Once we were in line, the girls started there traditional fight over who got to ride with me... Andy suggested they go together. They loved this idea, and I held my breathe to see if they were going to be able to. We told the girls if they wanted to ride together THEY had to ask. So, when we got to the front of the line, Morgan started to ask, but she is soon shy she was whispering. So Gwen pipped up and ask. The CM asked how old they were, they said 9 and 7 and that seemed to be a good enough answer. They were SO excited!
How awesome they got to ride together!!!!!!! Wonder if it was the 7 or the 9 that did the trick. Casey almost always wants to ride with Jason, but she'd love to ride by herself if that was an option.

I mean look at Morgan's smile, she was so excited to be a big kid and not be "stuck" with the yucky parents.
She is absolutely beaming!!!!!! Must be special to be so grown up

There was no wait for this. This always makes me laugh, as it had 2 hour waits our first trip and had just opened.
Funny we were in Disneyland when the one out there opened and the waits were the same. Now a 5 minute wait seems long :-)

So, I have NEVER seen these before. And of course my first thought was how much of a pain it probably is to push that thing! Well, I just looked up how much it cost to rent one... $299 a DAY!!!! Yikes. If your not scared off by the price here's there website. https://www.princesscarriagerentals.com I am sure that and a Bippity Bobbity Boutique makeover would def make a magical day.
We saw one of these on our last trip and I thought someone had just made it themselves. $299 is insane!!!!! I cannot believe someone paid that

Finally the CM put them out of there misery and suggested he give them one of each! They also got a sticker from a CM standing outside of the Main Street Bakery.

What a great cast member. Hope they enjoyed their first visits on their honeymoon and birthdays :P

Northwest Berry Whip (Alcoholic)
with Zodiac Black Cherry Vodka
Yum, that whip looks great. I'm sure it was perfection on a hot Disney day

You are really making me miss WL. Good thing we will be back in 232 Days...lol.
Jealous!!!!

I still miss the Grapefruit ones
I was wondering if they changed them at all the resorts or if the deluxe just got new ones.

You know it’s one of my favorite things!
It's just so relaxing... How could you not?

We loved this but I think we only got one as well.
They need to have these at the pool bars, we would have gotten the girls one each day we were at the pool.

Aww, I think you guys look great!
Thanks! It didn't help that we had the sun in our eyes as well.

Those shirts are very cute, where on Etsy did you get them?
I ordered them from HeritageKidDesigns You could have gotten names under them, but I get weird about having my girls name on there shirts where anyone can then pretend they know them. But the shirts were nice quality and they sent them in a drawstring backpack with the same image on it. A nice little touch.

That would be so frustrating, especially at night when you're tired.
Luckily the elevators weren't bad at night. We were willing to go down 6 flights of stairs but NOT up!

I am always meaning to take the hidden path and always forget, although I don't really want to be by smokers so I guess that is a good thing.
Sounds like it might be for the best. Def smoker central.

I FINALLY made it over to read and comment!
:welcome:Glad you made it over!!! I hope everyone is healthy again. I know you guys had some illness in your house. (Morgan is sick again, ugh)

Cute! I really want a few pairs for winter!
And now you can, you will have a real winter this year! You ready for it?

Me too! When I saw the price tag I was like, nope! So we hid them.
Glad I am not the only one. ;)

My husband loved it too, I had zero interested.
I only ate one tiny piece of the candied bacon. It was good, but I didn't need a whole donut full.

Wow! I wonder if it was to do with the storm.
Who knows! It also doesn't make sense why they don't have another set of 2 elevators at the end closest to the water...

We skipped that one too, I hate it. I understood it might be going the way of Mr. Toad...?
Mr. Toad, interesting. That could be cool. But how does that fit into Tomorrowland? I guess it is on the boarder of Fantasyland. It needs updated badly. It smells terrible!

Being a good parent is hard when so many folks let their kids do whatever they want.
YES! I am constantly telling the girls, that I can't control other people's kids only them. I am pretty sure they HATE this answer when I give it to them.

Lol! Oh no, are you enter that phase already?!
Not quite.... She still loves me coming to her school parties and stuff but it is coming. 9 has been a strange time, she isn't a little kid anymore but she isn't ready for make up and high fashion...

What?! No way!
Yup, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train wasn't open yet. Nor was the Princess Meet and Greet area. I don't think it lasted long, but it was def a fastness ride that year! It was also before fast pass plus! (Back in the olden days)

That was something to do with the storm. That portion of the castle had a lot of debris the days after Irma. The wall went up while we were there.
Interesting. It really is surprising that more wasn't damaged.

Glad I’m all caught up! I gotta get rolling on mine or you’ll be done before me!:thumbsup2
Last trip report I lost steam at some point. SO, I am hoping to keep it moving so that doesn't happen again.

How awesome they got to ride together!!!!!!! Wonder if it was the 7 or the 9 that did the trick. Casey almost always wants to ride with Jason, but she'd love to ride by herself if that was an option.
We need to go at the same time, then Casey can ride with Gwen! Was Casey tall enough for the rollercoasters in Hersey?

She is absolutely beaming!!!!!! Must be special to be so grown up
Little does she know...

We saw one of these on our last trip and I thought someone had just made it themselves. $299 is insane!!!!! I cannot believe someone paid that
I don't even know how you would get it to the park, it was HUGE!!

Hope they enjoyed their first visits on their honeymoon and birthdays :P
The honeymoon & just hitched cracked me up. They were super excited to have a "full" collection.

And now you can, you will have a real winter this year! You ready for it?

We’re getting ready, still have a few items we will need for the heavier snow.

Mr. Toad, interesting. That could be cool. But how does that fit into Tomorrowland? I guess it is on the boarder of Fantasyland. It needs updated badly. It smells terrible!

Oh, no, I wish I meant they were gonna turn it into Mr. Toad! No, I meant that it will be replaced, as Mr. Toad’s was. I heard something about a Tron coaster, but that it maybe wouldn’t actually effect the track, so I’m not even sure now.

Are you talking about the Speedway? If so, yes, there were rumors it would be going away but in the concept art for the Tron Coaster, it is still there. They will probably just update it to match the Tron theming.

That’s what I’m talking about.

Cool! I’d be glad to see an update there. Tomorrowland is all due for an upgrade, honestly.

Hi Folks! It is a beautiful day here in South Jersey and the girls are playing outside. So, I am going to try and get a post up while they are doing that. Hopefully, I can get enough typed that is worth posting!

Day One: Ohana!

So, I left off that we went back to the room to rest a bit and shower. We had a dining reservation at Ohana for dinner! I was looking forward to this a lot! I knew it was going to cut our Hollywood Studios time short but I really wanted to try this out. Would it be worth it?

We left Wilderness Lodge around 3:00. Actually as we were pulling out on the boat, we could see the geyser going off, so it might have been exactly 3:00.

We decided to take the boat from Wilderness Lodge to the Contemporary and then hop on the monorail from there around to the Polynesian.

As we were walking from the boat into the Contemporary, we came across the Mickey Statue that I have seen so many people take there picture in front (or on). So, I had us stop.

First the girls.. (like how Gwen is posing in Mickey's ear... )

And then we gave the girls the cameras and took this one.

After our photo opt we continued on! We had to go through security to get on the monorail, which I didn't think about but was no big deal. Thank goodness, that we didn't have to do it at Wilderness Lodge as well. Hoped on our one and only ride on the Monorail and were over at the Polynesian in no time. I think it took us a total of 25 minutes! not bad.

We had not seen the new lobby yet. The last time we were here, it was a giant construction tube.

I honestly don't know how I feel about it. it's def not the same now, but the giant waterfall was so big and it kind of smelt funny. Guess it doesn't really matter.. it is what it is!

We checked in and they gave us a pager. (we had a 3:35 reservation). So we walked over to peek in the gift shop. Andy's sister asked us to look for a Hei Hei as they didn't have any when she was here. Sadly no Hei Hei. But of course the girls found plush they wanted. It was something that I knew for sure was ALL over property, so I said we needed to wait. They didn't like this answer but they dealt with it.

At 3:40 our beeper went off and we headed in to be seated. And we were taken to a table with this view!!!!!

It was a perfect view! You could see the castle and space mountain! Gwen was obsessed with the Volcano Pool. She really wants to stay there now. I said you and me both! Start saving your pennies!

Our Auntie (waitress) left us some of the bread & butter to start.

This was just ok to me. Morgan and Andy really liked it. I knew what was coming and I think I was just saving room for the good stuff!

Auntie came back to take our drink orders, and she didn't give us a menu which I thought was odd. But thankfully I knew EXACTLY what I wanted....

Lapu Lapu
Myers’s Original Dark Rum and Tropical Fruit Juices served in a fresh Pineapple topped with Gosling's 151 Rum

It was sooooo good! I wish I could of had 2! But it was strong! Also, it leaked a lot! I couldn't decide if it was the drink itself of just the juices of the pineapple. I ended up using my little bread plate to put the whole thing on and that worked out well.

The girls were SUPER jealous that my drink came in a pineapple. They really should have a kid drink that comes in one, they could charge an arm and a leg for it, people would order it... I know I would get suckered into it for the girls...

One more pic of my beloved drink! Ha! Also, I think I look old in this pic... Sigh...

Andy ordered a Kona Brewery Beer (I think).

Shortly they brought over our salad.

I really liked this! I don't remember what the dressing was, but it had a crunch to it with the crispy wontons on it acting as croutons. I think it had edamame in it, which I love and if I remember correctly, the dressing was sweet but not overly sweet. I do have to say the dressing wasn' evenly distributed but that actually worked out well. Morgan will eat salad but not with dressing on it. She eats it dry! So, I was able to give her a little because she was STARVING!!!!! And crabby!!!

Not to long after they brought out the "appetizers"

This is what I was waiting for! This dish represents something everyone in our family likes... It was like it was meant for us!

The Sticky Wings were Morgan's favorite! And she doesn't eat wings!

It's not the best picture but I had to get a photo of her eating the wing. Personally the wings were just ok for me. I remember the sticky wings at Kona Cafe benign better, but they weren't terrible.

The Potstickers were mine and Gwen's favorite. I am pretty sure I ate my weight in them! They drizzled some sort of sauce on them, that I really liked. I did have to find the ones with little to no sauce on them for Gwen. I am sure I could have asked for some without, if I really needed to.

The noodles were dry! They needed some sauce as well. And again, I could have asked for some of the sauce on the potstickers but I just didn't have room for noodles also. But the dry noodles were good for both of the girls. Nice a plain.

And the veggies in the bowl were well cooked, we like our veggies still slightly crispy and that was what these were! It was nice to get at least some veggies in the girls too. They love broccoli.

And then they started bringing around the meat! And Auntie started with Beef and Morgan's Eyes got soon big. She loves a nice tender piece of red meat! So when she was asked how many, she said 3!

Sorry, for the picture, it is hard to get a good pic at this point in the meal, the meats come out separately and you just keep eating and eating...

The Beef was the best for me. Chicken had a good fire cooked smell to it. And the Shrimp was good. Nothing special about the Shrimp just good. Morgan ate a little of all of it. Gwen collected a lot of food on her plate and ate a teen tiny bit. Andy ate a ton! Auntie kept loading him up.

Apparently cutting meat takes 2 children.. Big Sis helping little Sis.

But I was filling up fast! I did ask for just 1 or 2 more potstickers, and they brough out this!

Basically an appetizer sized portion! I felt bd, I think I only ate 2 more..

Somewhere in the meats, they started the games. So, the girls got up to play the coconut broom game.

It was a lot of kids and of a cluster. But the girls liked it, and really that is what it is for...

Morgan did want a prize at the end. And I had to break it to her, that it was just a fun game. no prize kid.

Finally we decided to call it quits on the dinner portion of our meal. I think a table over had gotten there dessert and Morgan and Andy were SUPER excited about this.

The girls were in awe of the presentation of the carmel being poured over the bread pudding. I am pretty sure they actually said oooohhhhh while she was doing it.

This was soon good. It had a little bit of something for all of us again. I am not a big bread pudding person, but the crunch top part with the carmel and ice cream was perfect for me. And Morgan and Andy could eat soggy bread pudding all day long. So they ate most of that. And Gwen just hate some of the vanilla ice cream.

I remember thinking that the portion size looked kind of small. It was just about perfect for the 4 of us after all the other food we just ate. Not sure if you have 5 or 6 if you would get 2 or what they would do. They also brought out Rice Krispie Treat Squares for the girls. Which is also what Gwen ate. Which was perfect. Seriously, how much marshmallow and rice krispees does Disney go through!?!?

This was a great meal for us. We all really loved it and Andy said it was one of his new favorite places to eat! So, it was well worth it. But it was getting late and we had fast passes to get to! So, we paid and headed out.

We were headed to Hollywood Studios for the evening! But I think I will save that for the next post! So, next up our VIP experience!

Hasn't this weather been great??? A bit chilly in the morning but so beautiful during the day. So glad it's going to be nice for my stepsons wedding tomorrow but also very weird to still be so warm in late Oct!

We decided to take the boat from Wilderness Lodge to the Contemporary and then hop on the monorail from there around to the Polynesian.
Did you guys love the boat?? Steve and I do, it's such a pretty ride and so relaxing.

And then we gave the girls the cameras and took this one.
Love it

Yeah, baby :dancer:

I'm not the biggest 'Ohana fan but the apps (potstickers) are my favorite part of the meal :goodvibes

And Morgan and Andy could eat soggy bread pudding all day long.
OK, now that just makes me go "ew"! lol

Very fun reading your trip report.
Thanks! Welcome!!!

Cool! I’d be glad to see an update there. Tomorrowland is all due for an upgrade, honestly.
Whatever they do, the need to do something! It is one big air pollution! The idea is good. Letting kids drive cars, but can we not kill the environment at the same time?!

WL was the first place we stayed in LOVED IT.
We really love it!

You guys to experience lots of fun Disney transportation between the boat and the monorail!
Just wait! Spoiler Alert... We take a car to Hollywood Studios and the bus back! I think that is every type of transportation!

Did you guys love the boat?? Steve and I do, it's such a pretty ride and so relaxing.
I think the boat is what has us coming back there the most! It is just that, so relaxing! And fast!

OK, now that just makes me go "ew"! lol
Ha. You and me both.

Ohanas is a favorite of ours too! And the Lapu Lapu:).
I am so glad we finally got to try it! I could totally go for a Lapu Lapu right now...

What an awesome meal at Ohana. It looks like you had the best table in the whole place! Glad to hear you all enjoyed it, especially the Lapu Lapu :drinking1 I had one a few years ago and I think I may still be tipsy from it.

Your meal looks incredible too. I'm a sucker for pot stickers so you and I could eat our weight together! I've only done Ohana one and it was twenty years ago when my brother was on the college program. I've seen it pop up as a last minute option many times and I now have absolutely no idea why we haven't done it. One of these days!

It was beautiful weather yesterday! Perfect for a wedding! The pictures on Facebook looked great! I hope it was a wonderful time!

I can see how Ohana is so polarizing. There isn't much of a choice. If you don't like that stuff, you are pretty much out of luck.

It looks like you had the best table in the whole place!
It really was! And we will forever be spoiled. We will never get that table again. If you were trying to watch the fireworks from there, it would have been perfect!

. I've seen it pop up as a last minute option many times and I now have absolutely no idea why we haven't done it. One of these days!
I will have to keep an eye out for a last minute reservation! It is crazy trying o get a reservation! You should try it again, if nothing else for the Lapu Lapu! Ha!

Hi Everyone!
Happy Sunday! We are being lazy this morning, everyone is sitting in the living room with their iPads watching items of choice. (ESPN for DH, 2 different episodes of Liz & Maddie for the girls) That leaves me to hopefully write something on here!

***************I have to interrupt this Trip Report for some exciting news!!!!********************

We are going back to Disney in FEBRUARY!!! Woo Hoo! If you you didn't follow my PTR, the original plan was to have both this Sept trip and the Feb trip. And then we started rethinking the vacation budget and Feb became on the chopping block. But we talked about it and decided to do this Feb trip on the "cheap" No dinning plan, mostly counter service meals, a moderate hotel, no special parties... Which I am totally fine with because we will be in DISNEY!

February has become our regularly scheduled time of year to go, it gets us out of the cold for a little and it is a nice temp in Florida. Since we are doing this trip on the cheap, I won't be doing a pre trip report. So, I will probably sprinkle a couple things in here maybe after I finish this trip report.

Anyway, we leave Wednesday, January 31st and come home Wednesday, February 7th. We picked afternoon flights this time, so no getting in super late, no needing to get our luggage before getting on magical express... But went with Wednesday to Wednesday to save some $$$ on airfare.

We have 7 nights and 6 full days at Disney. And we plan on getting 5 day Tickets. (no park hopping this time) Which will leave us a full day resort/rest day and the day we leave as well. We have floated a few ideas around of what to do that day. The good thing, is most of the ideas we can decided to do once we are there.

We booked a room only reservation at Port Orleans French Quarter! I am actually excited about this. I waited to see what the discounts would be from Disney and thought we would do Riverside if we could get a good discount, as French Quarter isn't usually included. But it came out and it was only for the Royal Rooms at Riverside and was still higher than a regular room at French Quarter. So, I just went with that! I did get a letter in the mail that they are doing some renovations at French Quarter when we will be there. Does anyone know how much they are doing? Anyone stay there? Did you guys like it?

So, Morgan said she wanted to know about our next trip this time around and Gwen said she did not. So, that is how it stands at the moment. Morgan knows and Gwen doesn't. We will see how long Morgan can keep the secret!

*********Ok, back to your regularly scheduled Trip Report! I hope to get another post up sometime today. *************
