Nervous about new thrill rides - thoughts on Crush's Coaster?

Hello all!

I am definitely not a big thrill-seeker myself, though my recent trips have involved my trying to experience new rides. Some examples of what I can handle: I've been on Space Mountain (little scary/exhilarating but fun), Thunder Mountain (love), splash mountain (not a fan of the big drop), ToT (NOT a fan of the big drop...my sister likely will make me go on the one in DLP), test track (love), Dinosaur (really enjoyed). Primeval Whirl I have mixed feelings about because of the spinning.

My question is Crush's Coaster. From what I've read some people say it's pretty intense. Can I get a litmus test? What WDW rides would you compare it to, intensity wise? Is it worse than Space Mountain? Is the spinning worse than Primeval Whirl? Since the line here is apparently very long I definitely want to try to have an idea if I can go on it before I arrive. Thank you!

I've never been to WDW so can't compare it with anything there. If you look on YouTube for Alton Towers Sonic Spinball, it's very similar only in the dark. The carriages are much the same and it spins in the same way. The idea in Crush bring that you're riding the waves so you see lots of Nemo related stuff. It's a great ride.

I thought the spinning was worse than Primeval Whirl to be honest. But I still love it. I suffer with ear/vertigo problems and have to be careful as rides can set an attack off. I was actually fine on both rides though! Crush is great, and unique so it would be a shame not to do it at least once.

Crush's Coaster was my favorite ride at DLP. It's kind of intense, though I wouldn't put it on Space Mountain level. It's very smooth, which is nice. There is a lot of spinning. Not nearly as jerky as Primeval Whirl. Not as intense and Everest. There's really no direct WDW comparison though. I highly recommend you try it. If you can ride Space and Big Thunder you will be fine.

Agree with most of this Ashley, but I think it depends on whether the OP can handle spinning - that is the main thing. There is an awful lot of spinning if it's an issue for them. It's a great ride though - worth trying!

This is true. The spinning is just so smooth I hardly notice it (plus spinning is not an issue for me)!

Yes, I agree it's smooth. I think because I *can* suffer with my ears, I was probably more aware of it :). I personally did find the spinning worse than Primeval Whirl, maybe it's because it's inside, unlike PW, I don't know. But I managed OK and thought it was brilliant - definitely worth trying as there is nothing else like it.

I am extremely picky about which rides I will go on, and Crush's Coaster is my new favourite ride! I would say it's moderately spinny...more swoopy, lol. The other nice thing is that it is VERY smooth....the roughness like on Space Mountain (WDW) and Primieval Whirl is not there. I don't usually "do" spin rides. One time on the teacups was two times too many, kwim?
