We did DCL to Alaska and had the same itinerary minus Sitka. Definitely later is better. Bear season is July-September so the later in June, the more likely you'll see bears. I booked most of our excursions through Chase portal with URs. Recommend Juneautours.com for whale watching and Mendenhall glacier in Juneau.
Thanks! Did you fly directly into Vancouver? Debating between flying into Seattle and taking the train to Vancouver or not. Any hotel recommendations for Vancouver?

Do you still have the Premier? I read that you can get a statement credit at 1 cpp now. But I don't know if it's targeted. I even saw a DP that the Rewards+ could cash out at 1 cpp, but when I checked mine it was only 0.5.

@punkin You can also pay mortgage and car loans at 1 cpp.
I still have the Premier and a Sears card that earns TYP. I thought cash was less but GCs and some other things were 1 cpp. I'll have to check when I get home. I've only used for Disney tix and travel portal booking.

We flew nonstop ORD to YVR.
We stayed pre Cruise at Hyatt Vancouver which was nice. They treated us well even sending a basket of fruit and snacks to our room. IIRC they upgraded us to a higher level floor which sounds good until the fire alarm goes off at 3 am. Post Cruise we stayed at the Westin Bayshore. I upgraded our room to a lovely corner with an awesome view of the water and we watched the Disney Wonder sail out on her next trip. Pre Cruise we were there 3 days ahead so also saw Grouse Mountain and Capilano Bridge. We loved Vancouver. It's a beautiful city, lots of walking paths and delicious food.

Hi folks, I need some help thinking about timing for applying for Chase SW Business cards this fall in order to get a CP in early 2022. Just got CSR and CSP this past June. Is it too soon to apply for the SW Business Performance? I will be getting some landscaping done this fall and want to use the card since that project alone will meet the MSR. I also don't want to wait too long so I can the second business card in early December or thereabouts. December is a big spending month so I'd probably meet the MSR on the Premier Business within the month. Any thoughts on timing (or any of this)?

This would be my first business card btw
You say "get a CP in early 2022", do you mean that you want the CP to be valid for 2022 through 2023? If so then you must make sure that all 125k RR points post to your RR account in 2022. If you meet your MSR on the biz cards in 2021 and the bonus posts to your RR account in 2021, then those points won't count for a 2022-2023 CP.

If you just want a CP for an early 2022 trip, then you could meet both MSRs in 2021 and get CP for the remainder of 2021 through 2022. Obviously you have more potential value if you can time it so that the bonuses post in 2022 instead, but it is a little riskier if you have a jan/feb trip you are planning to use it for. It's still possible to time it so that you get most of the spend completed in 2021 but hold off finishing it so that the bonuses post in 2022. Have you checked out the SW CP Fireside Chat post on our private DISchurners subreddit? That has good advice on timing and card selection.
Or at least checked out the r/churning SW CP megathread with the catalog of CP failures? Learning all the pitfalls from others mistakes can help shape your personal timing.

I'm not aware of any shut down reports with a MDD. Worst case it fails and he wastes a hard pull or two. If he does do the MDD, it would be better if his next Chase card is more than the usual 3 months gap. Safer to not be averaging more than one card every 3 months.

Yes, he would keep both Sapphires at the same time.

If he decided to do the MDD tomorrow, I assume there is no way for me to support him on the CSR application since I only have a CSP. So, I should check the reddit group for a referral for him?

Thanks.

I believe PYB with Chase is extended until Dec 31. DoC is reporting it.
So the PYB option is going to be around until 12/31/22 at least, it's just a question of a) what categories will be available and b) what the point value will be. Unless Chase made a typo with a date. But I'm in the camp that if they spent all that time developing this new feature, it's going to be around for a bit.

At the moment Charities is showing as expiring 12/31/22. The CSR annual fee is expiring 12/31/21. The other categories expire 9/30/21.

I'm hoping a couple of the existing categories stick around again but I wouldn't mind seeing something new. My money is on restaurants sticking around and the internet/cable/phone category on the Biz side. But that's just my guess.

Jumping in here. We are looking at Europe for May/June 2023, when DD graduates from college. It would most likely be my family of 4 plus my brother, sil and niece and other brother and sil. Kids are all adults in their 20's. Originally we were just going to go to a few countries, but now am leaning more towards a cruise. Mediterranean is one of the possibilities (waiting for all the cruise lines to release the 2023 Europe cruises). What cruiseline did you go on and where did you fly into. Trying to get some miles for airlines ( I have plenty of UR"s but am trying not to use them for air if I don't have too - was thinking maybe United or AA??

We sailed DCL (totally not necessary though) in Europe. We had a one-way itinerary, so we started in Copenhagen and ended in Dover, so we spend a few days in CPH before the cruise and a few days after in London. It's really nice to not have to worry about hotels and dining every day. I've done land-based trips to Europe before, but they were more work to plan and more stressful. I really enjoyed taking the cruise. We did splurge on a few private tours in select ports, but the stuff we wanted to do in other ports was really not expensive. Adding a few days before the cruise was really fun, plus it's a good buffer in case you have any issues with the airlines.

We flew directly into Vancouver, which was quite a bit more $$$ than going into Seattle, but DM came with us and she has limited mobility and we had to do what was the easiest for her. We stayed at the Pan Pacific, because it was right above the dock DCL uses so all we had to do was take an elevator down to the ship. There were some lovely Fairmonts there as well, but DM can't walk a block and again I needed to do what was least difficult for her. I know there are different places in Vancouver where the ships dock, so I'd find out where you'll be taking the ship and go from there. The PP was great because we could watch the harbor and see sea planes landing and taking off, as well as refueling at floating gas stations from our room. We also saw the ship sailing under the bridge and arriving at the port the morning we were going to embark, and that was pretty exciting. If you're interested in excursions I can share what we chose - there are so many great options over there.

Thanks for this. Yes, I read the fireside chat... I'll also look through the failures megathread. I was thinking that 115 days would apply for meeting MSR but I see that may not be the case. So perhaps I'll get another card for now as someone else suggested for some upcoming spend and try one of the SW card in early Nov rather than early . I do have trips in Jan but would rather maximize the CP through 2023.

Just for clarification, you have two separate businesses for the two SW business cards, correct (e.g. SSN/EIN sole prop)? I don't believe you can get the bonus on two business cards with the same business. Also, if you get the CP this year, you're basically wasting a year of it.

Chase tends to want you to space out your cards by 2-3 months. So, maybe get a different business card now for your fall spend, then get the SW business card in November/December, hit that spend in January 2022 and then get a SW personal card (or 2nd business card with a different business) in early 2022 to complete your CP for 2022-2023. Chase doesn't care as much about manufactured spending, so you can always do Venmo transfers to a trusted family member or friend (who sends the money back to you in a non-Venmo way) if you need help meeting MSRs quickly.
Hmmm, meeting MSR quickly isn't usualy a problem, but no, I don't have two businesses...
I think you can hold both SW Business cards (for the same business) but only one personal card.
I hope you're right! Anyone else know for sure?

Terms:
"This new Cardmember bonus offer is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of this business credit card, or (ii) previous Cardmembers of this business credit card who received a new Cardmember bonus for this business credit card within the last 24 months."

Key word "this".

Compare to terms for personal card:
"The product is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of any Southwest Rapid Rewards® Credit Card, or (ii) previous Cardmembers of any Southwest Rapid Rewards Credit Card who received a new Cardmember bonus within the last 24 months. This does not apply to Cardmembers of the Southwest Rapid Rewards Business Card and Employee Credit Card products."

You don't need two businesses. Just check out the offer details of each business card -

This new Cardmember bonus offer is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of this business credit card, or (ii) previous Cardmembers of this business credit card who received a new Cardmember bonus for this business credit card within the last 24 months.

Bolding is mine. Getting both cards is perfectly valid for a single business. There's no card family restrictions on the business cards. The only restrictions are on the personal cards. You could have 3 total SW cards if you really wanted - one of the personal cards and both biz.

Son and Dil landed, got their car, stopped at Costco by the airport for room snacks and waters.

They've checked into the Westin and were upgraded to the newer tower - Hokupa'a.
That's awesome! When I made the reservation by phone with Marriott, the CSR added in a request for an upgrade. Could have gotten high floor with suite nights but in the older part so I didn't bother as I was hoping for this.

Tomorrow they will relax in one of the beach cabanas that they booked in advance!

Rebooked our 2022 Summer cruise for a May Mediterranean yesterday. It took forever. Several times Costco was too busy and disconnected me. And Disney Cruise was backed up too. I have a $6500 credit coming back to me. I already had gift cards for excursions so I'll save it for another cruise.

Next up is plane tickets. I'm thinking Richmond to Barcelona, London to Richmond with a few days in London post-cruise. I still have on 2021 $200 FHR credit which I think I'll use for Barcelona. Then I'll use Bonvoy points for London. Plane tickets look to be about $1150 for Economy Plus so I'll use about 40% of my UR stash.

I’m not going to lie. I have been kind of nervous about whether or not our April Hawaii trip will happen.
When I finished booked our dvc stay yesterday and the girl said “You are going to Hawaii!” I felt pretty good. I thought hey, 7 months is a long time. Who knows what things will look like.

Have today off. I don’t usually have Tuesday off and it was going to be the first day since March 2020 I had the house to myself. If I am home from work someone else is here. Today the older kids would be at school and DD4 is finally back in daycare.

Got an email last night DS6 has been exposed at school and needs to stay home. Whomp whomp. So much for a day alone. I guess I’ll try again in next month.

Also getting an the COVID exposure email the day before our Hawaii trip is my greatest fear😬😬😬😬😬

If I close my Chase Ink Cash how long so I have to wait to get the same card again. Don’t want the CIP and have had CIU under a year.
