I love credit cards so much!

For those who open bank accounts online, how do you prove your identity? Do you have to scan drivers license, SS cards, etc?
Most of them use identity verification questions from your credit report. I think at least one I've opened didn't ask for anything, just took my SSN and I mailed in my signature card. Can't remember who that was, though.

I think some of this depends on your credit age/history. In my case, I have 20+ years of credit history so I was asked questions from my credit report. But my dd18, who is brand new to the adult world, has had to scan various forms of ID and send those in. Or she was flat out denied due to not having any questions from a credit report they could verify electronically. PNC approved her though, and that has a $200 bonus so she is thrilled!

If you plan on AK last, you can easily do FOP without a FP. Just do it right at park closing no matter what the wait time says. Last time we were there the wait time said 150 minutes when we were in line no more than 30 mins.

Thank you, that's good to know because I still can't make my FPs. I've been trying all day and all I get is invalid ticket error. I have to get up early again tomorrow and I am not a morning person. FOP is the only FP I really care about right now. We're only doing 1 day at AK, MNSSHP, hopefully DVC's Moonlight Magic at HS, then 2 days at Universal.

No problem. CM's are trying to get home at a somewhat reasonable time so I have a feeling they leave the wait time high so all the people looking on the app don't rush the ride as soon as it closes. Not to mention the fastpasses are nearly all finished for the day, so the line moves really fast. We grabbed drinks at pongu pongu 10 minutes before closing and drank them through the queue to kill time!

I wasn't able to get Slinky Dog Dash FP for my September stay, so we decided to get to HS very early for rope drop.

So this is a new one. I posted that I did the Flights and Hotel package a few days ago with Marriott. I asked for 120,000 Alaska miles and a Category 6 certificate (300,000 Marriott points). The agent screwed up and transferred the points to United! I gave her my Alaska number so I have no idea what happened. So instead of 120,000 Alaska miles I now have 132,000 United miles. I think the miles also made me a Premier Silver for United. I figured this all out because when I went to check into my flight for Maui I was given a complimentary upgrade of extra legroom and put on the auto upgrade for first class. I can't imagine the nightmare of trying to have this corrected. Anyone heard of this before? I'd much rather have the Alaska miles, but I can just imagine the long phone calls and the potential for more screw up. We fly United enough that I can use them, but United miles are so much easier to earn. Not sure what to do.

I'm not sure how you got bumped up to United Silver just from getting miles as it's not like those are PQMs. With that said, what exactly did you do to get 132k United miles? I could always use some more :P

@Ngwira :Where are you staying in Lake Louise? Are you flying into Calgary or Vancouver? When we went, the Athabasca Glacier walk was closed. I hear this attraction is a must do. [sorry don't know how to quote on my iPad.

We are flying in and out of Spokane. It was the best flight times and cost. Seemed hard to get there from here (Columbus Oh). Calgary was too expensive. We are staying at the Mountaineer Inn in Lake Louise. Same company has the Mount Robson Inn in Jasper and we'll get 20% off on both since we are staying back to back.
I already got my glacier tour tickets!! I can't wait for this one.

Did you do any of the gondola rides? Reading trip advisor say all are good just pick one on the best clear day.
We did the Banff Gondola. It’s expensive, about $60 CAD a person and they were running a special for kids before noon. We could walk to it from our hotel- the Rimrock. The Banff Gondola is very close to the hot springs. That was pretty affordable.

So you are starting in the US and driving across the border to Canada. Be prepared for long wait times to cross. Hopefully not too bad but build that in to your travel time. Did you sign up for the Banff/Lake Louise tourism website. They sometimes send coupons and discounts to web subscribers. There are also some packages you may want to look into. Brunch/ Gondola and cruise on the lake etc. Doesn’t hurt to check it out.

I also love to look at the Lake Louise webcam. You can google it to see.

Something was up yesterday...I couldn’t make any fasspass reservations either..kept saying I needed a ticket..but my annual pass does not expire until December

WhooHoo y'all! SW points finally posted!! Calling SW tomorrow for a retention offer, or I will close the card. Never called and asked for a retention offer before so I'm a bit nervous :scared:

Interested to see if they offer anything...my points and annual fee will, post next month..I definitely will be keeping the plus card..but if I can get a statement credit I’ll take it..lol

The new SW credit card is live, Southwest Priority. IMO sign up bonus is just ok, but if you fly Southwest every year it doesn't seem like a bad move. 7500 anniversary points plus $75 SW credit (and more) for $149. I saw it first from DoC:

It's a split sign up bonus, so I'm not sure 25k in RR points is worth 15k in spend. But someone with good maths I'm sure will set me right :)

That's a lot of spend. Woof.

Perfectly fine if you're spacing out apps I guess, but $15k is a lot of opportunity cost that could go toward new cards. Otherwise has fairly decent anniversary benefits.

Is Chase Sapphire Reserve automatically expedited for shipping? Any recent data points on this?
Less than one week until Disney trip and needed for that huge spend.
I also have sapphire preferred coming and I thought I heard that is not.
How long for you?

That's what i was thinking too. We don't have many expenses so that's a big chunk of my year to meet that.

We don't always fly every year so not sure what i could do with that credit, but if we did I'd be happy to pick it up (for a little higher bonus though)

edit: gotta stop typing from my phone, had a extra word I just removed.

I received my CSR (January 2018) within a day or two of applying. I don't have the CSP, so I'm not sure about that one.
