Bring back the adult pool!

With the grills open, ama ama rumoured to be opening, the adult hot tub jammed to capacity, no place for adults to hang, and restrictions loosening - it’s time for the adult pool to reopen! We arrived today around 11:30am @ poolside after getting our checkout organized, there were no chairs available, and the pool-formerly-known-as-the-adult-pool (PFKATAP) was packed with kids. There are little to no places for adults to chill at Aulani when it’s this busy,

Lets make the adult pool great again ;)

Never liked the Aulani adult pool. Felt cramped and generic with little theming. My wife and I don’t have kids but love Aulani, and usually camp out on the lounges in front of what was Ama Ama. Near the pool and beach, and usually no kids.

We love that area too, but always packed while we were there….

I'm still operating on the theory that the adult pool will be restored when Auntie's Beach House reopens. The adults get their spot back when the kids get their spot back, as it were.

I also think Makahiki and AMA AMA are linked. I see AMA AMA reopening when Makahiki is allowed to go back to a buffet.

The only time that I use the adult pool area is in the early mornings. I would bring down my coffee and NOOK while my daughter is still sleeping, and read in peace. But we prefer to hang out on the beach. For me, I am landlocked and am a 2 day drive in any direction to get to an ocean but I can hang out at a pool anytime. So I love putting my feet in the sand and relaxing on the beach. But I 100% agree that it should go back to adult only. There are plenty of other spaces for kids.

Don’t get me wrong, I love the ocean too (the Canadian province I live in, Nova Scotia, is called ‘Canada’s Ocean Playground’). We live so close to the ocean in any direction! However, not so much in February unless you want to freeze your toes off. Outdoor pools are less frequent here, and DH having been a competitive swimmer his whole life, has a taste for chlorine ;). It was busy in the lagoon too tho at times, lots of paddle boarders and swimmers. So some times had to navigate around all of that! But could always find a lounger with shade!

We would love for the adult pool to reopen. After our September trip I filled out the survey and listed that as my most significant negative. Actually will not consider going back until they change.

sadly, we're already booked for April, but that will be the last trip we ever make unless this is rectified

My spouse and I were planning our first stay at Aulani when covid shut everything down. Now we're waiting until Ama Ama and the adult pool open back up before we make a reservation.

I'm an adult heading over in about a week. I like being around kids; that's why I choose a Disney resort. However, I'm really bummed about the refillable mugs. I think it's interesting that different missing items bother different people.

I’ll be curious to hear how you feel about your experience. We are Disney people, but this was really over the top with regards to kids , personal space, and having some peace!

just back from a week at Aulani - the resort is beautiful BUT they desperately need an adults only pool again. I talked to a few CMs there, and they all said its the number one complaint they hear - nowhere for adults to go to be adults. The hot tub has about 10 chairs and I have no desire to be in a hot tub in 85 degree weather.
What about that seating area right in front of Ama Ama? We’ve found it relatively nice and quiet, and near enough to the pool. I found the former adult pool to be stuck in a corner and kind of depressing.
