Buying AP as a Canadian, how do you get your MagicBand?

From what I understand, if you purchase an AP, it is not till after your first visit that you are able to order your MagicBand, but they won't ship to Canada. Is this correct?
 
Yes, that's correct. I upgraded to an AP on Tuesday morning, when we got to our room I customized my MB on-line using the address of the resort since it said to allow 10 days ... it was at the front desk on Thursday! So depending on how long your stay is you could either either wait till you check in to order it OR if it's on your account already you could use your resort address. My band was in a box addressed to me VIA the resort, not in the same package as our other bands so i would *assume* you could order it early?

Perhaps you could call the passholder number and ask them about the logistics of resort delivery!
 
Thank you. I "chatted" with someone on Disney's site and they said the same and that it is the same with Americans. You would think spending that much money, they would mail the MagicBands to you prior to your arrival. We have older MagicBands here at home, will probably link our APs to them and order the new ones when we get home. Even then you can't have them shipped to Canada.

This will be our first time getting APs. They must give you a card of some sort to get into the parks till you get your MagicBands?

So long as you have magic bands on your MDE account that are showing as "Active" they will work .. for boarding ME at the airport, opening your resort room once you've checked in, entering a park, making purchases/paying for meals (IF you're staying on-site that is!) You'll get a hard card that you need to show to get any of your discounts along with photo ID. Long winded way of saying that the bands you have now will let you in to the parks!

The amount of money you've spent has nothing to do with the bands getting shipped.. they can't ship anywhere other than the US. Not sure why they won't mail the AP bands though until after 1st visit --- like i said i got mine on either wed/thurs and didn't enter a park till friday :O
 


I bought our APs today. I guess I'll have to wait till I get back from our trip to customize our MagicBands. Can't wait to get back to Disney World. Only 95 days to go.
 
Ive had mine shipped to the resort waiting for me, and last time when we were at Guest Services at Disney Springs DH was getting his renewed and the CM gave us both ours there as she knew we were Canadian and its not easy for us to get them. Ive also has mine where I just used the one that came with my room and didn't bother with the extra MB
 
It doesn't even give me an option to customize or ship them. They should allow you to do so prior, so you can enjoy the full Disney experience. I don't know why Disney is afraid to ship them prior. You get one MagicBand per AP, it's been paid for. If we lose them, it would be our responsibility to replace them.
 


AP MagicBands are exactly the same as the ones you already have. They aren't special AP editions or anything. The only thing you get extra is the AP slider which you can put on any MB. If you already have MagicBands, you aren't missing out on anything other than the slider and a pre-printed discount card vs the hand-written one you'll get in WDW.
