@StephPlum they said they couldn’t see that information, just that it was an approval. I guess I’ll wait until the card comes?
I think you have to wait now as it is already approved. Not sure you can cancel after approval. Mine was still sitting in applied status when I called in so they could cancel. Maybe the glitch will also give you the bonus 🤞

From Hawaii to Washington D.C.... IF I can't make Hawaii happen I still need to burn 150K bonbons.
Second option is to use them for fall break instead of Hyatt Place National Mall.

Which of these hotels would work for a museum centered vacation? We won't have a car, we will use public transpiration and Uber to get everywhere.

Does anybody else like to do this:

So having just gotten back from our WDW trip, I'm sitting here thinking what I was doing exactly 1 week ago today, haha! I love doing that when we get back from a trip. 1 week ago right now I was Meeting LaunchPad McQuack and then heading to Finding Nemo the Musical for the 1:00 show!

I would tag @striker1064 and ask. He is up on the good DC locations.

Second this ^. For what it's worth, we did the 4 major islands in 2018. We absolutely fell in love with the Big Island (Hawaii) and Maui. Didn't care for Kauai, and Oahu was more of a combination city/tropics that wasn't what we pictured for a hawaiian vacation. We would love to take a 2 week trip back to either the Big Island or Maui in a heartbeat.
Could you recommend anything fun or good to eat? We are headed to the big island next month for 10 days. It is our first trip to Hawaii. All thanks to points on my cc. Thanks

whats happened to me is they remove it from that other program and add it to the one you are trying with. So it doesnt allow you to double dip.
Correct. I don’t there is a way in my example SW to AA to get the CSR linked back SW. Or do you know a way to delete it?

I hope! There was NOT a popup- it just thought forever and then said it was down.

So, we have a trip scheduled for Beijing/Shanghai in October. I'm getting leery with the Coronavirus all over, but we can't reschedule yet (it's at the mercy of a group tour). They are currently rescheduling all trips through May, so we're a bit farther out to wait and see. However, we were thinking last night about what to do if China falls through. We already booked non-refundable award flights to NYC (where we were going to fly out for China). Any ideas where is another easy, direct flight perhaps, and on the cheaper side from NYC? All I could think of is Iceland, but we don't really have the desire to go there.
Hopefully it will be contained by then. SARS outbreak was about 5 months long, hopefully this will be less but good to be prepared.
Good thing about NYC is you should be able to connect anywhere. Europe, Canada, Africa?

Okay so tbh, the food was our only complaint with our Hawaii trip. We tried traditional hawaiian fare several times on all the islands, and just did not like it. We did not find any restaurant that had the "wow" factor unfortunately. Maybe we just didn't look in the right place. Definitely not a fan of poke either. We did wind up eating a ton of Acai bowls because they have them everywhere, and we loved them. We wound up doing that quite a few lunches while we were out and about!
Now if the question is fun things to do? I can go on forever, lol. We are very active so we did a lot of snorkeling, boat trips, hiking, etc. If you point me in a direction of your interests, I'd be happy to elaborate!!

I am also hoping for it to be contained and they have a "cure" or vaccine or something by then, but just trying to think of all possible scenarios. We are doing Europe (Italy, England, Germany & France) next year, so I don't know... but I did think well maybe if there are cheap"ish" flights we could do a week in Ireland. I don't know anything about the place, just that it looks beautiful from photos. Or maybe Norway/Sweden? Or Spain/Portugal? Votes for any of the above? lol I am a total over-achiever planner and feel like I need to have a back up trip completely "planned out" just in case.

I've done a couple of week long trips to Ireland and enjoyed both-I think I could go back every other or every three years and still find new things (as well as old favorites to do). I know calypso726 is headed there in the fall and has some amazing plans!

I haven't been to Norway/Sweden (Sweden this summer though, yipee) so can't help there but @mmmears DD is in Oslo and she's been a couple of times and returning this summer-I'd ask her about Norway. Personally, I did not like Portugal at all and Spain, eh, other than Barcelona not a fan-of course that could be because the weather is very much like home and it didn't feel as much like "vacation" to me. Another consideration, of course, is my beloved Scotland or the Benelux area (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg).

Of course it depends on what you're looking for. IMHO Iceland and Norway/Sweden are just breathtakingly beautiful and different from the places you are planning to visit next year. Haven't been, but Ireland, Spain, and Portugal all look lovely to me.

I wish I had recommendations for you. I’ve never been to Europe and frankly have little interest in it except maybe England as DS follows an English soccer team and would be fun to see that. I would love Africa, Asia, South America. How about Alaska? We also loved Costa Rica, so maybe Central or South America? Peru?

Hi I'm new here. Was recommended by a friend and have lurked for a bit. My husband and I are avid landscape photographers and we love going to the southwestern part of the united states for photography trips. We live in the Bay area and the usual MO is to to fly to Vegas and drive around from there.
Last year I had got the south west credit card and was able to get a companion pass with it (promotion). That helped us a lot, since we go several times in the year. Sadly that expired at the end of 2019. Is there a way to get a companion pass any more? thanks so much

hmm... I've heard negatives about Spain/Portugal from a friend as well, so I may put that on my "last resort" Europe list. I think right now Ireland may be at the top of my list for a backup plan.

Okay so any country that has the word "ICE" in it just doesn't appeal to us. hahaha I know I know, it's not always cold, it's probably even downright warm sometimes, BUT it still messes with my brain! I cannot go anywhere that is going to be colder than it is back home. We are 80 degree year-round kind of people! Norway/Sweden sounds interesting though, or even just concentrating in one country like Norway for a week. It has me thinking "Maelstrom" from Epcot, lol.

Well, my husband is from Ecuador in South America, and we've been several times and ventured throughout the entire country. We've seen many rainforests, cloud forests, Andes mountains, volcanoes and such. It is beautiful, but since we go a lot to visit family, I don't think I'd go again as a separate vacation. I do have interest in Machu Picchu but it's so darn expensive. We are interested in Asia, hence why we booked China, and we are planning Japan in about 2 years. I like the sound of Costa Rica. I've heard really good things, and they'd probably have awesome weather in October, and I'd assume it's fairly cheap once you arrive. I'm moving that to the top of the list with Ireland. Thanks for the great suggestion!!

On the topic of hoard vs burn. I don't really do either. My philosophy is I earned these rewards for travel, so when I book travel I look to use them. So I guess I hoard when not planning travel and burn when planning travel.

Question for @calypso726 or anyone else with two Aspires. If one Aspire is in your name and one Aspire is in P2's name, does P2 have to call Hilton to apply his/her free night certificate or will I be able to call and have Hilton apply DH's FN certificate (since he is like many other P2s on this thread; he's more than willing to have me open cards for him and he tries his best to use the *correct* card when making purchasers, but he is 100% not the travel planner and hates having to call)? Assuming we want to use both our our FN certificates for the same stay, what is the protocol for linking the reservations together?

Posting this because you guys are the only people who understand. DH and I both had the Chase offer “tap to pay 3x get 500 points” on our SW cards. Figured what the heck I’ll do it. Was notified this morning we both earned our 500 point bonuses. 500 RR points for $7 spend. I’ll take it. Also just realized we’re 1100 points short for upcoming trip so these points couldn’t have come at a better time 😀
