Yes, it would smell pretty bad. In addition, it takes a bit to set up.

That means that it wouldn't be worth it to set up, sell for a night or two, then break it back down. It seems to me that most meth labs would not be in a nightly hotel. (<-- just my opinion) Instead you would want somewhere you could cook for a while. e.g. a rental house, long term stay motel, mobile home, shed.

(All of my knowledge of drugs, manufacturing and distributing, comes from jury duty.)

Now that wouldn't mean that people wouldn't sell drugs on property. It just doesn't make sense to manufacture them for distribution.

FWIW - This is entirely inaccurate. There are several methods for making meth and any number of "recipes". Some labs are quite elaborate (breaking bad style) others require very few items and can be set up in the trunk of a car. That said, the chances of someone making meth on WDW property are between slim and none.

I'm not shocked at the idea of finding drugs on guests or guests finding drugs at WDW. I travel for my job - started when I was straight out of grad school at 21. I've spent most of the last 15 years getting on planes once or twice a week. I've seen drug deals go down, or be negotiated at a LOT of much nicer than WDW Deluxe resorts by seeming very well heeled patrons. Especially late night at hotel bars, I might be a getting a "go to sleep glass of wine" or let's be honest, a "go to sleep piece of key lime pie and skim milk" and reading, its been interesting the deals I've seen. I've been offered drugs to be procurred for me at a number of Ritz Carltons (my usual personal goto) by bellman, concierge, and bartenders. I have never taken anyone up on this of course, and usually only realize a few hours later when I'd say "hey travel companion, what was all that business about it snowing? we're in Cancun" to be told I'm an idiot:) but I bet it does happen at WDW, especially at the resorts. It kinda makes me happy that I've never seen it there, given my frequency of visits and my enjoyment of late evening nightcaps on vacation. I mean, my ex and I even mentioned how nice it was that it didn't seem to happen at WDW, but it wouldn't surprise me that WDW has to work at it really hard to keep drugs off property as much as possible.

Based on Breaking Bad only, doesn't making meth smell really terrible? Wouldn't that be pretty obvious? I'm seriously confused about this whole thing.

I saw another poster mention hitting multiple resorts in a few hours, and that's so me - never had an issue. Let's say Epcot through Illuminations, dinner at CG afterwards, then a cocktail at the Poly and then Uber back to the Swan, limoncello at Il Mulino, ending with a cocktail at the Dolphin by midnight. Never had a single problem with WDW security.

So again, seriously confused.

Wow if you are actually seeing that many drug deals at the hotels you stay at I would be looking elsewhere. Sounds like you were in Cancun though so that could be a bigger part of the equation. I've been to many conventions and hotels and yes while I believe there are drugs going on I've never seen a deal happen out in the open like a hotel lounge or bar.

And here I thought all those drug cartels and what not were here with me in Texas :P

Actually wondering if I've ever had that experience in TX, but admittedly, I'd never had frequent and extended TX trips. But lol, I can't believe those ding dang drug cartels have never shown up in TX. I have seen some shady stuff at some super "high dollar" Miami hotels though...and I love Miami/Boca.

You're funny.

Even after I indicated that it was just my opinion. And then later stated that it was only what I have learned on jury duty, you still found the need to tell me how wrong I am.

Incredible for anywhere but the Dis.

You are welcome. I'm just happy your willing to learn something rather than spewing uninformed nonsense. Keep an open mind and you may learn more.

My next door neighbor (condo so our doors are just a few feet apart) is mentally ill. She's called the police (multiple times) and told them that we have a meth lab. Which of course we do not. The police know that she is nuts so it's not been a real problem. But I found a doormat on Woot that says "This is not a meth lab". My neighbors have just about died laughing over this as they all know how nuts she is.

It's really nuts. I graduated from college in the swinging 60s - but have never done ANY drugs in my life. Was never even offered any. I'm that boring and rule abiding.

Not really. When people give out incorrect information, whether on the internet or in person, I correct them (someone got to you first before me in this case LOL). Maybe it's because my dad was that way, maybe it's because my entire career has been in academia, and that's what we do. In my profession, correct information is the currency of the job. More often than not when someone is wrong, they are glad you corrected them. They have learned something and they won't look uninformed to the next person they discuss it with. Then again, on the net, people seem to be happy to spout incorrect info then "kill the messenger" when they are corrected, or feel insulted. Someone just took the time to teach you something, which they did NOT have to do, so you shouldn't get your feelings hurt. Just my opinion.

It was the tone of the correction, that even I found offensive. It wasn't a correction to make sure the right info got out, it was a correction for "Look at ME and How Great I Am!!!". That was the tone. You can correct someone's bad info without being, well, a tool.

If you think the poster was a "tool" for the way he stated that the info was incorrect, then you indeed have a very thin skin. Often on the net things come across as harsher than they are meant to because there is a lack of facial expressions and tone of voice to convey the full meaning of what is being said. That said, I found absolutely nothing about the poster's correction that was condescending or in a harsh tone. I also did not interpret the post as being a "Look at ME and How Great I Am!!!" post. The poster stated that the original post was "entirely inaccurate". Which it was (people around here get arrested for car trunk meth labs all the time). May I ask how the poster might have stated the correction in some way that was not offensive to you? People are wrong all the time. They should take corrections as an opportunity to learn something new. Not turn off their brain because the correction wasn't stated with lots of conditions and attempts not to ruffle any feathers.
