My confirmation email states:

With your tickets linked, you will be able to begin selecting your FastPass+ experiences once your selection window opens. You can reserve your FastPass+ experiences 30 days prior to your visit to the theme parks. If you are staying at one of our Walt Disney World Resorts, you can start planning even earlier at 60 days prior to your check in date.

I thought this meant I could schedule FP+ at 7pm, 8pm, 9pm on the day on the event. (I will not be using a regular park ticket that day and will not have other FP booked)

Maybe I misread, but if you are allowed to enter the park at 7pm (on a night the event is 10pm-1am), is it true that the lanyard can be used as a fastpass?

Does this mean a non-scheduled fast pass at every ride that accepts it from 7 -10pm? WOW! That would be awesome!

Idk if this has been posted but is there a known resolution to the wrong date showing in MDE for a DAH ticket? I purchased 7/21 but when I put my confirmation code in MDE it shows 3/2

I am going to take a stab at this...I received the same confirmation email but what I'm thinking is that that is the generic email that they send out when you add/link 'park' tickets to your MDE account. While the DAH tickets aren't the usual park tickets per se, because we have to link them under the "tickets" option on MDE, they probably just send out the generic email which talks about booking FP+. I could be wrong but I don't think it has anything to do with the DAH event. I was also advised by an agent/CM that I would be granted admission to the event starting at 10:00 pm (we are going June 30th) so I can't comment on the 7pm timeframe that others have referenced.

Mine was the same but then after linking I received a confirmation e-mail which clearly states July 21.

Reports of CMs allowing this during the Winter 2018 DAH dates were rather inconsistent. It seemed to work for some, but not others - and it ‘generally’ seemed to be in the last hour before regular park closing.... in that time when things were starting to wind down for the day.

Personally, I’d keep expectations pretty low for it working as a FP, especially for the whole 7pm-10pm timeframe. But of course, YMMV! :-)

We went on March 1 this year and it honestly just depended on which CM you got. I had one at BTMR that let us right through at the FP entrance, but they were double scanning for FP and the second CM was very hesistant. She ended up letting us through but wasn't sure. We weren't allowed in the line at some of the rides until right at 9 pm.

You should schedule FP's before DAH actually starts just in case they don't let you use your lanyard at all.

Hello all. So the July 9th date is the day I am arriving at my happy place and the plane lands at 7:25 pm. I was wondering what your thoughts are on the feasibility of me doing DAH. I am staying at all star sports and using DME. I will do the hotel check-in online. It sounds amazing to start my solo Vaca in mk but what if there is a delay in the flight. Want to get other opinions. It's a short trip with three full park days and a little time at the parks on the departure day. Thanks all!

I definitely wouldn't do it on your arrival day if you won't be getting there until 7:25. You have to then account for how long it will take to get from the airport to the World. They let us in at 6 pm in March for DAH and we got a LOT done in those hours before DAH even started.

Is it possible to book online? The link to the Disney page only ends up telling me to call in to purchase. I'm looking for Aug 30th and I tried calling because the phone number keeps telling me there are technical errors. I can't seem to get a hold of an agent through the phones. Also, I tried doing the voice search using the phone number and it doesn't list any event for Aug 30th except Food/Wine at Epcot.

What were you going to do that night otherwise? Chill at the resort?

Doing a hard-ticketed non-refundable event on your arrival day certainly has some risks. Delays, weather, etc could quickly foil your plan.

BUT, I have done something similar and it worked out fine. Your event would be 10pm-1am, so you have a bit of time to land, deal with DME, get to the resort, get to MK, etc. If you could Uber/Lyft/Taxi one of those legs you’d buy yourself some extra time.

If I were solo with a short trip, I’d definitely try to squeeze it in if 1) you’re up for it, 2) OK with the travel risks.

Hi
We will be over from the UK in July. We were not planning on doing any disney at all until this announcement. Saturday 7th July would work better for our plans than Monday the 9th but I wondered if you thought the Saturday night might be the busiest due to the proximity to the 4th July, or will it not make a difference?
We will also book an overnight stay at one of the resorts. We won't have any other disney tickets so hoping the entering at 7pm rather than having to wait till 10pm will still stand.
So glad I found this super helpful thread although my bank account and husband might not share my views.
Thanks for any advice.

It should not make a difference since the same number of tickets are sold for each night.

Yes, just chill at the resort. I figured none of the park hours were late enough to add a day ticket. The amount that you can get done during DAH sounds so amazing though. Thanks for your thoughts. I'm still undecided, so fun making these decisions.

So...yes, you could book FP with your DAH ticket?

This is very helpful info. I usually drive to all parks, but no sense being at TTC if I can't get a monorail there afterward so I will plan to take a bus from my resort for this event.

The ferry was running from MK to TTC for those who drive.

If I am already in the park do I need to leave and re enter with my DAH ticket ?

You will need to pick up your DAH event lanyard. The lanyard is how they know you can stay in the park after closing.

In the winter, most folks reported having to physically exit and then turn right around and enter through the DAH designated entry gates. If already in the park, some had success picking up their lanyards at the Town Square Guest Relations office or the Liberty Square ticket window - but it seemed the success rate on these two options varied.

There were some mixed experiences with this last DAH. We were in the park and went to guest services in Liberty Square. They told the group ahead of us they needed to go to the front of the park. Since I had heard otherwise, I asked the CM to check with someone else. It took and few minutes but she found the lanyards and we were able to get them there.

I think others at the front of the park were okay if they found the right person. Other CMs told them they needed to exit.

Bottom line is you should be able to get your lanyard without exiting the park. Just find the right person to ask.

Hopefully they clarify this as the summer dates wear on. I just booked for Sept 20th, and we have the HEA dessert party that night too (I know, I know...) and it would be amazing to not have to leave the park.
