***Official DLR November 2021 Check-in Thread***

Big Thunder Mtn is currently closed for refurbishment with an unknown “Fall” reopening date. Seems like people think it’ll be open by 11/3, but no official word yet.

Finding Nemo subs are closed with an opening date of “Winter” so they may not be open 11/3.

The DTD Pumpkin scavenger hunt will probably end with Halloweentime on 10/31. However, you can always do your own scavenger hunt. one option would be searching for hidden Mickeys (there’s a book available in park or as an app).

We are really going to be sad if Big Thunder Mountain is not open again by Nov 6. TOP RIDE for us for sure.

Nov 6 - 13 (fly home 14th), Merriest Nites the 11th - staying at Ayres Orange hotel
Dining ressies for : Blue Bayou, Cafe Orleans, and Carnation Cafe. So far still can't get Oga's Cantina (but walk up could work for that).
Great job on getting some reservations... it has been quite the process lately....

November 20-25. I think we'll be at Hampton Inn & Suites on Katella, unless I decide to change our reservations. We've been doing Hiltons lately for points for our trip to Tokyo Disney! :) We're at Home2 Suites by Hilton now!

Got my LL for the 22nd, still waiting on Trader Sam's and Carnation to drop. Cabanas were sold out when I called at noon at day 60 of my check in day, so ended up with a full day at the DLH rather than the half day at GC we'd was hoping for, but we're happy to have anything on check in day. I've never had to chase reservations this much at DL before. Its very weird.

We're at the VGC from 11/20-23.

Btw if anyone is flying in and doesn't have their flights yet, SW is having a good sale. I generally book my tickets the day prices come out then watch to see if they drop and I got a decent amount of points/credit back for my flights today so pretty stoked about that.

Well, I'm planning on going to DL the 14th-16th (flying in the day before/home the day after). I've booked a hotel. I've bought my Merriest Nites ticket. My husband is on the fence. I have a local friend who will hopefully join me for a day or so. That said, I'm considering a different hotel (there's a 4th night free thing when you book through Disney at some Good Neighbor Hotels, but it's slightly farther away and I am, right now, a solo female traveler), but we'll see. I still need to buy airfare and arrange for a shuttle service, but that kind of is waiting on my husband's waffling.

First it was: oh, sigh, I'll go with you, since I know you want to go.
Second it was: I don't want you going alone. How about (local friend)?
Last night, turned into: maybe I'll just tag along to go to the Avenger's campus.

Welcome to coming in November!!! I hope you can get an answer out of your hubby if he wants to come or not. If I was on my own I would try to stay as close as possible. A few years ago my friend who came with me wasn't feeling so great so I went into the parks myself that day. Got a coffee walked around and did a lot of people watching. Went on a few rides and it got me thinking about doing a solo trip on my own.

He just committed! I've done a hair over 24hrs at WDW and it was bliiiiiiissssssss. The first part of the trip had been with a friend and it ended up being a little tense. However, traveling with my husband is a pretty chill experience, so I'm not saying I WANT to go without him. I just don't NEED to go with him. :)

Perfect.... maybe you can send him over to Avengers campus and go find him later hahaha... Have a great trip!!!

I am a former Disney Store CM in Canada and will be coming Nov 8-15.. I'm solo until my husband joins my on the 11th. First solo trip and first trip without kids. I **hopefully** will also have 3 other friends going with their families who are also former CM but we shall see since the US is changing rules for flying in and you can't have mixed vaccines which all of them have!!! I'm be there regardless though :)

Since it's just us two adults for this trip, is there any concern with just getting a cab when we land at SNA? And will our hotel call one for us the night before we need to depart? My only vague concern with the latter is that we have a mid-morning flight and will need to work around rush hour traffic.

I have been watching park hours for November and see that Veteran's Day hours are posted. Seem strange to me that DL closes at 7pm that day, especially since the hours on previous days are later than that. Any idea why the park is closing early heading into a long weekend?

It's because of the Merriest Nites after-hours party.

Just booked a trip for me, my daughter, and my 4-year-old grandson Nov 14-16 (fly in the day before and out the day after). Forgot I had an old DLH reservation from Dapper Day before Covid; I'd let it ride for the past 2 years and they're honoring the original price of $334 :). No dining reservations (well, my friend offered me a res for Club 33 but I'd have to foot the whole bill so....we'll see). I'm not interested in stalking dining ressies so we'll kind of play that by ear.

We had reservations pre-covid for dapper Days too, how did you go about getting that old rate?

I had a hotel reservation for spring 2020. When it was canceled, they said I could either get a refund or keep the hotel res for fall. It got deferred so many times I lost track, LOL. Whenever the current DD got canceled, they asked if I wanted to keep the reservation for next time and I just kept saying 'yes'!

Ahh, that makes sense. Smart move!
