Favorite dining during honeymoon?

Hands down our favorite was Victoria & Albert's. It was just spectacular. If you're a foodie, it is worth every penny to experience at least once. We also really loved California Grill and Tiffins as well. California Grill for dinner is spectacular with the food and the view. Tiffins is beautifully themed and the food is also wonderful. Some of the others that really stood out to us for the experience, food, and atmosphere were:

  • Raglan Road for the weekend brunch
  • Kona Cafe for breakfast
  • Jiko
  • Jungle Cruise Skipper's Canteen
  • Narcoossee's
  • Cinderella's Royal Table (though I do feel the price for this one is higher than it should be for what you ultimately get in terms of food. You're totally paying for the experience)
  • Be Our Guest (the food is good, but it is really the stunning theming in the restaurant that is worth eating here at least once)
And for a fun experience, I do recommend heading to Trader Sam's at the Poly. The theming and atmosphere in the bar are great, and the drinks are pretty good too. Just make sure to get there early to get a spot since the bar is small and the wait to get in can be long!

awesome! thanks!

Is there a hotel which you feel is especially romantic?

Is there a hotel which you feel is especially romantic?

It really depends on what you're into and what you're looking for. I do believe the deluxe hotels are inherently more romantic than the values due to more amenienties (dining, spas, views, grounds, etc) being offered, but there are definitely some moderates that I would consider romantic too, particularly Port Orleans French Quarter. The resort is smaller with a lot of southern charm positioned along the river. However, it ultimately depends on what you really like and prioritize.

For us, we LOVE Animal Kingdom Lodge. We are absolutely huge fans of animals and being there feels a little like we're off somewhere in Africa. To us, that is just an unbeatable experience. Some of our friends absolutely love the Grand Floridian,
Contemporary, and Polynesian. I would look at the various resorts and what they offer and pick somewhere that sounds appealing to you.

what were you favorite restaurants or dining experiences during your Disney-moon trip?
We did the Wanyama safari at AkL, and that was an incredible experience overall. The dining was unique but a picky eater like me still loved it all. Our only concern was how we would feel having a family style meal with total strangers, but by the time the safari was done, all those strangers were great friends. We toasted that we couldn't imagine a better group of total strangers to share that amazing night with. Our favorite meal, just the two of us, was hands down Yachtsman Steakhouse. Never had the thought of sharing 32 ounces of porterhouse been so romantic as when we walked in to that restaurant. Classic steakhouse, but the food and service bow to very few other restaurants in WDW if you ask me. California Grill was our favorite 1 year anniversary restaurant, and has since dethroned Yachtsman as number one overall. Just so romantic to be up there, with the view over Magic Kingdom, and if you time with Wishes it's tough to beat

We are kind of torn. We may end up doing a split stay. I've always wanted to stay at beach club. I'd really like to swim in SAB and the restaurants in that area really appeal to me. My DF wants to stay at wilderness lodge, which really only appeals to me for the boat ride to MK.

I'll have to check out the safari. That sounds amazing!
It was certainly something we will remember forever. The one thing I will caution, back then we did a split stay between BC and AKL because the only way we could do the Wanyama was if we were staying in AKL. I'm not sure if that has changed, but last I heard it is still the case. I see you like the idea of a split stay, and I can't recommend those two enough (BC and AKL). BC was great for SAB and the easy access to world showcase. Also, we loved romantic walks around the Boardwalk. We went to Jellyrolls and had a blast. They will even play your first dance song and give you a congrats and maybe even a hard time ;). AKL was the second part of the honeymoon and used as a wind down. We still did the parks, but really took the time to enjoy the resort and animals together. I was in your shoes a few years ago, and the most valuable lesson I Iearned... it's your honeymoon and you know you two best, so trust your gut. I certainly think a split stay is the way to go because you two will enjoy different atmospheres. We loved BC and it's now our home away from home and the first place we look to stay when booking. Have a blast!! Sorry for the long post, but planning my Disney-moon for my DW and me is what made me the massive fan I am today. You will set so many amazing memories! Congrats!

Also totally agree with LadyD, if you enjoy cocktails, Trader Sam's is a must. Split a drink and take home the glass. Makes a great souvenir of a drink you shared on your Disney-moon and tells a story itself

Great advice. I'm trying to sell the DF on AKL but he seems unimpressed :sad2: Time will tell. But BC is a must do in my opinion pixiedust:

I agree on BC 100%. If he isn't about AKL, I could understand but I'd be happy to answer any questions about out past stays there if you two were curious. We have done both kidani and jambo, and loved it. Have a blast on your your Disneymoon and congratulations!! Ps.. best advice, wear the buttons and any sort of hat or shirt that says you're a new couple. CMs and other guests really will make you both feel special. I didn't go for it at first, but DW made these awesome baseball hats and we really felt the magic all the time. Enjoy!FB_IMG_1456430632706.jpg

We were in WDW for 14 days and did a split stay among AKL, OKW, and Pop Century. Split stays in terms of logistics are pretty darn easy once you're there. It is really just the separate windows for ADRs that can be a pain in the butt if you like to book at exactly the 180-day mark. Depending on when you're going for your honeymoon, WL has a lot of construction right now due to the DVC expansion. Not sure if that might be a deal breaker for you guys, but it is something to consider :) BC is a great place to stay and super convenient for dining and park access. It would make a great honeymoon resort imo.

AKL is fantastic. Out of all the resorts we stayed at and visited this past trip (basically all of the deluxe resorts) for our honeymoon in October, AKL had the best bus transportation. I don't think we ever waited more than 10 minutes at the resort for a bus or at a park, even around closing. I adore the pools at that resort because you can look at and stare at animals while at the pool!!!! We're pretty adventurous eaters and really love the menus at Boma, Sanaa, and Jiko since they are so different. I also felt like AKL was calmer and more relaxed than many of the other resorts we visited, especially the monorail ones.

Couldn't agree more. It's why we loved it as a wind down resort toward the end of the trip. It's certainly it's own pace, but it was so enjoyable in its own way. I also don't think anywhere else on property makes you feel so "far away", even if it's just Sanaa for lunch.

Be Our Guest - Especially if you can get the Beast to almost lay out your spouse during his entrance.

My favorites during our honeymoon were:
San Angel Inn: So romantic with a table right along the water, & the waitstaff was awesome
California Grill: We were seated in the Wine Room with a view of Illuminations. Food was out of this world
Artist's Point: Romantic, cozy, wonderful waitstaff, & food was amazing
Hoop De Doo Revue: This was one of the most fun nights of our trip! Food was great as well. I can't recommend this enough!

We're planning to eat at Hoop Dee Doo, California Grill, Ohana, and Cinderellas Royal Table :)
Make sure you note in all of them, and when you show up a the hostess stand that it's your Disneymoon! They will go above and beyond and make it a super magical night, especially at Cali Grill. What time do you have planned? Will you catch wishes from up there? That is one of our favorite things, so I couldn't agree more with the idea. Just make sure you catch Wishes from the Poly beach after Ohana or Cali Grill. Totally different perspective and very intimate. You're gonna have a blast!!!!

Thanks! Great advice :) We are actually eating at the California Grill Napa Room on our wedding night with our guests during Wishes but we have been there before and love it :) can't wait!
