Our first 2 cards were in 2011 (each got a Disney Visa). It wasn't until 2014 that we got more cards and we've been churning hardcore ever since. :teacher:
1) When did you begin churning? (feel free to expound on this a little bit if you have details to share)
I first started following this forum in the early fall of 2017 and got my first card in October. I was ashamed to admit my first card was a Disney Visa until..........^^^ :rolleyes1:rotfl2::worship:
2) Are you in 1 player mode or 2 player mode?
I started in one player and my dh reluctantly joined me four months later. Amazing how cooperative he became after our first FREE vacation!
3) How many cards have you gotten total? (and how many for each player if you are in 2 player mode)
We are extremely slow at this. I have eight cards and he has seven. We each have four business cards.
4) IF APPLICABLE: What is one card you have gotten that is somewhat peculiar or not mainstream?
I am so boring here, Chase and AMEX
5) Share any other details you think might be fun about your churning efforts.
I remember saying I wasn't interested in business cards and how nervous I was the first time I applied. (And I even have a legitimate rental income!) I remember saying I would never MS. I spent today at Office Depot and WalMart. LOL!

Ok I know some of you do Swagbucks. Tomorrow’s live iq, or whatever it’s called now, the theme is mean girls. I think a few of you would win!

I saw that when I was playing earlier. Won today, did use a free rejoin. If the mean girls is like their other themed one's it'll have some that make you go huh? And some that are more adjacent. Their theme rounds tend to bug me and not be as easy when it's a topic I know.

Well I already deleted the Mario kart app. I was so excited for it but I don’t like pay to win games. I’ll stick with my animal crossing. It’s much less stressful

1) When did you begin churning? (feel free to expound on this a little bit if you have details to share)
I got the CSR in Oct 2016. I think I posted in the early pages of the first dischurners page actually. We stopped for a while and then I started in earnest again at the beginning of the year.

2) Are you in 1 player mode or 2 player mode?
2 player.

3) How many cards have you gotten total? (and how many for each player if you are in 2 player mode)
Me - 3 old ones, 3 business plus 1 personal this year. I’m at 1/24.
Him - 3 old ones, a Banana Republic from Black Friday, and 4 business this year.

4) IF APPLICABLE: What is one card you have gotten that is somewhat peculiar or not mainstream?
I got the Amex blue when it came out because I thought it was so pretty. We each also have a Capital One Venture that’s pre-churning so I found it, set up online account and we have $800 worth of points there!!

5) Share any other details you think might be fun about your churning efforts.
With a family of 6, airfare through the Chase portal is as far as I’ve gone with this hobby. I need to expand!

Fun Midweek Exercise - How many Cards have you gotten?
Obviously yesterday I shared the exciting news of being approved for my 80th card as a churner. (This does not include the Discover card I got back in 2002 as I wasn't churning then). I'm sure we have some other VERY prolific churners, and others just starting out who are proud of their accomplishments so far. If you aren't able to answer this question - perhaps this is a good time to sign up for an Experian.com free account or CreditKarma and figure out just how many cards you have gotten!

Gotta keep that spreadsheet up to date :D :teacher: :D

Here's a list of questions to answer if you want to participate:

1) When did you begin churning? (feel free to expound on this a little bit if you have details to share)

2) Are you in 1 player mode or 2 player mode?

3) How many cards have you gotten total? (and how many for each player if you are in 2 player mode)

4) IF APPLICABLE: What is one card you have gotten that is somewhat peculiar or not mainstream?

5) Share any other details you think might be fun about your churning efforts.
1. Looks like I got my first SW card in 2011. I think DH and I churned those twice. Used those points for quite a few trips to Disney. Found this group in June 2018 and starting getting more cards.

2. 2 Player Mode. DH wasn't too exicted at first, and I do all the applications, but he has begun to appreciate the trips we get to take.

3. I have gotten 10 cards and DH 8.

Do a google search for Ross Gellar, click the couch, then click it 3 more times. You need sound.

Go ahead and do all the characters, though I think Phoebe Buffay is best lol Ross is the only one that needs extra clicks though.

To bring this CC related, as soon as my daughter showed me I knew I had to share with the Friends lovers here. Things that make me think of my CC friends lol

If you haven't yet, Google Wizard of Oz. Click on the ruby slippers and then click on the tornado. Sound on.

Can I piggyback on the other Chicago post?

Ds has a tournament there Halloween weekend. Trying to decide if I should go with the other 2 littles b/c now my in-laws are going and we don’t see them a lot. Of course, I bought DH and DS9s flights long ago. Now the return is high. So I’d have to move their return to Monday to add on the rest of us.

Is there anything fun for us to do in Chicago if we have an extra night there? We have been once before, but it was in the summer.
Loads of stuff to do. Museums, sports, performances, shopping. Give me an idea of what you all like to do. Where is the tournament and hotel exactly? Downtown? You have DD3 and DS 9 & 11, right?

I feel very happy about your "nothing to see here" :D :D 😉 😉

And please do share in the appropriate thread on DISchurners!!

Totally on board with keeping things quiet, but I have to say that I'm struggling to find the updates and questions over there. ;) I found your post last night, and Andysol's as well, but nothing else that was new. #redditchallenged

There isn’t really a ton of discussion going on there.

If you go to this link once a day you can pretty much read every comment that is made within 5 minutes or so:

1) When did you begin churning? (feel free to expound on this a little bit if you have details to share)
We began churning in May of last year (2018) so we are still very new to things. Our whole main purpose was for our Japan trip that we went on this year and we could not have gone on that trip without churning.

2) Are you in 1 player mode or 2 player mode?
2 player mode

3) How many cards have you gotten total? (and how many for each player if you are in 2 player mode)
Me-6 (5 biz, 1 personal)
Dh-6 (4 biz, 2 personal)
Total: 12

4) IF APPLICABLE: What is one card you have gotten that is somewhat peculiar or not mainstream?
I’m not sure I have any that are peculiar but I got the capital one venture and I don’t feel like that one is talked about too often.

5) Share any other details you think might be fun about your churning efforts.
Right now we are mostly using points for trips to visit family in Virginia and Iowa. Nothing too crazy. I’m playing with the idea of maybe going to Scotland/Ireland next as our big trip but I have no idea when that would be. Dh has mentioned wanting to do Ireland and I feel like we need to for sure do both if we go.

2015 when we remodeled our kitchen. We had gotten AA cards before for free flights, but the lightbulb went on after I got the CSP and charged a lot of remodeling expenses. Also used Raise and Cardpool to buy discounted GCs at Home Depot for the remodel. I used the URs for cashback (no judging, it was best use that year. We didn’t need to travel, we needed a new kitchen). Of course my return would be better if I did it all again today.
2) Are you in 1 player mode or 2 player mode?
2
3) How many cards have you gotten total? (and how many for each player if you are in 2 player mode)
29 total, not including Target card and the Discover I got in 1986. 17 for me, 12 for DH.
4) IF APPLICABLE: What is one card you have gotten that is somewhat peculiar or not mainstream?
We have a Sears TY card, TY Premier and BoA Premium Rewards

Where is your tournament? Where are you staying?
