Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE RESORTS Information & Questions

@The13thLetter my assumption is that they will do it just like after hours events, while they won't kick the others out they won't be able to ride the rides. You'll have your phone, key card or Magic Band scanned and that will allow or deny you entry to the ride.

Thats a good point. But with the old EMH that were only accessible to on site guests, they didnt do that did they? i dont remember ever tapping into a ride duing EMH but i could be misremembering. will be interesting to see. just glad its official that swolphin is included.

Yes, old PM EMH was handled via needing to scan proof of eligibility at the ride entrance. They wouldn’t do any active park clearing, just depended on the ride check points to control access.

AM EMHs had to scan at entry to the park and/or land (depended on the park).

I'm so happy to hear about the early access and the evening hours is an even better surprise! I was already trying to budget for one of the other Epcot-area hotels and was getting bummed that I wasn't going to be staying at the Swan on points...sooooo very happy now!

Yep, I remember being scanned multiple times when we’ve stayed at the Swan. And, even knowing that hotel was included, there was always a sigh of relief when we’d get waved through 😄

Ok, extra magic hours is really official. But the JW still isn’t included. That is very surprising since JW is the “highest” ranking of the four properties (Sheraton, Westin, Autograph, JW Marriott) on the Marriott hotel tiers.

I think that is the old page maybe. It still calls it EMH (which it has a new name now) and it says right at the top that they will not return and something new will come with the 50th (unless i am misreading it, which is 100% possible).

Be interesting to see crowd levels with only deluxe resorts/vacation club guest....

Like most I expected the early hours, but not the evening hours.... I know S/D are considered deluxe resorts, but they aren't Disney. I fully understand how this will make folks stayng at a moderate at in some cases double the S/D, a little upset. Too bad for them....

What's next.... new Dining Plan is offered to S/D guest as well? ;)

Of course at that point we will be seeing full retail prices on rooms most times....

I don't like being the bearer of bad news, but at this time (2:10 PM Central time on 7/16/21) the Swan and Dolphin are not listed on the official WDW webpage for Extended Evening Theme Park Hours HERE. Yes, it can change, so I'm keeping that page bookmarked for future reference.

@CarolynFH but consider Disney's IT department.. I wouldn't expect anything less from them. How many issues do we all have trying to even get an ADR, you think this would be easy, but for Disney it's not. There is no way that S/D would put this out on their Facebook page if it wasn't happening.

I found it interesting that the Swan Dolphin Facebook page had a bunch of questions about the extra hours, but none on the JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek page (at least going back to July 1). I do wonder if they are focusing on a completely different clientele, it was only their July 1 that even showed a bit of Disney imagary in them (nighttime fireworks and Mickey ears).

Same goes for the Sheraton Vistana Villages pages, thought somebody at Sheraton needs to figure out why they have that page, plus Sheraton Vistana Resort which hasn't been updated since March 2020 and another (maybe not run by them) hasn't been touched since 2017.

Yes, I know, which is why I'll check that bookmarked page periodically.

Yes, that's the link for the 30-minute Early Entry in the morning. I was talking about the Evening Extended Hours for the Disney Deluxe/Deluxe Villa hotels, and that list as of this moment still doesn't include the Swan or Dolphin. Fortunately, we have until October 1 to resolve the question.

After giving up months ago on being able to link my Reserve conf# with MDE, this good news made me try again. And it worked! :cool1:

What did you do? I still haven't be able to do so. I tried getting help with the chat in MDE, but they couldn't do it either. They finally suggested I call Dolphin. I wonder if there is a typo in my name in their system, bc I'm copying my confirmation number directly from my email. I guess it really doesn't matter since my stay is before the EMH starts, but it bugs me.

Booked S/D on whim, due to a travel credit that could be used there. Had a HUGE trip for the 50th planned. Poly booked, and had been since dates opened last year. Originally planned a big trip for family and taking my mom to WDW for the first time. We are DLR natives and it is on her bucket list. That was until .... she got engaged! And they will be on their honeymoon during the dates I had booked. Fast forward to now, I rearranged everything for my spouse :donald: and I to go it alone. Changed Poly to a split stay between CSR and S/D to use up my expiring travel credit. I was worried, I have never visited S/D and knew nothing about it when I booked. But look at this! We get the bonus morning entry, my stay for 4 nights in 'free' minus the resort fee, and this 50th business is shaping up to be very exciting. Tuning in to learn as much as I can about S/D before our September arrival. I was able to link my reservation via a 3rd party to MDE, and get MDE all dialed in with both reservations, tickets linked to apple watches and we are hitting planning mode as dining reservations open. It seems historically Disney has been able to transfer luggage from on property to S/D hoping that is still the case. My only bummer is lack of MDE for the trip back to the airport, but we will live. I am looking forward to trying a new resort and learning as much from this thread as I can :tink:

Hi
How is your experience with the frequency/ availabitlity of buses from and to the hotel? Thanks!

Sometimes reservation numbers obtained through third party booking sites, including COSTCO, cant be linked with MDE. S D will give you the alternate, linkable number if you call.

i have been able to link my costco reservation in MDE.

I booked directly with Dolphin online. I will call and see what's up. What is the advantage of having the hotel linked? Right now there are no fp, or EMH
My trip is first week of August/
