I'm about to see how the cell phone insurance is with the IHG. My iphone xs screen hasn't been responding randomly. I've been waiting for an apple store to open. I had an appt for Friday and they closed the stores and cancelled my appt. So now I have one for 6/12 I'm hoping they don't cancel. I'm hoping the repair is approved FAST as sometimes I'm locked out of my phone for a few hours, sometimes it's just minutes.
Can you report back on the cell phone insurance after it's fixed? I switched ours to IHG also so I'm curious.

Greenie question:
Can you pay off charges immediately and still get the rewards points/cash back? Or do you have to wait until the statement date for the points to be calculated?
I'm trying to wrap my head around all this and would feel better if I could transfer the payment for certain charges right away. It will help me stay organized.
You can pay off the card during the month..I do this once a week. For Chase the points post to your account once a month when your statement closes.

So, how long does one give David's to reply before counting it a loss. I'm under a little pressure here since we're just over a month away. I put in a request yesterday, contacted them via their contact form tonight. As of tonight the room I requested is still available. Actually, it looks like all are available except Jambo with a waitlist.

I probably should have just contacted the guy I rented from a few years ago. That'll be the next plan I think, I guess I'm on like Plan E or something.

ETA: I guess with the weekend I will need to wait until Monday.
They usually reply one way or another within less than 24hrs but they might be running with less staff now. Hopefully you will hear from them tomorrow

My Amex Business Green has a 20% off GCs at Home Depot, Panera, Williams Sonoma, Gap, Walmart, when I use MRs to purchase the GCs. I’m thinking about buying Walmart GCs to purchase Disney GCs at Sam’s. Is that a terrible idea?
I see this on my account. I'm tempted to use 80,000 MR points to buy $1,000 in HD gift cards and sell them to Raise for about $840.

That used to be a thing but I would double check before buying a lot. Maybe buy a $25 and check it out? I got the egift cards when I did Home Depot - they come instantly.

I tried to buy a Disney gift card with a Sam's gift card in January and it wouldn't work. It was the gift card from referring my daughter for membership, so maybe that was the problem. Let me know if it works for you.

I am all booked now. I feel so much better.

I was getting a little worried because it sounds like Disney is shifting people around right now and I didn't want to miss out on availability, but I am good now. Getting ready to cash out UR to cover to cost.

I have not had any issues using gift cards to purchase gift cards at Sam’s.

I applied for and was instantly approved for a Hyatt card on Friday. I'm planning on referring DH to get one as well. I assume we both need our own Hyatt account?? Should I get him an account number before I apply for his card?

Thanks!

You don't have to but I think it's easier. I don't think it makes a difference in the amount of time it takes for them to send the card if you have one or not.

Another question: Is there a certain amount of time I should wait between credit card applications? I'm ready to get my first one (besides a biz I got a year ago). There are a couple of cards that I'm interested in within the next couple months.

Generally if they are chase cards, 3 months apart, the MDD might still work but I think at least with the saphire card rule change in August (or was it July) that may change at least with that flavor. Amex only lets you do 2 every 90 days, which I believe is rolling. Other banks I'm not sure.

Easiest to give time frame and the last couple of cards you got when you are ready to do the next card to make sure. Things can always change so what works now may not in 2-3 months.

The 3 I'm thinking of getting first (and I may only do 2 of them at all) are 1) Chase Sapphire Preferred, 2) Sam's Club MasterCard, and 3) Bank of America Cash Rewards.

Great! The card that I'd want to do this with is the CSP.
I'm new to the CC game and I'd like to transfer funds from our checking account immediately after purchase so we don't get confused about how much money we actually have. My husband usually handles all the family finances, so I don't want to mess him up by getting involved in all this.

if i recall correctly, Sams Club MasterCard pays out annually.

I don't know which bank does the Sam's card, but the other two are def separate. Even with them all separate, it's probably still a good idea to put a few months between them unless you do them all close together before they start hitting your credit report.

We've all seen that the banks are tightening things up, reducing people's credit lines and canceling cards that haven't been used without notification. Even though they are different banks, if you do the first two close together and they report to your cr close together bofa may deny you for too many new cards in a short amount of time.

Now if you can meet the spend on them all at the same time then you could get them all now and not worry about the timing, otherwise I'd be patient.

Hmm. That does put a damper on the card. Thanks for the heads up! I just checked the fine print and not only do they only pay out annually, but it goes onto your Sam's membership and you can only use it at Sam's club. If I could use it on Disney GC and their gas, it still might work. But I'd have to be REALLY patient.
