic shorts/pants and t-shirts. Ugh!!
