What is your opinion on the United Kingdom?

My parents have the TV on all the time, unless they are sleeping. They use it like background noise, like elevator music, so it isn't too quiet. I grew up thinking that was normal.
When I moved out I realized how lovely peace and quiet is. At this point the only reason our TV goes on is if the kids decide to watch a movie. I love quiet.

When I was in fourth grade we moved to a new house, so I went to a new school (Catholic, previous school was also Catholic). This school had an additional part of the uniform, a beanie that had to be worn by all the girls when we went to church. It was like a beret. I was so stubborn and flat out refused to buy one. My old school didn't require it, so why would I have to? I was forced to rent one every time we had to go to church at $0.25. I did this until I graduated 8th grade just to make a point LOL.

Meat color doesn't always correlate with whether or not it's safe to eat. Pink insides can actually be safe to eat as long as the temperature reaches a certain range.

Hence why I said to cook it to the appropriate temperature.

Legally separated after being with Ex-wife since 1994, and married since 2001--- a few years ago, she claimed she was having a "mid-life" crisis... which I never realized was another term for having "an affair".. (i can joke about it now)

Left me with my two wonderful kids. (100% custody) .. 14 and 9 (my avatar) -- now a single (exhausted !! :)). dad (remote/virtual) school killing me ! its been tough on them, but we are like the three amigos now !!

I’m so sorry to hear this. I’m sure you’re a great dad and your beautiful kiddos see that. And that’s all that matters. I was dating a guy for a bit and there were minor problems in the relationship, but I didn’t realize it was that bad. Needless to say, he decided after a month, he’d rather date someone younger. 10 years younger and now he’s married to someone else 11 years younger than him. I don’t have a problem with the age difference, but it caught me off guard. Especially when I was much older than the two females, have a career, independent, and the list goes on. After I thought a lot about it, I figured maybe he’d rather be broke by taking care of someone, than meeting halfway and doing everything together. I don’t know. I said he was going through a mid-life crisis himself, because not only did he leave me out of the blue, he decided to buy a truck, that he knew he didn’t need and would kill his pockets. But, those were his decisions to make, not mine.
I hope things have gotten better for you and your kiddos.

Married 46 years in September ❤
Met March 5, 1975 when we were both seniors at different schools. Engaged in May and married September 27, 1975.

Oops...didn’t realize this was an old thread and I had already replied to it☺

Hahaha, I haven’t been on here in a long time, so I started it back up. 46 years is amazing. I’m 37 years old, with two kids, never been married and single for almost 5 years. I sure wish (and still hope) I can find someone to spend many years with, before it’s too late.

My sister and I used to dunk chocolate chip cookies into iced tea. That's the one that immediately springs to mind.

I liked to gather acorns, remove the outer hulls, and grind them into powder with rocks. I was convinced that Indians did this to make flour.
