We've decided on a Christmas trip to Disney next year. We know it will be crowded and are promising ourselves to be cool about that and not worry! We went during spring break this year and it was pretty dang crowded. It was stressful and we tried to do too much so now we know what NOT to do during a crowded December 20th--30th trip. Right??? Everything's gonna be great. Right???
:scared1:

I'm here now. It's very crowded. We are having a blast. If you don't go expecting to see and do everything, I think you can have a really nice time. If you want to see and do everything it's still possible, just be sure to make it to rope drop and follow www.touringplans.com touring plans.

Thank you. It's good hearing from experience!

We are definitely rope drop and touring plan people and are already excited!
Just knowing we're going back has us all worked up. :dance3:

To me, when there's a crowd, there's a reason for the crowd. In this case, WDW is crowded at Christmas because they do Christmas better than anyone else! Go in with that attitude and focus on seeing the Christmas stuff-- holiday storytellers, Voices of Liberty holiday show, Candlelight Processional (depending on kids' ages; if you do it, get the dining package), Minnie's Holiday Dine, Dapper Dans holiday show (often overlooked), GF gingerbread house, etc. Rope drop and use FP judiciously. Don't stand in 2 hour lines; go do something Christmasy instead.

I agree. If you choose a Christmas trip goveith a different goal than s " normal" wdw trip. If you manage your expectations and have a decent plan I bet you will have a blast!

Nothing beats being in Disney at Christmastime- crowds or no.

You can have the trip of a lifetime with many magical moments. Do your homework and plan, plan, plan!!!!

We went in 2015 to see Osborne Lights farewell. RD is everything, and taking advantage of morning EMH if you are on-site. AKL on the 25th if you're doing a park that day. We left the parks no later than 1pm, took a long break at resort and came back for dinner/show/fireworks. Minnie's Holiday Dine was great. Even if you're not onsite, holiday character meets at deluxe resorts are fun and free! Love the holiday tag at the end of Illuminations.

We did Christmas a few years ago. Everything said about rope drop is accurate. You must get in early. MK hit capacity on 25th by like 11 am. Definitely agree if your mindset is positive so will your experience be. It is very crowded, you won't do every single ride-show-parade, dining reservations are tough to get...the atmosphere is electric, holiday decor and music is abundant, family is together, have a great time!
