Just wondering for someone who is going to go most likely once in a lifetime are any of these dining packages essential in order to secure seatings to the shows?

WOC Dessert Party is the only way to get a seat in a chair to watch that show. There is VIP seating and a disability section, but general viewing is all standing. The WOC Dessert Party is a very nice experience at the end of a long day in the parks.

The WOC desert party is our splurge. We have done the WOC dining package and it was fine but you still have to hope taller people don't stand in front of you.
We did the Blue Bayou F! Package and that was also good - but my husband has bad knees and can't sit on the ground. There was nowhere for him to go except outside the seating area.

I always do Hungry Bear…just get a burger and fries…you have to eat anyway and it’s worth the $40 to have a viewing spot. Just booked mine yesterday!

WOC isn’t worth $89 for me…I’ve booked a couple of times then cancelled. I’m not a fan of the show and would rather my money go toward something else. Each to his own…

Im still on the fence for the dessert party over the dining package. We've done the dining package before and I get there early to get the rail. Im worried if we get the dessert party that we wont see the projections. Even if we get the high tops. What was your expereince?

Fantasmic’s first showing is the only show difficult to see without a dining package (Hungry Bear, RiverBelle Terrace, or Blue Bayou).

The second showing is late and it’s not too difficult to walk up and get a spot, unless it’s very busy weekend.

World of Color dining packages and dessert party are okay but not necessary. Neither guarantee the best view. The dining package and dessert party viewing is okay, but I’ve gotten better views with the virtual queue and showing up early and again the second show usually has walk up space available.

I’ve done the dessert party twice and have been disappointed both times. The desserts/snacks are very mediocre. The drinks are better but are insanely sweet. You’re really just paying for a chair. However, if you’re not in the first row or high top seating the view kinda sucks, to get one of the good seats you gotta line up early anyway. Some seats you will have the dining package people standing in front, you’re one tier up, but it just puts your seated height equal to their standing height. Some are so off center it’s difficult to see the screen. Did I mention the mediocre desserts, packaged crackers, and dry cheese?

You can see all of the shows without any extra packages, you just might be watching the later shows. If you have young kids Hungry Bear to see the first Fantasmic show is the best bang for your buck. None of the WoC packages are particularly worth it, if you are willing to use the virtual queue and stake out a spot.

Ive seen several pics of those sitting at the WOC dessert party. It seems you only really see the water because of those standing, some with kids on their shoulders. The desserts look like what was given back at the fantasmic dessert party, which we really enjoyed and miss. Thinking I may go for the dining package and camp out at the rail so we can see the projections

I purchased the dessert package on September 2nd. It was the first time we had seen WOC, but I thought we could see the projections just fine. We enjoyed it and definitely liked having a chair. I saw it a couple weeks ago and had a hard time standing for so long. Not to mention tall people blocking my view.

Thanks for the pics! Were you on the high tops? I know some of the projections are at water level. Were you able to see those? We've camped at the rail several times so we have no problem. Its more important that we see the entire projections as my Mechanical engineering/ industrial design major can see for the computer mapping aspect. As nice as the seats would be

World of color dining package with storytellers cafe was worth it to me. Yes, it was standing room only but we waited until the show started before standing. We were in the big round circle area that had stairs leading towards the next area, so we’re somewhat elevated

We were seated for WOC desert party and we had excellent views. We are also both short. I don't remember seriously obstructed views or feeling that we were missing the projections.

Great! Were you front row or high top? First or second show?

I just bought WOC dessert party for my wife and father in law a couple weeks ago. They had an absolute blast. They were at the high tops, I think up one level (there was another party at a table in front of them). They had a fantastic view and could see all the projections. Said the desserts were fine, not amazing but ok. They didn’t know it was $89 each but said we should do it again as a group (I stayed in the hotel with our young daughters who were sleeping).

My father in law’s one complaint was he didn’t know it was a 2 drink limit! He thought it was unlimited and was bummed when he finished his two (small) glasses of wine before the show even started!

Thanks for this! I am hoping to do the second show which Ive heard can be less crowded and try to get the last level of high tops.

I have seen WOC with desert package and dining package. By far and away I prefer the dessert package. I am short, it is inevitable for me to have viewing obstructions when it is standing room only.

Have purchased dessert package 4 times over last decade and every time we had a high top in second row and I saw everything just fine. No obstructions! Yes, you pay $$$ for the seat. The desserts and drinks are mediocre at best. But WOC is my favorite show so I will splurge on it.

I would say the Hungry Bear Fantasmic package is probably the best bang for buck at $35. It's notoriously hard to get a good spot for Fantasmic at Disneyland, and while the food at Hungry Bear isnt amazing by any means, it's solid and having a reserved spot for the show is great! You do sit on the floor but it is in the front and you don't have to camp a spot out for an hour or so to get a decent view.

Just booked hungry bear! I’m still mot sure about the world of color one the desert party snacks are extremely pitiful but is the code that much better than the dining package?

We've done the dessert party many times over the years and have not yet had a bad experience. I'm short, so an unobstructed view is important and not always easy to get. Checking in early and speaking with the CM about any specific needs helps.
We've also viewed the show from just about every other viewing area, dining package and standby. My favorite area is up at the rail, standby, but the dessert party is a close second.
If your DD wants a clear view of the water/fountains, in addition to a view of the projections, your best bet would be to use the VQ and be up at the rail in the wet zone. That view of the water and the fountains in action can't be beat. (You might get damp/wet, so be prepared!)
