Limit in splash area is 48".

I don't recall a limit on the slide, but you have to be able to go down solo, no floatation devices or life jacket.

Hmm, unless this is something new, I'm almost (key word) certain life jackets are allowed on the lava pool slide. DS wasn't the best swimmer early on and unless I was just a cruel dad I don't think I put him on there without one, the bottom is tough if you can't swim well. Maybe I'm not remembering correctly?

I had a guard claim otherwise, but maybe that's one of those "it's Disney, ask three CMs get three answers" situations.

I don't have any pictures, but there were two swimming around the pool with us last week.

No pic, but I was there a couple of weeks ago and we had 2-4 daily with the attitude that it was theirs and we were invading. They swam, bathed, and played and looked like they too were enjoying their stay. We didn't like it, but there was little we could do about it.

They are still being fed, therefore, they are not going to give up a good thing going, lol.

Interesting...so basically don't swallow any pool water. Just doesn't seem super sanitary but ducks will be ducks.

There have been ducks swimming with people in nearly all WDW resorts I've stayed at.

I have to say I've never had that experience yet. Guess I will in May!

Checked in yesterday and we got our request...3rd floor, Samoa. We have a view of the lava pool and the GF and it is amazing. Up until yesterday, my favorite resort was AKL and my husbands was BC...Poly has taken the top for both of us. Love everything! Thank you to all for the help in planning.
So happy for you :thumbsup2 If you get time post some pictures :)

1. there is enough chlorine in the pool to kill anything that needs killing, cooties-wise.

2. "duck stuff" is the least of your concerns about what is in the pool.

We arrived at the Poly Wednesday and are loving it here! We had standard room booked and our only room requests were 3rd floor, balcony but they didn't have any when we checked in. We got Fiji, 2nd floor facing Luau Cove and it's absolutely beautiful. We love our room & location so much we don't find ourselves missing a balcony at all. Fabulous place!

Here are the current check-in selection screens:

Love the "guarantee" of connecting rooms. Note that Tonga's not a room request (given its specialty nature) but somehow Hawaii is (despite also being specialty).

Is there no selection for a King Bed?

My 4-year-old used a life jacket on the volcano slide several times last week and no life guards said anything to us. She didn't use the life jacket on the slides in the splash pad.

We won't let our 3 year old go down the water slide at the Lava pool without a life jacket, and before that our now 6 yr old wore a life jacket every time for our 5 visits over the last 5 years. No one ever said anything to us about the jacket. I want to say he might have also worn one down the slides at the splash area if he went between the 2 and we didn't take it off of him, but I'm not as sure about that one. we didn't make him wear it over there if he wanted it off. There is no height requirement to the Lava pool slide, you just have to be capable of sliding by yourself since a parent can't go down with the child. You can catch at the bottom, though.

The 48" height limit at the splash area is only for the small slide on the left. People of any height, including adults, can use the rest of the splash area including the larger slide to the right.

We requested Samoa, third floor for our trip in June and ended up getting second floor, Samoa. At first I was disappointed to not have the balcony but after day one, we didn't miss it at all. From this point going forward, I'm not requesting a floor as it really was okay without the balcony. I'd rather request a building.

Enjoy your trip!

Good morning everyone! Have some poly questions for you all. There will be many firsts in our family for our January Disney trip. This will be out 1st Poly stay and our first time with a little - we'll be celebrating our nugget's 1st bday.
We were able to score a bungalow for our entire 1wk stay :worship::earseek:.

1. I've read that the plunge pools are not heated - are they still open in the cooler months? Will they be comfortable to use to January?
2. I've also read about the bugs on the water- This is our first monorail resort stay as well  (SS and OLW are our favs/home resorts). Do the bugs make sitting outside at night uncomfortable? Enough to where I need to pack bug spray for the DD if we want to utilize the deck?
3. How is the noise inside the bungalow? Are the MK fireworks loud enough that I should expect DD to stir?
4. 1st time mom ? - So DD is going to be 1 when we travel. We have never co slept and she sleeps well in her crib. For a sleeping arrangement, would she be best on the twin pull down with a bed rail? What are other's experience with a young one in regards to pull down/pack&play/co-sleep? Are there any other good threads to read on tips for traveling with babies?

Thanks all!
Christina

I can't answer your questions about the bungalows, but wanted to say I hope you have a great trip and enjoy the Poly. Have fun celebrating your little one's birthday :goodvibes.

Glad you are loving the Poly! I'm sorry your requests weren't met, but glad you are happy with your room/location. Enjoy the rest of your trip :wizard:.

Anyone there now that can tell me if they sell half gallons of milk and how much they are? If it's too much we will just stop on our way in. But if it's only a dollar or so more I'll wait and just get it there.
