This section of the BC is only three stories, so no 4501. :)

Here is a view of the exterior of x647. There are standing balconies for rooms 2647, 3647 and 4647.

This picture is from the first post and shows that rooms 2647, 3647, 4647, and 5647 don't have a balcony on the water view side.

Thank you for this very informative post. When I finally get around to refurbishing the Deluxe Room/Suite thread, this info will be very helpful!

:thanks:

I have a question about Stormalong Bay - when is it typically the most crowded in summer? Hoping to have some pool afternoons in July when we're there, but is that just totally crazy and will it be way too crowded? (If it's not closed for lightning, of course!) We are just 2 adults with no kids, but we'd like to be able to get inner tubes and not be swimming with crazy crowds.

What are the best pool times in summer? We want to go several times, maybe even every day, since this is partially why we chose to stay at BC!
We were there the third week of June with our family, including two grandsons age 12 and 14. They loved playing volleyball so we were at SAB a lot. We always found somewhere to sit. We were even able to get a table in the shade a few afternoons. If you have no problem clearing off wet towels from lounge chairs that obviously have been abandoned, then you will find plenty of chairs. People get lazy and leave their wet towels behind when they leave the pool.

We find the busiest times to be between noon and 4 pm. AA lot of people leave in the late afternoon. The morning is a great time to go to SAB. It is less crowded and usually still sunny. The afternoons can get very rainy and the lifeguards close the pool if lightning is within a certain distance. So we have been kicked out of SAB when it is still sunny and zero rain because lightening is nearby. The pool is great after dinner, too. It is really empty then and the sun isn't beating down on you. :)

Happy New Year to my dis friends!

We were there last June in the early part of the month (I think it was June 9-16). We never had issues finding a place to sit. I like the covered section with the pool table. It always seemed empty to me. We were frequently there in the early afternoon. I’m sure July is busier, however.

We might be back this June. My oldest turns 16, and I said I’d take her and her best friend to New York for a long weekend. I reconsidered and said we could try a trip to Florida and maybe go to Universal or Disney. Amara chose Disney and her friend has never been. I’m so much more comfortable taking them to Disney and letting them have freedom at the parks than I am in NYC. I was surprised she chose Disney over Universal, but she said the Magic Kingdom is her favorite park. Now we’re just trying to narrow down the resort. Right now, I can get a discount that works out to about 20% off rack rate and a decent savings on park tickets. It looks like the gondolas won’t open until the fall, so we’re leaning towards the Beach Club. I’m hoping a better rate comes out, too.

We are booked to stay in BC from Jul 13-17, split stay with Poly after. We booked a standard view room right now. Hoping a better discount would be out later but we’re excited! First time staying at BC
Us too, we’re doing the same split in August, 4 days BC and the 4 at Poly. We’ve been to Poly the last few years, but wanted to try BC to make it easy when going to Epcot and we have to check out Stormalong Bay. Poly is like home to us but we wanted to mix it up this year! Have fun planning!

I’ve stayed at Poly almost 15 years ago now and have never been to BC so it’ll all be new for us! We’re doing 4 nights each too! :) it’s almost time for ADRs already for me and I’m so lost! Lol! Have been 2 years ago and it feels like so many things have changed. I’m still debating about the dining plan too. Lots of things to think about! Glad I got my resorts down!

We’re exactly 14 days til our BC stay. Yay! But I have a bit of a downer, I haven’t told anyone (except our children) that we’re going yet. I’m dreading the “again!”, “y’all live over there”, & the absolute worse “must be nice” comments. I don’t even post on FB our trips anymore. To be honest, I usually only tell our kids & my parents now (and of course work). I don’t understand all the negative comments about the amount of times we go or that we go to Disney at all. And I hate feeling like I have to justify how we spend our time & money. I’m always so happy for anyone when I hear they’re going to Disney or anywhere else. I think it’s wonderful to travel & do things that make you happy. I wish everyone felt that way too.

OMG. STORY OF MY LIFE. SO over it! YOu are not alone in this! I am so sick and tired of hearing it as well and have also stopped posting on FB. I too get super excited to see anyone go to Disney (or for anywhere else for that matter). I wish people felt the same for us. Just had to let you know that we are in the same boat as you! Us Dis freaks must stick together!

I don’t even tell people what I’m doing. I’ll say I’m going to Florida and leave it at that. My in-laws have a beach house and while it’s a very nice place, after about two days, I’m done with the boardwalk and the crowds on the beach. The threat of rip tides doesn't exactly make the trip more enjoyable, either.

Thanks to everyone for the SAB info! :)

We are planning on some pool afternoons, but I knew the weather and crowds would likely be an issue. I'll be sure to try to stick at least one morning and one afternoon in there, too. That pool was a major draw of this resort for us, so we're going to make sure to visit it a lot!

We are also hoping for discounts, but so excited to have it booked! I do think we want to try a split stay with the Poly like you're doing eventually. Sounds pretty amazing!

Sadly, for our September trip the room only offer is identical to the bounceback we’ve already got booked. Keeping my fingers crossed for an AP offer soon...

Free Dining was announced. Dates are July 5th to September 30th. Yacht Club, Beach Club and Beach Club Villas included, Book now through February 10th.
Standard Disney Dining Plan for Deluxe and Deluxe Villa resorts. Looks like 4 night minimum stay and Park Hopper or Park Hopper Plus tickets

Thanks for the heads up! We ended booking "Free Dining". Said we would never do the dining plan again but it actually works out this time. When we went in June 2017 I kept all our receipts and we spent more than what the difference is to get Free Dining this time. Dates still the same July 17 - 30, 2019 and still at the BC!! Was going to try the YC but BC was slightly cheaper and every penny counts. I cannot wait. Making our ADRs soon, planning our trip is half the fun for me! Hope everyone is having a great New Year.

I just booked our June trip. Unfortunately, it was much cheaper to go with the Boardwalk than the Beach Club. I’m sad, since I love the Beach Club so much. I’ve tried to convince my family to try the Boardwalk for ages and now that we are, I’m sad. Which is just silly.

After almost 2 hours on hold (yikes, good thing I'm still on winter break and had time for this!) I was able to modify our package. We've now switched over to a Yacht Club garden/woods view (still July 19-27) because there's a 30% room discount there, and BC only has discounted deluxe rooms. The offer was just too good to pass up. We saved a TON on our reservation! Excited to try YC!

Side note - we'd considered getting the free dining instead, but we eat too many TS for the DP and not enough for the DxDP, and we want 3 signature meals this trip, so we'd have ended up paying for some out of pocket anyway. The food is a big part of the experience for us. Luckily, we ended up saving almost exactly the same (within $50) from this room discount as we would have for two people on free dining, so I feel better.

So, how's YC? I've read that it's the quieter of the 2. Since we're 2 adults with no kids yet, I think it may be perfect for us!

I was just able to switch from the Swan to YC for DS 16th Birthday Trip in June with the 40% off AP rate. I am beyond excited to be staying at our favorite resort again!!! So much to catch up on again! (Yes, I promise to read the first few pages first :rotfl2:)

Brilliant! Just wanted to ask do annual pass holders get offered discount for Christmas time? Trying to plan ahead and work out if it would e worth buying a pass for the resort discount?

Can any of you expirenced StormAlong Bay goers help me out? We Are considering BC for part of a split stay, but I’m a little worried about the pool. To be clear, it looks AMAZING, I’m just worried about safety. Is it so big I’ll loose sight of my kids in the water? They are 7, 10, and 12, they can all swim, but I get a little nervous around water. I! :)

I’m happy to see someone else taking their child for a 16th birthday trip. My daughter was given a few options and she picked Disney. ❤️
