DCP Roles Overview?

Hello all,
I'm a senior in high school and I am strongly considering participation in the Disney College Program. Can anyone with experience give me an overview of the roles and any pros/cons you know of?

A little bit of background: I was a shallow water lifeguard at a local waterpark for three years. Does anyone know how I could let them know I was interested in that but not anything else in recreation? Other than rec, I'm fine with doing any role except characters (I don't fit height requirements lol).

Thanks in advance!

Lifeguarding is its own separate role, as far as I know. If you indicate interest in that, and list experience at doing it, you will probably get it if you're accepted. They always need lifeguards and it's a more specialized skill than a lot of other roles.

You won't be accepted as a character performer unless you go to an audition, regardless of whether you indicate interest on your application.

I am a lifeguard and they are the biggest role to get accepted! So deff say that to your interviewer and you will prob get in! They have two choices shallow water or deep water ... So pretty much hotel or water park

I am also considering doing DCP. I am a freshman in college and wanted to work Spring 2018. I think my top choice would be Bibbity Bobbity Boutique. I do my own hair and nails and I've worked with children before, so I thought it would be a lot of fun. Has anyone else worked BBB?

I wasn't lucky enough to get this role (even though I absolutely adored the role I did get) but I did know someone who has and absolutely loved it! Just know that it is a tough role to get because SO many people make it their top choice. Good luck!!

Just to clarify: when you apply for the DCP you don't pick your role. You're asked what you would like, but in no way will you be guaranteed to work in one of your choices. BBB: is tough. Kids who work there are usually in "beauty school" or are licensed stylists. Advice: watch a lot of current DCP kid videos. Look at the application process, practice, get a job! Good luck.
