I love credit cards so much! v6.0 - 2023 (see first page for add'l details)

Question about the CSP $50 annual hotel credit. Our deadline to use it is by 1/7/24. I'm wanting to use it to book a hotel for May 2024. Is that allowed? Does it charge right away, and not matter if the travel is past the deadline date?

Also, what happens if you cancel? The hotel I'm trying to book says it has free cancellation. Since it's so far out, you never know what may happen or plans change. I'm assuming Chase would claw back the $50 credit at that time too.

Can't help you with the cancellation question but the credit given when you book. I booked a hotel for August and it used last years credit. My card anniversary is today.

If you cancel, they do NOT clawback the credit (have not historically). Some people use this as a loophole to trigger the credit by booking and canceling a refundable stay.

I have no idea who would do this.... :-)
Thank you guys!! I don't plan on cancelling, but it's a Yellowstone/Tetons trip in the beginning of May, and I know weather can be unpredictable at that time, so I want to make sure there's a way out if I have to cancel. I knew I could count on y'all for the answers :D

Does anyone have experience with getting TSA precheck for a child under 13? My son’s birthday is early June, and he’ll be turning 13 next year, and that’s right around the time we normally travel. Can we apply a few months before so that he’ll have it when he’s 13? Thanks!

"All children under the age of 18 can now accompany a parent or guardian through the faster PreCheck line, free of charge."

IHG points+cash booking..... app says if cancelled, full amount is refunded in points, is that true, how does that work?

If you do want to go ahead and get it you can. I got my now 14 yo's when she was just 12 just because it was a convenient time for us and I had the credit. They kept telling me she didn't need it yet, which I understood. I didn't want to explain to them that between then and when she would turn 13 we had a lot going on and I didn't think I could make it back. She was approved in like a day, easy peasy.

Okay, so I submitted what Chase asked for. When I called them, they tried to say they didn't have proof of relationship, which is uploaded and was confirmed on Monday. She said she would manually enter that when I spoke on the phone. They needed an email that said it was cancelled AND no refund was given. Apparently the email saying it was cancelled AND the cancelation policy that states NO REFUNDS, wasn't enough. And they needed the billing statements from the charges (though again, I uploaded prior). So I submitted it all again....we'll wait and see now! I'm so over this though. My BF had this issue when he made a claim on a rental car tire. He finally started yelling at them that he was going to report them for false advertisement of benefits, as he too gave them everything. He said the next day after that call they approved him. So I guess my next step will be to argue that. I have legit uploaded 14 different documents for this claim! Like COME ON! Do you need his 1st grade report card next? Maybe I should upload his hockey stats from last season.

The air in MI was SOOOOO bad yesterday. I think we were ranked the worst in the world. I kept feeling like I needed to clean my glasses. Inside my house was even smoky. It was like 306 here (ha my classroom number, LOL) Today seems a tad better. But if my summer is just going to be grey and smoky and alternating now (finally) with rain, I need to travel more!

Talk to me about Diamond Benefits at Casears. We got in 2 weeks. I already have my card. How do we get the $100 dinner? Also I have hard rock, MGM Gold, and Ocean's Prime. I didn't get to take advantage of the free rooms at the Wynn :( And it's switching to Resorts World July 1. Oh well. I should probably match in Vegas w/ Hard Rock as I think someone said it's different than AC. I wonder is there anyone else I should match too? I have Wynn and Gratzi but never matched to them. I don't think normally you can match after the fact, right? Just trying to figure out all the free we can score next week :)

What does this mean? thanks
IHG also had Mr. & Mrs. Smith luxury boutique properties in their portfolio. I was always intrigued in trying a few out but never got around to it.

There was an announcement that Hyatt was acquiring the Mr. & Mrs. Smith portfolio. So it will be interesting to see if they are bookable with Hyatt points.

I applied this morning and was approved, the link I used still had the 165K points, so hoping that's correct! Just in time because I needed another SUB.

Oops, I didn't quote the message I was replying to. I used the DOC link to apply for the IHG Biz card this morning, just got the approval email. The link now says 140K but when I applied it was still 165, think I'll get those?

Some places will refund even if their policy says otherwise, which is why they are asking for proof. But tbh they could always send you a form to sign, giving them permission to call and ask themselves.

Iffy. The title still says 'ends today' and is dated June 28.

I would say you'll probably get 140K for app'ing today.

But, stranger things have happened.

If it were a Chase link, maybe you could argue, but it's a link provided by DOC in a post written by Doc's team.

EDIT: I've reread your post. If the link said 165K after you opened up the application, I would expect you to get 165K. My first part of this reply was thinking of what the posting said.

I followed the DOC link, but the IHG/Chase page did still say 165 when I applied, so fingers crossed!

Yes, after reading it again I think you'll probably get the 165K.

Let me clarify some more: If you opened the OFFER link in the posting and that said 165K - yes you will probably get it.

If you opened the OFFER link in the posting and it said 140K - than no, you should expect 140K.

Links often have been known to hang around for a bit, and I'm hoping for you that's what you are saying.

Got my passport today (even a day earlier than Informed Delivery said, lol). The new plastic biometrics page is really cool!! How long has it been taking to receive the old, expired passports back?

I got my new passport around May 20 and my old one was included with it. It was shipped either UPS or FedEx, can't remember, but not USPS so maybe that's why? My daughter's renewal came in Dec. and the old one a week or so later in Jan.
