Decorating golf carts

We are renting a golf cart from Disney for our stay. Are we allowed to decorate it? I was think about battery operated lights? Anyone have insight/ suggestions? Thanks!

I have seen many decorated. Those who do are very careful not to leave any evidence that they had decorated (tape residue, marks etc)

small zip ties and extension cords work well - yes, try to avoid tape residue. We have used clings before but some of the gel clings are hard to get off if the cart has sat out in the sun for a few days and baked in the sunshine. But we have not had issues with returning ours in the past once we undecorate them. We also bring a deep charge battery and put it in the back of the cart and plug things in there. And tinsel works great! Decorative during the day and no residue :) It really helps to identify your cart when it is decorated, since all Disney carts otherwise look alike - have a great trip!

Just noticed you were thinking battery operated lights - that would work fantastic with small zip ties! Add some tinsel for bling and you're all set!

IMG_20160109_124309199.jpg We rent from Disney, and always decorate our cart. Proud Dairy Farmers from Wisconsin, and avid Cheeseheads. We have two inflatable cows we attach, one on top of the golf cart, and one on the front bumper. Typically one of our cows has the cheesehead on top. We also use battery operated lights. Enjoy.

We use the zip ties and color coordinated pipe cleaners depending on what we are attaching to the cart.

Does anyone know if the carts rented from Tee Time have battery outlets? Trying to figure out if we will be able to put some lights on ours.

Thanks!

You might be able to power something from the battery charger input
I just did a web search using "using the battery charger input to power externally on a golf cart" and it came up with some results.

You might find something there.

Decorating of golf carts has become a serious problem at Fort Wilderness. So much so that Disney has now instituted a policy of Public Shaming offenders. At certain peak periods when this conduct tends to be most prevalent, Think 4th of July, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Offenders will be forced to line up near the Hitch/Unhitch cutouts and do The Perp Ride down Ft Wilderness Trail in full view of family and friends who may if previously been seen on the offending cart join the driver on said cart down to Settlement Area.
I have personally witnessed vigilante actions of a like nature where larger groups have forced members in violation of the decorating policy to endure the Perp Ride of shame.
This being said I have every intention of risking it in Dec. My DW says if I am caught she and the Kids will join me at the Settlement only WookieBear is willing to share my shame
