Can someone please remind me if the Amex airline credit is working on SW if you pay for part of a ticket and what you charge is < $100. Hoping I can get a luv certificate for unused EBCIs and use the certificate to pay for part of a ticket to Fort Myers for my birthday.

Awesome gift card deals this week at:
Staples
OD/OM
Just 4 you

Frequent Miler has information about all 3 👍🏻

So I should be able to go to Staples for no fee and Office Depot for $10 off and use CIC for 5% each time. The go to Albertsons (Listed with Safeway in the Frequent Miler article) for another $10 off and use my CF since this quarter includes grocery stores? That should net close to $60 buying three $200 gift cards with the 5% each time and the no fee and $10 off twice.

Can confirm Just 4 U $10 off also works on variable load cards. They have variable load cards up to $500.

ETA: the $10 savings doesn’t ring up (at least at my store) until the VERY END of the transaction, like right before I swipe my payment.

Do you have to give them anything at the store? I've never used Just 4 U. The $10 Visa deal has been added to my account.

For those of you with lots of spend right now, what are your strategies? Between taxes and tuition we have quite a bit of spend in the next 6 weeks. I typically would put this on a MSR or the Delta Reserve to help maintain DH status. We only have a small amount left on our CIP MSR, but not sure I want to put the rest of the spend on the Delta Reserve since they are rolling over the status for next year. We could go for Delta Diamond to get those Global Upgrades for our Italy trip next year, but it would require a boatload of spend since he isn't flying these days and the upgrades aren't a sure thing.

With all our summer trips cancelled our balances are pretty healthy right now and we have tons of Delta credit. Here are some of the cards we have in case I am missing something. Delta Reserve, Amex Biz Platinum, BBP, CIU, Hilton Aspire, Marriott Biz, CIC, CSR, EDP. Since I don't have any Plastiq promotions, it would cost about 2% for the taxes and just not sure the rewards would justify. Any thoughts?

Any Hilton Head experts on here? @Judique I know you visited the Disney resort earlier this year. I am looking at replacing my Glacier trip with a drive to the ocean/Hilton Head trip. Renting a condo so we can isolate if needed. Wondering if there is a preference in beaches. I am looking at condos near Coligny Beach Park, Folly Field and in Palmetto Dunes. Any thoughts to help me narrow it down? Thanks.

BTW on Glacier. Yes the park is opening part way. Right now only 1/3 or so is open. If the Indian Reservation doesn't open we won't be able to explore two areas we would want to and stay in Many Glacier, dining will be extremely limited due to limited help being able to work in the park (they have to provide lodging), boat tours were closed, shuttles are currently closed. It just wasn't going to be the trip I have planned (twice now). And to top it off, no one is feeling like flying right now. So I'll try again next year.

So sw refunded my ebci because the schedule changed for my tickets to Seattle that I had to cancel. But then I realized I used my 2019 platinum travel credit. Will amex claw back the refund?

never mind—it looks like I used my 2020 airline credit.

Don't really have a good answer on this. I’m mulling over the same question with propane prebuy end of this month (winter heating), college tuition, and car and homeowners insurance due all this summer. I just don't think a Plastiq promo is coming soon. Does anyone else? I hope I’m wrong. I’ll be 4/24 until early October, but don’t mind using my personal slot now.

Coligny and Palmetto Dunes are both close to a lot of dining options. Folly Field is not that familiar to me. The beach at both Palmetto and Coligny is pretty much the same - wide, great for walking and sitting out. I haven't stayed anywhere except Disney so I haven't got any go to condo tips for you. I've almost stayed in the Coligny area a couple of times now, and probably would be happy either there or in Palmetto Dunes.

I posted on dischurners but didn’t get a response so I’m gonna post here. Dh needs a new card and we have $3,000 in hospital bills to pay. We’re wanting a simple cashback card with a sign up bonus being a statement credit (Not super interested in getting points right now because we don’t have much use for them). We have no plans to travel this year and almost all of our spending has been amazon, bills, and shipt (for target groceries). Dh is 4/24 but has two cards dropping off this year.

Any ideas?

We prefer Coligny to Folly Field, but both are very nice. Coligny rates high in my book as far as changing rooms, showers, and restrooms go. Some of the nicest we've ever seen at a public beach! Parking is easier at Folly imo, and less of a walk. Never been to Palmetto Dunes. Coligny is in a more dense area so there's a lot around as far as food, gas stations, bike rentals, etc.

Like @Judique said, Folly Field is further out and will have less restaurants. Folly Field and Coligny Beach Park are both public beaches. Coligny Beach will be pretty crowded since there are lots of shops and restaurants right there. Palmetto Dunes is a restricted access beach, so you have to have a pass to get into the area.

We really like Palmetto Dunes and just rented a place there a few weeks ago since the Disney resort was closed. It seems like many of the condos were built in the 80s and some have been updated, but others haven't. There are a few restaurants in Palmetto Dunes, but we usually venture outside the resort area to eat.

Hilton Head is a great family beach area with lots of wonderful restaurants and biking trails. I hope you enjoy your trip!

Do you have the increased 20k support on the biz plat? Maybe something Amex with a cross support. The plat if you can pull up at least 75k, it has the advantage of the temporary credits right now. Or if you don't want to add to 5/24, Hilton biz or a Green biz (25k, AF waived).

Citi Doublecash or Discover It. Citi is 2% on everything. Discover has rotating 5% categories and 1% everything else but at the end of your first year, they double your cash back from the entire year. Neither gas a big SUB. CapOne Savor has a bigger SUB but I don't think the higher cash back categories would appeal to you.
Remember Chase UR cards are essentially cash back cards. URs can be used as statement credit any time. I'm currently earning more on my CF/CFU than my Discover It

We have a Discover card already. It doesn’t look like the citi double cash has a sub right now unless I’m missing something? That’s true about URs. We have a CF but it’s from PCing Dh’s old CSR. Can he still apply for the CF if he already has one?
