Disneyland Half Marathon 2024

We are arriving Friday between 1-3- driving from Phoenix. The only thing I’m really hoping for is a Dumbo and 10K magnets. Do you think those will still be there Friday afternoon?

Someone posted the other side of the medal in a group I’m in. Turns out the briefcase C2C has the partners statue on it. So apparently they decided to only share half the medal?

@AZMermaid To answer your question I suspect no. You might get lucky. They might forget to put a box out. But Friday afternoon seems unlikely

Wonder if I'd feel differently about this if they chose gold or something over whatever this is, it just doesn't pop the way it used to. Same with the rusty looking one.

Ohh nice!! I like the partners statue! I would have showcase that part... still not as good as orginal but better.

Merchandise is so much better for Marathon weekend than it was for Wine and Dine. I didn't get in until almost 2 pm and most everything was still in stock (including medal pins and the like.) So much better than Wine and Dine when I was boarding group 3 in the general queue and a lot of the Figment stuff was already sold out. Fingers crossed Disneyland follows the same form.

I think this is definitely going to be your mileage is going to vary wildly. I just saw someone in one of the groups posting about a merch hawker laying with their merch and because of that kind of behavior not being able to get anything from Group 1.

And in general as much as I love Marathon Weekend its going to have a different pull. Figment is popular I'm not surprised even if it disappointing that they were out of things then. And at DL were talking the first race in 6 years. So there's pent up demand.

Hopefully things will last longer but I don't have faith.

Random thoughts-

I just got an email reminding me to pick up my pre-purchased merch. I'm anxious to get the email with the bib number and corral assignment! The weather is looking ok so far, hard to predict too accurately 11 days out but hoping for no rain. Looked up the results from the last DL race in 2017, it says there were 8,717 Half finishers and 8,197 10k finishers. Last time I ran the DL 10k in 2015 I remember Sean Astin was right up front at the start line. If I remember correctly, he gave a little pre-race speech or countdown or something. Here's a pic of the award I won last time, still proudly displayed with some of my other medals. I don't think they're doing age group awards this year looks like just top 3 overall male/female in each race. I didn't post too often but I did enjoy reading comments and staying in the loop with everyone. It helped keep me motivated. Good luck to everyone and maybe see some of you at the expo. I know I'll be at Napoli Saturday night fur sure!! But now I think I will go for a little run.

I figured there would be something on the other side, part of why I was wondering why people were so quick to judge. Almost all medals have been double sided lately and they only release one side.

Given 6 years of pent up demand, I will be surprised if merchandise makes it to Thursday at 12:00pm.

Unrelated, but the Coast to Coast suitcase medal looks significantly better in person. The current guess is that it's the track 1 medal (Marathon Weekend and Disneyland Half weekend) because of the Partners statue on one side and because it's on display here with the track 1 wall (all medals for the next 2 weekends).

The other Coast to Coast is with the upcoming races.

I did my first and only training run today and it went well and my ears stayed on the whole time (on the treadmill though) so I think I'm officially in okay shape for this race.

I have an inaugural DL Half shirt. But I didn’t run the race. I didn’t train at all and just got the shirt but didn’t run. So I feel weird wearing it because I feel like it’ll get comments. But I also feel like it’s pretty fitting to wear it for the restart. WWYD?
