Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

For the person asking about breakfast - also check out the menu at the Garden Grove Cafe at the Swan. If you are staying at the Boardwalk, the Swan is closer than the Dolphin.

I really wanted to try the Garden Grove for weekday breakfast our next trip but can't seem to get an ADR. Upon checking, you can get breakfast up to Jan 6 2018, but starting on Jan 7 2018 neither breakfast nor lunch is available as a choice and only dinner hours are available to choose.

Are they only taking walk-ups, getting rid of breakfasts, or can you only get a reservation if you call?

Well, our family loved the BWV so much this past summer that I just booked another stay there for May 28 - June 3, 2018. It's going to be a surprise Christmas present for them. Oddly enough my son was just saying on the way to church today "I wish we could go back to Disney World soon". And this from a 19 year-old who mostly complains about every family outing we force him to endure! Can't wait to spring the surprise on all of them in 36 days. Now to figure out how to change my countdown ribbon at the bottom of my page!

We also struggled with this! However, we did enjoy breakfast twice at Trattoria al Forno. We walked up for the "other room" breakfast and had no problem getting a seat. Bacon, eggs, potatoes and a croissant for a reasonable price. Service was great! I'd highly recommmend it! We happened to be on the dining plan though so we had quite a few leftover quick service credits since we didn't do any QS meals at the resort.

Does anyone know if the non-character breakfast at Trattoria al Forno is a Tables in Wonderland location. It's listed but only shows the Character Breakfast. Couldn't find a menu for the walk-in breakfast. I'm trying to do some number crunching to see if it is worth it for me to get a TIW or not.

Also, what about room service? Are there any discounts applicable for it?

The Taverna room at Trattoria is walk-up only. Yes, it is a TIW location. You check-in inside the Trattoria entrance. The non-character Breakfast is in the restaurant’s private room which only has a handful of tables (8 to 10; Wish I counted the # of tables). The menu cost ranges from about $8 to $18 for breakfast entrees.

I can’t answer about room service.

I am ok with the 3 hour pick.up time...but 4 :confused3 ..that should inly apply to international travelers maybe...lol......we have never needed that much of a window to get from the resort to the gate...

I knew what you meant! CL has 2 views..Standard and BWV...but thanks for the clarification any way! :goodvibes...and for sharing lots of good info too....

We have never had a boardwalk view room..and I'm looking forward to your pics :thumbsup2....

I assume your abbreviation is boardwalk view, not the me commonly accepted Boardwalk Villas?

I've stayed at the BWI twice and love the resort and Epcot area but I have a question about the standard rooms.
Are their ground level standard rooms? Now that both myself and my husband have to use scooters to get around we are hopeing to avoid the use of the elevators as much as possible on our next trip.
TIA

For the Inn (not Villas), you would not want a ground floor with the scooters. Especially with two. You would have to take an elevator to the second floor, go to a second elevator close to the lounge, then go downstairs to the Boardwalk. The second floor would have the exit to the busses. But to get to EPCOT or DHS via the Boardwalk, you have to go to the second floor for the elevator down to the Boardwalk. It is frustrating, because I love the Inn except for this. I travel with 2 people with ECV’s. When we stay here, we request second floor near lobby, this only dealing with one elevator, but we have been staying at Beach Club lately, because you can be on ground floor and not deal with elevators at all.
Hope this helps and that you have a great vacation. The Inn is a great place and this thread is wonderful!

Thank you so much for your reply, I guess we most likely will not be able to return to our beloved BWI due to the elevator situation. I've used an ECV since 2012 but my husband did not until our trip last week he just can not do the walking any longer.

He did not realize he needed one until our second day at the YC and our room being on the 3rd floor was a bit of a hassle to use the elevator with the 2 ECV's but we decided to next time ground floor room it would be.

Does the Inn side still have the small bottles of toiletries in the rooms or have they gone to the shower dispenser on the wall?

24 hours from now, I'll be landing at MCO and on our way to The Boardwalk for our first ever stay there. Super excited ! Now all we have to do is pack without tipping the kids off as to where we're going (they think we're just flying to Chicago for a couple days). Someone stop by the Belle Vue and tell them to stock up on cocktail supplies.

Thought I'd share this here....I just saved $563.00 on a trip that's starting just 15 days from now!

Holy Cow! Really feeling blessed this holiday season. Way back when, I booked BWI, Deluxe Room, Club Level. I was able to get the Magical Holiday rate of roughly $660 a night. Periodically I've played around on MDE, checking to see if an AP rate would come out. No luck...until today! I was able to drop the price from $4508.00 to $3944.00! So don't give up....keep checking MDE!

That's Great ! I've been bird-dogging MDE every day for 6 months to see if I could score that discount for part of my trip this week ... no luck. Glad to know those rates actually do exist though !

Hello! Looking forward to our second BWI stay next week (our sixth or seventh WDW trip in 5 years)!

Can anyone who has gone in the last few weeks share what order the magical express is running from the airport to the resorts? We are arriving late-ish and may take a taxi or Uber if Boardwalk is the last stop... I know it can change but we’ve found that there’s usually a certain order more often than not. Thanks!

Have you considered using a TA? *** (I use Holly) had a much better rate than AP. I am at BWI Dec 19-26 and my rate is 337.50, total 2362.50 for the 7 nights. I moved to BWI from Swan when I saw this. Unbelievable rate.
