EMH + Fireworks... am I crazy?!

I haven't seen the Wishes fireworks in years and my kids have never seen them! We are coming to Disney March 1 - March 4th. Luckily for us, the fireworks on the 1st and 2nd are at 8 PM so my kids will get to see them!

My plan for March 1st is Epcot in the morning, followed by MK in the evening... but its an EMH evening at MK from 9-11. We are not staying on property so can't take advantage of the extra time to ride rides, but that's too late for us anyway.

Question is, am I crazy for wanting to see Wishes on an EMH evening? Will we be able to get a good spot for the fireworks show?

Won't your viewing spot depend on how early you "stake it out?"
I don't think you are crazy at all for wanting to catch wishes on an emh night. Just be prepared to find a spot early. There's always the ever-so-convenient desert party, too.

I suppose it does. I wish they offered FP for Wishes still so I could guarantee a spot!

You're going really early in March. I would think the crowds should be manageable. I wouldn't worry too much about EMHs. It's an opportunity for your kids to see Wishes. If you're worried about crowds, get a spot early and bring glow sticks to keep the kids occupied.

They used to but turned it into paid dessert parties.

I've never really worried about finding a spot for the fireworks. You can stand anywhere in front of the castle or to the sides, along Main Street, walkways to the lands.

Managable is just a term people use to say STOOPID CRAZY but I got enough rides to make me happy..

Wishes is always crowded no matter what the crowd size is, get there very early..

Does Wishes begin 1 hour prior to park closing?

you have to look it up for a particular day.. some days it's as the park closes, some days it's hours before it closes..

I would personally never do MK as a non-resort guest on an EMH night. They are by far the busiest evenings. The fireworks aren't the issue but any rides you want to go on earlier will probably have good size waits. I would try to go the night before or after if you can. If not, get FP for 5-6pm, 6-7pm and 7-8pm and start Epcot at rope drop.

Thanks. Mk closes at 9:00 on this particular night. I have a 7:00 ohana dinner. I want to see Wishes after dinner. Trying to figure out if it at 8 or 9 on March 23.

Even though it is an EMH night non resort guest can still stay and go through the shops or anything but not ride rides. Unless they have changed it since we were last there

I normally wouldn't either, but the fireworks thing has made me nuts! Ou plan is just that though, do Epcot in the morning, mostly for the F&G Festival and playgrounds. Take a break midday, just have them nap in the stroller or whatever. Then we will go over to MK and use a few FP before watching the fireworks. Then we'll leave.

The beauty of traveling to Disney with a 3 year old and a baby is, the rides they really want to ride usually aren't the worst as far as lines and Fast Passes go ;)

They are at 9 on March 23. You can go to the Disney World website, go to Entertainment, and Wishes, then click the date you are looking for to see the times of the fireworks.

We are going with Make A Wish. We chose early march bc of 8pm wishes. We chose our park days at 180 days since I wanted Bbb and bog (which I got and now are locking us into that day). Whether I missed it or it was added later, we chose march 1 for MK and I freaked when I saw EMH added. I'm considering ditching them and just doing Star Wars on our HS night. I don't know if it's worth the extra crowds.

I'm nervous about trying to get out of the park with 3 small tired kids in the mob.

I'm thinking with 8 PM Wishes and EMH evening maybe it'll work to your advantage and a lot of people will stay after the fireworks to take advantage of EMH? Maybe?! ;) Maybe just wishful thinking.

Are your kids small enough to ride in strollers? If there are two adults, maybe bring a double and a single and let them rest after.

This actually crossed my mind as I put my thoughts down. Crowded for watching but maybe no mad rush for the monorail! Thanks!

They are and actually are renting a double buy flying with our single! Then again the 6 year old can outlast me on any given night So hopefully the 1 and 4 year old keep it together
