We arrive tomorrow for our first visit to Aulani. We will have a rental car for 3 days.

Any recommendations for off site dining. Nothing fancy. We will have a 6 year old. Pretty simple taste buds. Mexican would be nice....or anything really.

We'll be in the Honolulu/Ala Moana Blvd area one evening and doing a trip around the island another.

Thanks in advance!

Chili's is great for kids too because they have the little iPad things on all their tables with all kinds of games both kids and adults can enjoy. The only problem would be getting there before peak hours to beat dinner traffic.

We absolutely loved Monkeypod and ate there twice. Great cocktails too! We also got pizza from Pizza Corner: I liked their toppings (the lobster and crab was fantastic) though their crust is really nothing special. I actually thought the garlic knots were just ok even though they get lots of love here.

We went to a cute banh mi place in Kapolei one day called Tasty Shack. The sandwiches were great and the kids liked their pho, although honestly they could have split one, the portions were huge!

We ate at the Mexican restaurant in the shopping plaza across from Aulani. It was a good meal and reasonably priced.
If your from California I would Suggest a pass. We have been spoiled by fabulous Mexican.

I agree. We ate there. My son had an enchilada that was basically pizza sauce, cheese, on a tortilla. It tasted nothing like mexican food. I did have a really good margarita there.
