Worried about my trip help please

I planned a trip for week of July fourth. Usually I would have not done this, but with reduced capacity I didn’t think much of it. But now COVID numbers are going down I worry that they will be at max capacity by then. I would take 50 or even 75 but max capacity during that busy time of year would ruin my trip. Also if they do will it be with Fast pass or without Fast pass, and how long before this will they announce it. Full capacity without Fast Pass would be miserable. Any rumors out there or thoughts

Regardless of what the capacity ends up being, rope dropping the parks will be your best friend. Amazing what you can get accomplished in the first two hours before the masses hit mid-morning!

If you wait until rope drop, you're too late. The rides are running an hour before the opening time of the park.

*Purely speculation informed from watching the DISboards*, but...

Will it be crowded? Yes, travel nationwide is ticking up due to greater vaccination. Plus monitoring park availability suggests heavy demand.

But, there have also been reports of CMs being called back to work. So I'd like to think that they are planning for this increased demand. So we'll see. In our current environment, I'd expect a good bit of development before you get there in July.

I really don't think FP+ will return before then (if ever, in its former form).

I think the secret to a happy trip this summer will be flexibility. The worst day at WDW is still pretty good!

The question is 50% capacity in July is more like a early June day is my thinking correct. I have never been to the park when it was 100% capacity anyway. So I understand it will be busy, but busy at 50 or busy at 100 is different. My hope is people are putting off hoping to get the best bang for the buck around the start of 50th celebration. Also how far in advance did Disney say they were going from 20 to 35 capacity

Watch the park passes. If you wait to long they might all be gone. It's going to be busy no matter what. The no crowds during covid are gone, lots of people vaccinated and traveling now.

I’ve already got my park passes. My concern isn’t waiting in line I have scheduled 8 days. My current concern is June 21s Disney announces 100% capacity then I’m stuck with my hotel. I’m staying off site. And getting there early.

If you have a park pass they have to let you in tho. It's when trying to hop you can be turned away from being at capacity

Currently, at 35% capacity the parks feel like an average to crowded day at Disney. That’s because the lines are spilling into the walkways for social distancing and lots of shows and restaurants are still closed. I don’t think they’ll raise capacity again until they open more things and/or lessen social distancing in lines. There would be no where for people to go if they raised capacity without opening more things. I don’t see them doing all of those things before July. In the end, 35% of their total occupancy is still a lot of people. The parks almost never operate at 100% and reach capacity (like maybe on Christmas or New Years), so I wouldn’t get too hung up on the percentages. Without any capacity limit, a crowded day at MK likely is not much more than 50% of their total capacity, so even if they removed all capacity limits I wouldn’t expect capacity to shoot up to 100%. Again, I don’t think they’ll do anything until they can accommodate more guests in the park while keeping guest satisfaction reasonably high.

A big +1 to this. The percentages are useless. Tens of thousands of people with no where to go but the attraction lines and main street is packed. I would think that there would be more people in July than today to make up for the extra hotels that are opening before then. Few thousand more guests?

Just a note of clarification that so far Disney has always allowed park hopping even when all 4 parks were at capacity for park reservations.
Correct if the park reservations are all full that dosnt mean they are capacity for hopping but if for some reason the park hits capacity they can deny entry for hopping. Which I do not believe has happened yet.
Are you talking about park RESERVATIONS (not “passes?”)
In Disney speak, “passes” are admission tickets and APs.
Sorry if I was confusing I always just call them tickets. And the new reservation system as a pass. I will make sure to fix my wording in the future.

When you say no where to go what do you mean. I know there will be wait times since no fast passes. I look at wait times for rides right now and I see long wait times and these same days no more reservations can be made for certain parks. So if it stays 35% or

I expect it to be busy I’m just the most negative person ever.
I'm going early oct. Remmy is opening and it's the 50th. I told my husband it's gonna be legit a zoo and we will do what we can. (I'm normally a super planner) if we do one ride we do one ride that eat some food. But we will not stress the crowds. Just enjoy your time and it won't matter how many ppl are around.

Most of the lines aren’t as long as they seem. Most are overestimated by at least 10 minutes. Plus the lines physically move faster so it keeps the wait much more enjoyable since you get to change scenery more often. Strangely some of the longest waits are for things like It’s a Small World and headliners like 7DMT and Space Mountain have shorter waits. Again, even if they completely remove covid capacity limits I wouldn’t expect the parks to reach regular capacity (except for maaaaybe the 50th??). If they don’t open more things or lessen social distancing and then raise capacity, it will be miserable, but Disney isn’t stupid. They don’t want guests visiting and complaining about their bad experience. Little by little I think they’ll open more things and either slowly (and unbeknownst to you) raise capacity or wait to raise capacity until later. Remember their capacity is self-imposed so they have no obligation to announce what their capacity is or how many people are in the parks (and they usually don’t). They can totally raise capacity and not make an announcement, but if they do that and don’t have places for people to go you’d be able to tell. Just keep an eye on announcements and read people’s trip reviews for tips. Most trip reports I’ve seen day that people have still had a great time!
