I added the target 20% cash app offer and made a $50 gift card purchase but it charged me the entire $50 and didn’t take the 20% off. Has that happened to anyone else and is there a remedy?

I signed up for CashApp last year but never used it. Now I went into the App and it wants my full SSN (not just the last 4). Is this site safe?

Yeah, surrendering my personal info to a site that has no physical location flips me out. They have my last four and that's all they're getting. I load cash to my card at Walgreens so they don't even has access to my bank account.

You could create a new account with a different phone number or contact them.

All the Cash App posts made me check my boosts and there were quite a few good ones and here's what I did:

8/27
* Used 20% Target Boost on Apple GC promo (only had $10 off but I need more Apple GC than Disney right now). Received $10 Target GC.
* Used 10% Walgreen's Boost on 2 $15 DoorDash GC. $3 off. Received $10 Walgreen's GC.

8/28
Rinse and repeat above Target's Apple GC promo except boost was 10% and max $7.50 off plus Walgreen's DoorDash offer.

8/29 (travel day)
* 10% Uber boost for trip from home to airport...saved $7.20
* Filled up rental car with gas with 7-Eleven 10% boost...saved $4.35
* Did another round of Walgreen's DoorDash promo.

I used the physical card in person for the first time at Walgreen's and it works just like a debit card requiring you to input the PIN you selected. Have added the card on Apple Pay as well. I am definitely hooked on it now and love how instantaneous the money transfer is.

If you're traveling, definitely check the boosts...I also had Lyft, AirBnB and Booking. The Booking one has max discount of $2000! There are also a bunch of fast food ones like Chipotle, Subway, McD, Panda Express, etc. all 10% off and are stackable if you have coupons.

I had that happen with my 20% DoorDash boost where it charged me the full amount rather than 20% less. My theory was that I swapped it out with another boost too quickly since with DoorDash it took them awhile to finalize the charge. I let it go since it wasn't a big amount. Did you let the boost sit the whole time?

In the future, you should figure out how much the purchase should be with the discount and then only load that amount (or an amount a little more than that but less than the total would be without the discount) into your cashapp. For example, on the $50 Target purchase, since you are supposed to get 20% off, the total should be $40 after the discount. Therefore, you would only load at least $40 but LESS THAN $50 into you cashapp and that way, if the boost doesn't apply for whatever reason, they will just decline the charge and the order won't go thru instead of charging you the full amount.

When I did the target with cash app I put $40 in my cash app and purchased it via the target website (not target app) on my phone. It says it charged $50 to target but only $40 was taken out of cash app bc I got the instant $10 savings.

Hi. My cash app is finally giving me a Sam's boost (5%). I'm trying to do the math so see which one is the best deal for me. Trying to figure out if I should get an ecard or have it mailed. Up to now I only have ecards (from the target boost) and would like a physical card.

I use cashapp as a payment method for my customers who buy jewelry that I make. So I have money on cashapp often and I did the target disney card thing 2 days ago and was hoping for another offer but nope... just the one. If I'm lucky enough to get a reset I'll do it again.

I take cashapp, venmo, and square when I accept payments so I need to look and see if there are offers like this, I didn't know they existed

Luckily we were able to squeeze in one last 10% off at Target via Cash app this morning, after our 24 hour waiting period but before the offer expired.. with just minutes to spare! That means each of us were able to use the offer 22 times which covers this years trips and next years dues! Big thanks to everyone here 🙌

Something slightly different happened to me. I had the 20% offer selected and when I purchased a $50 gift card, it took $45 (which used the 10% offer instead). You should see the 20% offer still in your offers with a green check mark indicating it's selected. Take a screenshot and chat with them, and they'll credit you. That's what they did for me.

If you have chase cards check your emails.

This popped in a few hours ago for my Freedom.
Did not receive it on any cards so not sure if it is just a Freedom thing.

This was not in the chase website or app under the "Offers" so it appears it is email only.

Interesting. I have a Freedom, but I didn't get that one. Maybe it's targeted.

I got the same offer except mine was for $5 back on spending $100. To me, that offer is worthless. I can get 5% all the time by buying visa and mastercard gift cards at Staples when they are fee free with my Ink card.

Your offer is 6.67%, so at least it is a little better.

Yeah I normally do that but I first tried to use the 10% boost and it was canceled because I bought too many of the same gift cards. The money was already transferred when I swapped to the 20% boost, waited a little, and then made my transaction. It didn’t take it off. Live and learn!

Okay, how do I pay with the Cash App for the Target purchase? I put $40 in my Cash App at this point.
I ordered the card so I have the virtual card, enter in to buy the $50 gift card and I keep getting an error that something is wrong with the card

Nevermind, had to add the offer

A little happy news to share. My Sears MC is having a bonus points special on travel through the end of the year. For every $300 travel in travel related expenses per month, you earn 90,000 points. That's $90, or 30% back!

So I tested it for August. I paid $300 towards our cruise next year. Today, the 90,000 points were credited to my account. I'll redeem them for a $90 Walmart e-gift card, and then use it to purchase a $90 DGC (I have extra points to round up to $100, so I can do that if necessary). And I plan on repeating this process each month until the end of the year!
