Got DHs AA business card on Saturday. Already $2700 into 3k spend. Helped that we decided to buy WDW tickets at UT before price increase.

I want to get Amex SPG next in DH name. Will it be a problem that he got CSR in October & AA MC this week?

Finally finished picking up my tickets for my fall trip!

NYC to Venice on Delta one for 70k points (transferred from Amex)

Then the return from London to Orlando on BA. Ugh those fuel fees on BA are painful ($868 on 2 tickets) but we really wanted to add a few days in London and the BA flight is direct whereas the AA flights all connect. These tickets were 65.5k each (Marriott five day package for 300k points plus 120k American).

I think to get from Spain to London we'll just pick up cheap tickets.

I need to do another round of card apps since 2017 (mostly spent in 2016 has burned some points!)

Calypso just turned 48 last month  I'm home and I am tired but I was able to sleep on the plane. You get turndown service on international first class flights with BA, plus jammies and slippers to change into then drink a nice glass of wine before a nice dinner on the plane. When you fly into and out of LHR in first you can spend time at the Concorde Lounge and have a complimentary mini spa treatment at Elemis.

So the international weekend trip wasn't too bad. This summer we are going for just a few days to Scotland and we'll be slumming it in business class for the first time. No jammies, no slippers ... the horror :lmao:#firstworldproblems

Ok, off topic question. So it's been a long time since I've flown BA so maybe things are different, but how in the heck fire do people manage to change into the pjs they hand out. Maybe I'm too long-limbed and not nimble enough but the thought of trying to change clothes in an airplane bathroom is too much for me.

Maybe it's just United but the toilet is a tiny cubbard regardless of which cabin you're in.

I can't imagine it would be. If you had to call recon and explain anything just say it looks like you'll be staying at a lot of SPG hotels in the near future so you wanted to get a card that would be good for those stays.

LOL We change out of our shoes and in to the slippers first before heading to the bathroom. This avoids a lo of bending in a limited space. Then we change out of the rest of our clothes and into the pj's in the bathroom, come out and hang our tops in the personal closet by our seat so they don't get wrinkled. I am only 5 feet tall but I have been on flights and seen the 6 ft plus dudes go in an come out in their jammies.

It's basically $1500 for $450 plus a $300 travel statement. credit this year and again when January rolls around. It's worth getting it for that and then once the AF rolls around again next year product change the card to the CSP.

Does changing/downgrading to the CSP count towards the 5/24 rule. Is it like applying for a whole new card? My end goal is to apply for the CSR, get the 2017 travel credit and then the 2018 travel credit, and then downgrade. But, I don't know how many cards I've done in the last 24 months. What would happen if that were the case? Would I just plan on using the 100K miles, and then close the card without downgrading?

That's no lie. Those WDW tix we just bought need a place to stay. Swan/Dolphin will do nicely.

Try changing a 12 month old baby in one of those. I decided if I could do that, I could do almost anything :rotfl2:

No, downgrading is not like a new application. I was over 10/24 and was only able to get the CSR through CPC before that loophole closed. I'd already had a CSP for a few years and was able to downgrade my CSP to a CFU without having to go through CPC to do it.

Nice!

Playing around with the united website to check award space availability. I need tomake sure I can book united award space on aeroplan using aeroplan miles transferred from Amex MR. Does united release award space 11 months out?

In my experience, yes, they do release at least some reward space 11 months out.

i recall having to activate a advanced mode that will show more award availability. I forgot how I did it, but I recall it helped.

Any data points on being approved for the SW Biz card without an official business? Thinking about having DH apply for it for the 60K bonus, along with one of the personal cards at 50K to get the CP a bit easier. We do craft and sometimes sell things we make, but I wouldn't call it an official business. Wasn't sure how stringent the process would be to get this business card.

Completed spend on AA card for 60k points. 10 days after application, 3 days after we received the card. I'd did save a few bills (insurance & tax) for this purpose. I only paid one bill early, and it was only due March 1. Yay! Can't wait to see those points in my account.

I'm right there with you! Applied for the SW card last week for 50K points, received it yesterday. Booked DDP for my brother's family( he's using some of our DVC points)....spend completed! Companion pass here we come!

According to the Rapid Rewards site, I am 99% of the way to my Companion Pass. I don't have any trips planned, but just knowing it's that close is making me nuts.
Congrats! When I was working on mine last year I would do surveys for points, go through their portal and purchase something or dine at a restaurant that would earn me extra points to get those last few I needed.

I ordered a couple of magazines weeks ago to put me over the top, but they're taking their sweet time giving me the points. :D I've spent enough on the cards by now anyway, but those points won't be posted until the next statement closes.
