I stopped by the Aldi near my school today to pick up $60 worth of GCs (mix of Disney and Starbucks). The selection wasn't huge but it had the two I was looking for! Has anyone done only GCs with this offer and already got their 10% back? I noticed a bunch of exclusions on the Aldi offer that I'm not used to seeing on others. I'm taking my dog to her grooming appt this Saturday and conveniently there is an Aldi next door so if the offer works well, I will grab my next $60 at that one.
Did you use the Chase offer or Amex?

I've had two Chase Offers for Aldi where I only purchased DGCs for both transactions and they both redeemed successfully.

I'm balancing offers with P2 not wanting more cards--but it's always nice to realize how much you've saved.

We actually let our friends use our first year of Aulani points so we haven't been--heading there right after school gets out for our twins birthday. I can't wait!
Thats amazingly kind of you! We looked into additional days there then about shart ourselves as we realized the cash price was insane there. You will love it! Our 5 year old still talks about how she enjoyed "Hawaii Disney" lol.

I truly empathize...I've made some mistakes like this too and totally understand that "oh crap" feeling once you realize the goof. 99% of the time, GCs are final sale/non-refundable, but a "plan b" could be to check out the aftermarket gift card websites - people sell all the GCs they get as gifts that they don't want. You lose a bit of the value, but will recoup most of it if you can unload them there. Maybe even buy Disney ones there? I don't know the names of the best/most reputable sites, but I'm sure someone here might.
Unfortunately, it looks like it will be more than a bit of value. Disney plus gift cards are selling as high as 20% off on raise, and then raise charges a 15% commission. So for a $100 gift card, you would get $68.

To be fair, only one person is selling them at 20% off, so it could be they would be able to sell it for a little higher.

The other thing with selling on raise is that there is always the risk that the person who receives the gift card will lie and claim the gift card had no value. I have heard stories of sellers losing money because of this. I think the risk of this is probably low, but it is still a risk.

So it has now been more than a week and all Staples customer service lines are still down from their "minor" cyber attack. (The rumor is it is a ransomware attack, since that is the only reason it would be taking this long). Anyways, since I was desperate, I figured maybe I could try calling giftcardmall directly and see if they would be able to look up the order from Staples since they are the ones who actually fulfill all staples gift cards at the end. I thought for sure they would tell me I would have to call Staples, but I was wrong, they were able to look up the order in their system with just the Staples order number, resend the gift cards to my email, and I finally received them.

So if anyone else is ever in that situation where you order gift cards from Staples and don't receive them, just call giftcardmall at (844) 581-3878 and give them the Staples order number.

For the last 3 years in a row, Lowe's has run a deal on Visa gift cards starting the first Wednesday or Thursday in December. Here is to be hoping they run the deal again!

Thank you so much, I did give it a try and list for 21 percent. I think it is worth it as we have a subscription already for Disney Plus that we pay I think .99 cents a month for.

Thank you so much!!!!! I am giving Raise a try. So mad at myself!!

I’ve got a friend for whom I’d like to buy a pretty good size Michaels gift card ($200-250). Are there deals to be had on Michaels GCs? Or should I plan to grab one with 4x fuel points?

I'm new to the boards but have been following closely for a few months. First post. Giftcards .com currently has 10% off Mastercard Virtual Accounts. Would I be able to buy those and then use them at a retailer such as BJs to buy disney gift cards? If so, are there any drawbacks? I don't see any fees in the T&Cs. I dont have any cashback credit cards, so trying to figure out how to get DGCs at 10%+ off. That is my goal anyway.

When I just looked Raise said they weren’t accepting D+ gc for sale?

Do you personally know anyone with D+? You could offer them an excellent deal on the gc, like 25-30% off cost. The bad part about the gc is it is only usable for monthly subs and if you have an annual sub you save about 20% off the monthly price so you’ll probably have to beat that.

If you truly have no use for it there is always gifting it or donating it to some event to be used as a prize or raffle or something. The $200 becomes a sunk cost but you get something checked off a to-do list at least.

As far as being a dumb mistake, they happen to us all! If so many of us weren’t still scarred from the olden days of mixing up the ShopDisney cards and Disney gift cards making us forever wary of different DGCs more of us would be in your boat.

If you are willing to give an e-gift card (or one you print out yourself) you could buy a one4all gift card since Michael's is one of the 100 stores it can be exchanged for. There are numerous deals around for one4all gift cards, since most supermarkets and stores are now selling them.

Just make sure you are getting the one4all from giftcards.com (it is the one that says on the bottom line of the package "View the brands at giftcards.com/One4all") and not the version that is a Discover card sold by a different company.

This is one of the games that raise plays, where they restrict the sale of certain gift cards to high volume sellers (we know they allow disney plus gift cards on their site since there are other people selling them.) I actually had this happen to me a couple of years ago when I bought a hotels.com gift card on raise and then realized that not all hotels on hotels.com can be paid using their gift card. So I said no problem, I'll just resell it on raise and came to find out that raise restricted the sale of them to high volume sellers. I was really annoyed and because of that have rarely bought anything on raise.

Another option is to sell the gift card on ebay. You will notice someone is already selling them on ebay - they also bought it by mistake.

I'd need a separate thread to list all my dumb mistakes. We should start one called "bargains that weren't" or "my dumbest gc mistakes". So when everyone else is bragging about their deals and bargains snagged, a mea culpa thread like that would make many of us feel better about our own goofs at one time or another. :rotfl:

These are virtual cards, so you can't use them in store at most retailers unless you add them to a wallet like apple pay, google pay, venmo, etc. You can use them online.

However, it is important to point out that many times these virtual prepaid cards (and especially the Mastercards) will work at some merchants and will not work at others. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason why.

The physical Visa gift cards from Blackhawk Network (which is the ones sold at Staples and many other stores) seem to work the best of all of them, as I very rarely have had them not work.

Raise currently is selling ebay GCs at 10% Raise cash back. Could those be used to purchase GCs sold on ebay? I'm not sure I'd take a chance buying a GC off of ebay but I'm wondering if that would work anyway.

No, it would not work. Ebay gift cards can't be used to buy anything on ebay in the gift card category.

Per ebay gift card terms, " The Gift Card may not be used to pay eBay selling fees. The Gift Card also may not be used to buy eBay Gift Cards, third party gift cards, gift certificates, coupons, coins, paper money, virtual currency, or items generally considered to be “bullion” (for example, gold, silver, and other precious metals in the form of coins, bars, or ingots).

Also, ebay is the one gift card to NEVER buy on a 3rd party website. Ebay is known to freeze gift cards on a whim and demand a copy of the store receipt in order to unfreeze them. I wrote about this here on the disboards a while back when this happened to my sister and it took around a month of fighting with them before I finally got it unfrozen.
