After a 90 minute wait they were obviously completely disorganized to restart. The CM’d kept trying to form a human chain. No one knew what they were trying to do. When they started to let people back in at the ropes it was EXTREMELY dangerous....pushing and shoving to get past the other person in front of them.

I talked to my DD18 and DS17 today. My Dd18 always wakes up early with me while Ds17 sleeps in. He completely shocked me by saying he will wake up and be ready to drive over at 4:30am when we go on Dec 30th. We are all excited

By far the longest wait, almost 2 hours. But I will say being the first group through after it came back up was worth it. We got to experience the entire thing seamlessly with no waits between sections.

For anyone wondering, it’s exactly 15 minutes from the first preshow to the end of the ride with zero delays.

Ok, can anyone help/advise as I have no experience with all this boarding thing. So, we are staying in resort and going to DHS on Wednesday. When we arrive - at whatever time (probably for 6am by the sounds of it) what do I need to do to "tap in"? Is this jyst using my cell phone and MDE - what exactly do I need to do? Then, once that is done I assume I go to boarding Groups (when they're open) and just keep refreshing from 7.30 onwards? Just want to make sure I know what I'm doing to give me a better chance of getting on this ride. Thank you in advance x

First off, take a deep breath - we'll get you through this.

DHS is scheduled to open at 8am on Wednesday. I would keep a close watch on this thread for Monday and Tuesday times/operations to help provide a framework for what Wednesday may look like. Thursday - Saturday the park opened for guests at 6:15am, 6:09am, and 6:36am respectively - and Boarding Groups were immediately available to join at that time. While we don't know when the park will open Wednesday, for the moment I would plan on a similar approx 6am opening just to be safe, unless we see something otherwise the next two days.

Once you enter ("tap in") the park with your ticket admission, you then open the app on your phone, click the "Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance - Access by Boarding Group" graphic that should be on the opening page, then click "Join Boarding Group" and follow the subsequent instructions. It may take the app a minute or so once you scan your park ticket admission at the tapstyles for the system to recognize you're in the park / let you join a Boarding Group. Everyone in your party needs to have scanned their ticket admission (eg, be in the park with you) to join a Boarding Group.

When your Boarding Group is later 'called' you should get a push notification to your phone letting you know, or you can easily check the app at any time. You have 2 hours to return to the ride once your boarding group is called.

Ignore whatever is leading you to the "refresh from 7:30am onwards" comment above - that was something unique to today's EMH which won't be applicable to your day.

Doubt we’ll see those for a long while. They need to be close to 100% certainty they can keep the ride operational. If they advertise RotR included and it goes down for any substantial part of the evening - I’d expect they’d need to do a lot of refunding.

It would be helpful to know what time bus service began

I believe the resort buses would have started today by 5am at the latest for a 6am opening.

I did see a few people report that they saw a HS bus at their resort at around 6am over the last few days when the Studios were supposed to open at 9am, even though they actually opened at 6am, so they must be dispatching the buses extra early.

If you’re at a resort now and planning to head to HS over the next few days, check the bus arrival times on the app. when you wake up. I’ve seen resort bus arrivals as early as 4:51am on 6am openings.

I definitely lived the experiment this week (I like that adjective for what is happening). Was not pleased with the unannounced early hours at first, but took a deep breath and joked it gave me a reason to come back again. The data collection here is awesome.

Also, my Disney+ app is cutting out while I am trying to watch the latest Mandalorian and joking that they are diverting all assets to RotR. Is it down now?

It’s for Rise or any ride at DHS but it has to be used the next day.

We could use our FP anywhere - it was the king of FP’s as my husband described it. We used ours on FOP.

We decided to head there in the morning we we just got back from the AK AH event. Just hoping to get in a BG. We are checking in to the YC but have a rental car. Would you go to YC and park and go from their or park at HS and move to YC later. We are hoping to leave All Star Movies by 5:30.

We were at AK AH last night too, you are much more hardcore then us! We got back at 1am and had to have a lie in this morning. We did consider trying to get there for 6 but just couldn’t. We did have the 12 Beers of Christmas at Morimoto at 11:30 though

OK majorly OT now but you are all getting me jealous with The Mandalorian talk. We don’t get Disney+ until March 31st in the UK. Seeing all the 12 month $69.99 gift card offers around property is getting me mad too - we will be paying $10 a month for it!

It was a struggle for sure but now it was totally worth it.

I really hope the DL one doesn’t because we are book to go there Jan 18 to Jan 20.

You can't refresh it. You can back out of it to the apps home page, select it again, and at that point the info will be updated.

No, DL is on schedule and well into testing. Star Wars cast rode last week.

We got a bus this morning at 5:08 and arrived at Studios at 5:28 am. Depending on your resort and how the stops work, you may want to walk to an earlier stop. Not everyone on the last stop (south depot @ Port Orleans Riverside) got on that first bus because it was full.

How do you check bus arrival times on the app? Sorry, but I haven't been to WDW in 8 years.

After clicking on my resort, there’s a button for see bus times after unlock door and view charges. I have not found it to be very reliable and tends to say schedule unavailable more often than not.

Are you there now? You can only see resort bus arrival times in the app your day of check in through your day of check out, it won’t show up as an option before or after those dates.

It’s under the “My Resort” info in the app.

Small caveat/warning that bus times in the app can be pretty volatile (especially first thing) as they add buses to service and such. It’s GPS based, but sometimes things can be faster or slower than what may show up in the app. It can be helpful for sure though.
