February Weather

What should I pack for a family of 5 traveling to Disney. I'm staying at the Bay Lake Towers.

Prepare for anything. Our experience with February (early in the month) was great - high 60's/low 70's during the day, a bit chillier in the evenings. I have found it too chilly for swimming with those temps, but of course it could be warmer. I would suggest you pay particular attention to Orlando weather two weeks or so before your trip. I make a point to check the websites of the local Orlando news stations such as WFTV or WESH. We're heading to Bay Lake Towers in late February, so we'll be doing the same!

My family will be there from feb 16th-feb23rd. We were there in Feb 2008 winter recess and the weather was lovely. High 70's evenings chilly but you could wear a sweat shirt or jean jacket. I'm hoping that will be the weather.

Follow the Orlando weather forecast carefully in the last few days before your trip. The weather there can do anything at that time of year. When we went in February 2014, weather was almost perfect: cool but not cold, just enough to maybe want a jacket in morning and evening, and very comfortable mid-day.

However, the last time we went in midwinter (late January 2016), there was a cold snap during our visit, and it was in the 30's once the wind chill was factored in. Absolutely miserable cold.

So it can go eaither way. Pack layers, follow the forecasts and be prepared.

I went in late February a few years ago. We had a couple of warm days at the beginning of the trip, and quickly changed our schedule around to go to Typhoon Lagoon!

Not all of the trip was warm enough for swimming, so we were glad we'd packed a variety of clothes, from shorts to long pants. I recommend bringing a little bit of everything and possibly doing laundry mid-trip.

:welcome:to DisBoards!

As the previous posters have said, plan for everything and pack layers. What I would suggest is to check the historical weather data for your travel dates. According to the weather channel the average high/low for Feb 18th is a pleasant 73F/50F. The record high is a balmy 86F but the record low is a brisk 27F. Being prepared for a breezy upper 20's, low 30's morning will help make your trip a happy one.

Wishing you a magical visit!
