Some one has said on another forum that they know of people that have been charged a supplement more than just room tax when adding people to booking when checking into club level rooms.
Has anyone on here had experience of this, or heard anything about it ??
I would be grateful for any info as we are off in two weeks having booked a GF room for one with 3 AP holders to book in on check in.

We stayed in an Admirals floor room in NewPort Bay Hotel a few years ago. We added my (adult) son on at check in and only had to pay room tax - the cooked breakfast, drinks and cakes etc were all included for him as well. This was about 6/7 years ago though so it may have changed now

Thank you I too have done it before and just paid room tax, but this person has mentioned charges of €80 per person per night :confused3 that would add up to double what I paid for the room

I have emailed GF reception today to let them know I will be adding three people to the room on check in I asked if they would let me know if there was to be an additional charge for doing this. I had a reply to say its ok to add people and there would be a small charge of €1.66 per person per night room tax.

i'm going to take a copy of the email with me just in case, because someone else said they rang today to be told they would have to pay a supplement they didn't say how much it would be though.

There is no such thing as “fees” when changing actual occupancy. You are allowed to bring as many people as you see fit (as long as you pay the taxes of course).

Bring the email with you if you wish and do no worry too much!

Thank you for that I will do. Only 17 days till we arrive :cheer2::cheer2:

Is it possible that the person who had to pay so much extra had to buy tickets or a meal plan or something?

I wonder if there are going to be changes to all this when the new breakfast payment comes in next March... It doesn't make sense that someone staying (and prebooked) will pay (for a figure) 28 euros for breakfast, when someone checking in on the day of arrival pays 1.66 euros.... Not sure when you are going OP but that could be why you were quoted the 80 euros?

I personally think the 'room tax route' will go next year sometime and I've read rumours to this extent.

no we are going in two weeks so breakfast is still included. I wouldn't mind paying extra for the breakfast but I think if its true €80 per day per person is a bit over the top especially as there would be no park tickets in that. if you add an extra person, before you go, to a 4 night booking it costs around €150 I did try to find out who has actually had to pay extra but have had no response. It was said that a travel agent had told someone they knew of 4 people it has happened to recently. Maybe the travel agent was just trying to get them to book everyone on so they get more profit Who knows only time will tell

I think thats your answer.

Note that free breakfast for all guests, even those added at check-in, has always been a courtesy from Disneyland.

It is mandatory that every hotel display its rack rate inside every room and those always state that breakfast is not included.

Technically, if you'd book a room by going at the reception and paying rack price, you would have to pay extra for breakfast. (In addition, I have been told exactly that by front desk on one occasion: my wife and I considered an unexpected stay at the DLH after having enjoyed a late dinner and drink at Inventions and Café Fantasia.)

Package used to always include breakfast; it is my understanding that, when this will change, additional guests will continue to pay only for taxes, and every guests without a breakfast plan (obviously including additional guests) will pay breakfast at its public price.
