We have a 20 pounder we will be cooking. It's only DH, myself and a brother but my oldest DS will be stopping by the next day with the grands so we will have plenty of leftovers for them. (His in-laws don't cook a very big turkey)

It’s just the 2 of us this year and the smallest I could find was 13.35lb so I’ll be using the leftovers in lots of ways. Last year we just bought a small boneless one but they wanted $15 for it this year so I just went with the whole turkey. Only paid about $13 for it and it will go a-lot further.

DS is providing it. It will just be a breast. Not sure how much it weighs. My guess is 6 pounds or so. And there will be ham because DH doesn't like white meat.

I know. I (we - all of us in this house) prefer white meat. I'd just buy a breast to cook it, but it's cheaper to buy the whole bird (and, yes, waste what I don't want).

It's just the 2 of us, but the smallest turkey I could find anywhere locally was 15 lbs , and I had to hunt through a lot of turkeys to find that one. Almost everyone was over 20 lbs. I love turkey, so lots of leftovers will be fine with me

Hopefully 4lb.

I pre ordered a bone in fresh turkey breast for pickup at whole foods on Tuesday, as I do every year. This year its just going to be me and DH eating turkey, but when ordering you choose 4-7lb or 5-9 pounds. When you arrive to pick it up, you tell them whether you want it on the lower or higher end of the scale and they choose one that meets your criteria.

DD got a 14 pounder for free from both me and her using her Shop Rite Price Plus account.

Now we’re working on a reduced price Christmas ham using MY account. I don’t like the freebie ham. We have about $60 left to claim the ham before Wednesday. Shouldn’t be a problem.

We had a turkey breast and popeyes chicken (every grandkid got a leg LOL) last week. DD was afraid to have germy grandkids close to us too near to our trip.

But we got a 15 lb for free, hoping to get about a 18 pound also for free and get a spiral cut ham for $1 a pound. Last two will be for Christmas. Come Christmas will have 15.

3 point oh 7 pound boneless turkey breast. Just the two of us on Thanksgiving. We will have cranberries and pumpkin pie. Our actual Thanksgiving will be on Saturday, on three of us. We're having pork roast, stuffing, yorkshire pudding, spinach balls, home made onion dip and apple pie.

Ours is slightly less than 12 pounds. We really wanted between 14 and 16, but apparently so did everyone else! Our choices at the store I was at were under 12 or over 18. I had no desire to go to multiple stores, so under 12 it is!

Our turkey is for our family gathering on Sunday and we're all having turkey on Thursday too at various dinners, so I don't think having enough turkey will be an issue.

My preference is between 17 and 22lbs. My shopper chose 19lbs this year. Only four of us but we love leftovers and will bag and freeze the rest to use at a later date.

I will buy a 3lb roasted turkey breast from The Home Baked Ham store.

We travel for the holiday and don’t get leftovers so we do a simpler thanksgiving throughout the month of November and prepare or buy our items for “leftovers” so we have them when we get home.
