Oh Yes Randy! We're so excited.

So what is typically put on our FE gifts? Should we write our names/ room number on them or is it a surprise? I would think we write the significance for that particular candy. This is all new to me. Have you ever just left extra gifts in FE that weren't a part of the group?

And Jae, don't worry about packing, I usually wait until the last minute and stay up way too late the night before. I try to remember to write or type a note for things as I think of them.

Tommy, I'm usually the one packed days before, especially with the little one but this time around I'm like ehh... not much clothes are needed it can wait! Lol

It's my first time for FEs too. I just put a tag on it with our room number. I totally forgot about the history of the candy. I guess I'll just tape that to the outside of the bag or something. It'll be interesting to see if we have the same stuff. :)

Aww that's sweet, but please don't go out of your way. I will say he likes Mickey but is a typical boy and loves anything Marvel. His favorite is Spiderman and Captain America

Also, if getting a group together for possible trivia sound like fun, post here, come to the breakfast meet, or send me a conversation with your cabin. We can call cabin to cabin on board. We do not use the wave phones, but does the app allow you to message each other? I an mot sure.


I do not know of any Fish Extender Group that is open for new participants.

I got the idea a few days ago, that I collect pins, and if there were others, I would keep a list of folks who would exchange a new pin with someone. I said that I would definitely close that list on Sept. 1. No one has signed up for it, but I still would be opened to doing it. If you can think of something relatively easy and set a deadline, some here may join, but some of us are nearly finished packing!

On a cruise, there is typically at least one time there's an Officers Trading time. I'll say around 7:30, in the area before you get to the concession stands outside the Walt Disney theater. Check the Navigator. I've gotten some cute ones there.

Also, in the 2 stores there are books you can ask to see with pins to trade. Sometimes a CM stands outside the door to a store in the evening to trade. This is usually between the 2 dinner/show times.

DVCCruiser, if you want to do a new pin exchange in your Fish Extender, I would do it with you. If any one else wants to join us, let us know. If you do, you need to post 10 times here before we can tell each other our cabin numbers in a private conversation here.

On my bags with gifts, I complete a label with To and From. I do include my cabin number, in case there are any questions. Yes, I have included the story of the candies.

As far as "Pixie Dusting" other fish extenders that you see in the halls. I have done that, and I have received some as well. If what I hand out is candy, I do include a label saying "bobbiwoz cabin _____" whatever.

One of the things I have received apart from the group I was in is a home made CD of Disney songs. What a delightful collection that is!

The Fish Exchanges is a delightful part of DCL cruising, that is missed by me when I cruise other lines!

Some folks surprise their own children by supplying gifts in the FE. They do this for many reasons, it could be they signed on here too late, or they didn't want to get involved with handing out gifts. Also, they figure they know what their children will like.

It is a chore, but it is a fun chore I think to hand out the gifts. The cabin stewards in the halls know what you are doing and they often smile and talk to you about what you are doing. It gives you a little exercise!

Be aware that sometimes (rarely, I do not believe it has happened to me, but I have read about it ) things get stolen, it's sad fact. I will have an extra portion, and if you haven't gotten something from me, give me a call on cabin phone. We all have each other's cabin number. I will plan to give out sometime before dinner (we have main dining) on Nassau day.

I've never carried a package of water without it being in a piece of luggage. I cannot imagine it would be a problem. You have to keep your things with you until your room is ready. A case of water could be awkward.

Any beverages you bring onboard must be in your carry on bags. Not checked bags. Now, in my experience, it actually had to be IN a bag of some sort. I've seen DCL give people black trash bags to put their beverages in at least twice.

Yes, you have to wrangle it until your room is ready (about 1:30), but that's what DCL requires.

Many people use a small, rolling suitcase to do it. You aren't restricted to one carry on per person, but whatever you bring through as carry on bags, you must handle.

Last day breakfast in Cabanas? That way all dining times can be there. I understand they stop putting out food at 8.

Last day (Return to Port day,.. Day 5)? Or last cruise day (sea day,... Day 4)?

In addition to our Dreamer Breakfast on Day 2 ( Nassau day). Right?
Sounds fun. We will let you know but definitely a meet up on D2 at Royal Palace.
