Roxymama's 5k to Marathon, Time to Collect Another Castle

My house has two full kitchens...sooooooooo

I'm still sad that I bypassed the insane starbucks line during DL because I really did want the DL you are here mug. But we were there such a short time I got line-spooked. We have more days this time so I will be bribing kiddo to wait for cake pops so mama can get her mug fix.

I am headed there in Nov for the 1st time and the DL mug might be near the top of my list (along with coffee)! I don't love the DCA one, but will I regret not getting it??

I'm imagining walking up to every 30ish woman and saying "hi!" during my trip just in case it's your sister!

Also, yes, 2019 do HC Chicago!!! I've now got a legacy status to uphold so could use the company :)

This made me LOL. To help you narrow it down, she'll be the one calling every race a marathon... #blessherheart #notarunner

Is 2018 a no-go? I am a forward planner but 2019 might maybe baby be a big year for us! We'll see! (see what I did there?)

Omg duh. My brain thought it was 2018 right now. I'm fast forwarding too far!!!

Yes I'll be running it 2018...come run it with me!!!

AK as well...there's a Tiger on it. Nicer than the old one IMO. The travelers are all really nice too.
Really all AK merch should be judged based on the animals that appear on it.

I'm thinking of Minnie Mousing myself. And I've got comfy and lightweight black ears from a costume shop that came with this novelty necklace (I don't plan to wear because it makes me feel like I have a Gaston sized neck) and these lady-like minnie gloves. I realize these pics are kinda embarassing on their own but that's what I do for my journal.

I feel like that necklace is meant to be a choker and your neck is normal sized. Also, it's probably good it doesn't fit because it's too literal.
Eh, I don't know. I've also considered finding a fake plastic pie and carrying it but at some point I've gone too far off the costume deep end.

Thoughts? Opinions? help? :)
Only if you get a real pie at the end. That seems important. If you go the apron route you need a pie but I think your costume is great without it.

I feel like we could come up with like a ton of fun DISboard runner shirts. As a group, we're kinda entertaining sometimes.
"The sparkle visor provides superpowers." - @CheapRunnerMike is a quote that always sticks with me.

Also the recent iconic post "If I’m running that far, there had better be a friggin’ medal at the end." - @Ariel484

I feel like there are a ton more. A personal favorite that probably wouldn't fit on a shirt but perfectly describes runDisney as an organization "Frankly, I'm better off asking the hobo down the street for an answer than to listen to a single thing I hear from RunDisney customer service. The hobo will be more entertaining and still have the same chance of being correct." - @Keels

I'm not great with costumes, but I will put it out there that the one and only time I ran a race with Minnie ears (2014 Jingle Jungle 5K) I had a splitting headache for the rest of the day. Granted, I did get sick later in the day, so it may not have been due to the ears...but no more ears for me. :confused3

EEEEEK I am so jealous! I freaking love Disneyland!

::yes:: That hobo one kills me. And as a follow SparkleVisor wearer, I can confirm that Mike is not wrong about the sparkly visors!

You know... someone you know is going to DL in December...

ETA: Well, apparently you know multiple people going to DL in the next two months...

Yeah, the choker has been gifted to kiddo! I really only bought the set cause I wanted those gloves.
All this talk of pie makes me just really want to eat pie. I gotta refocus!

The minnie ears 1000% need a test run (even if just around my backyard so I don't get "looks" from my neighbors) They are super soft so A) probably no headache but B) maybe they won't stay on??
I also have a plan B now that you've brought this up...I can use the bandana in my hair like a cute hairband. Or I need to go check out if there's any appropriate sweatybands.

And yes, the sparkle visor is powerful. I now can vouch for that. I did not die during my Chicago HM and I was wearing it...I don't think that's a coincidence.

You know... someone you know is going to DL in December...

Haha, Am I going to have to use people here as my Mug-dealers?
I'm thinking of new shirts now.

"Say No to Mugs"

I'm no help with the makeup, but I'll add my costume advice! Love the outfit and the minnie-izing! I ran with an Olaf headband for the 2015 Marathon weekend 5K and it was great - no problems. I practiced on the treadmill, and then ran the 5K with the kids and all was well! The other option in a bow - if you look up neme on etsy, her bows are fantastic for races. And I stretch the value a bit by wearing bows in the parks, because where else can I wear a bow?

Regarding the apron, we've had bad luck with them. I wore one as part of my Alice costume for MNSSHP - not even a run - and it was sliding all over the place. Boo. Then our middle son wore an apron as part of his Anna costume (same 5K where I was Olaf, @mateojr was Kristoff and oldest son was Elsa.) Same apron problem - it was all over the place on him. So I'd go without the apron - in part based on logistics and because I wouldn't want to cover that super cute outfit! But if you do go with it, make sure it can stay put!

OK, too much talk on here to keep up!!!

But, love the outfit. I say yes to the ears if they don't give you a headache and yes to the apron and yes to the pie. YES to all things. :D

The eyeshadow is beeYOUtiful! I love it. I'm very boring with my make-up though, so I can live vicariously through your choices.

@run.minnie.miles I saw what you did there!!!

That hobo line is a great one.

Also I immediately noticed the title change, just not quick enough to get on here and post it. I love new titles!!!

Well you DID just run a PR-smashing race, so pie is certainly called for...besides, you probably need some pie to help you come down from that fritter high.

Lesser headwear would have wilted on that day #fearthesparkle

I hadn't thought about that with an apron. Hmmmmmmmmmm.

Also I love your frozen family costume theme!

I can give you the same prize for noticing the title change but I'm not sure you want to do a medicine ball workout today!!!!

And YES to all the things is hilarious. #enabling

What will help me come down from the pie high though?
