25K steps a day can we talk about socks?

I'm just wondering what socks most people find comfortable with so many steps. I'm thinking extra cushioning in the balls of the feet would be good but i'm sure some prefer the ones tighter in the arch. just curious.

The socks dont matter to me, its having a bath / foot soak when I get back to the hotel that makes a difference to me. As soon as I get back I run a bath straight away and soak for at least 30 minutes, no matter how late it is. I also use a foot file and give my feet a good massage.

Another trick which works when I remember to to do it, is to take a Tylenol or similar over the counter pain killer around 3pm.

I just wear these cheap thick Hanes. I think what matters is what your feet are used to.

Also get yourself some body glide or their foot glide anti chafe balm and rub it all over your feet in the morning and during a break. Blisters are about friction.. also a tip that has worked well for us to also change shoes throughout the trip..

I was wondering about socks , too. After my last trip my feet were killing me, especially my toes. I have plantar fasciitis and wear special inserts in my shoes but the socks will make a huge difference for blisters.

What does foot glide do, exactly? And are Bombas socks more supportive, or more breathable?

I changed my shoes halfway through every day, and was mostly fine. I definitely need better shoes for my next trip, because for some reason my whole body just keeps getting older.
Socks are tough, because they go missing in my house. I even washed a bunch in a mesh bag last week, and somehow still didn't end up with them in the end.

Foot glide just puts a protective layer on your foot and works kinda like a lubricant to keep friction from happening. It's really wonderful. A7A74A51-BCA3-45CD-B38A-463588F09C1B.png

I swear by compression socks for Disney. I wear them regularly for my job and the last few trips started wearing them at Disneyland and they have made such a difference with my feet and legs at the end of a long Disney day. I recently switched to the Crazy Compression brand and am loving them- lightweight and soft with great but comfortable compression. And they have a lot of fun designs!

I'm not a sock style, brand or type expert. I bring extra pairs for the days that I wear socks. Often times, I'm barefoot in my Keens and that just suits me fine, actually.

I grew up the in the country. We ran bare foot everywhere as kids. I don't know any better. Civilization is so foreign to me...socks, who knew?

Smartwool socks with my keen hiking sandals. It's sound weird, wool socks in summer, but they really keep your feet dry during the day, dry fast if they get wet on a water ride. Now, socks with sandals may not be the most fashion forward...but no blisters!

Flip flops!!!! Or sandals if you prefer. I even wear flips in the dead of winter with good quality tabi socks.

But if I must wear shoes, I wear either Darn Tough or SmartWool socks. I think the Darn Tough are just a wee bit thinner (relatively speaking) than SmartWool so would be better in hotter weather. Oh, and SmartWool does make 'No show' socks (ie Peds) that I've worn with Skechers and Keds. They used to make them in an 'oatmeal' color that was pretty good at blending in with my skin tone if they 'peeked' over my shoes They do an OK job of not slipping off the heels like a lot of them tend to do, but eventually you have to start pulling them back up over your heels.

I've looked at the Bombas, but the price keeps me from ordering them, especially since they're 'pig in a poke'. If I'm going to pay that much for socks, I want to actually see and feel them.

I didn't grow up in the country, but where I grew up we went without shoes from Easter - Columbus Day, sometimes even longer. In fact, I can remember being able to go barefoot to grammar school as a kid. I think we were allowed to do that until around 5th grade when the school put in a 'no barefoot' policy.

I agree with bringing extra socks to DL, if one must wear socks at least let them be 'fresh'.
