Best time of year to go on the Allure or Harmony

I am starting to plan a cruise for 6 recent retirees! I was on the Allure in June- loved it! Friends just got off of it and said there were a lot of children and very rude people! We would like to go within the first four months of 2018. In June it was too hot to enjoy the balcony but we want it warm! Need opinions- western or eastern Caribbean? Boardwalk, Central Park or outside balcony?

We just got off the Allure. It was a bit cool and breezy up on the pool deck and we did have some heavy rain for a bit as well. We didn't encounter very rude people or what I'd consider a lot of children and it was a holiday week. :-) I'd recommend an ocean view balcony unless you want to people-watch. I prefer to look at the sea/ocean when I'm on a ship. I can people-watch another time. :-) As far as when to go, I'd suggest end of March or April but....avoid Easter week (before and after) and also Spring Break time - which may overlap. We prefer the Western Caribbean but again it depends on what you want to do. The Western includes Jamaica and the Eastern includes Nassau, both of which people avoid. We were just in Jamaica and did a fantastic excursion. We loved the Allure so much that we booked the Harmony for the same week - same Western itinerary - in 2018! Can't wait! Enjoy your planning!

interesting about the rude crowds..
we went on the allure at the very end of august and it was wonderful....
great service, fun passengers...and it was a fully booked ship...
not very many kids if i'm remembering correctly...at least i didn't notice very many...

We have done Oasis & Allure a few times. W always do end, last week in April or first 10 days of May. May 7th this year.

Not retirees but in our 50s

Thanks so much for your input! We have booked the Harmony for April 14 next year! 2 questions- what was the excursion in Jamaica that you enjoyed? And what did you mean by avoiding Jamaica and Nassau? We are doing the Western Caribbean- I can use anyone's advice!!!!

We did the Jungle Tubing Adventure (http://www.royalcaribbean.com/shore...horexByPort&ProductCode=FY2B&DestinationCode=). I think next year we'll combine Dunns River Falls with a tubing adventure. Some people are either afraid to get off the ship in Nassau/Jamaica or think they'll be hassled too much by touts so they stay on board. After several trips to both (esp. Nassau) we've never had any issues.
