The Everything Pooh Sized Thread

I am so nervous about the FOP. i am 5'8 and almost 300 lbs. I am super nervous. I appreciate reading how everyone has been doing with it.

So, I hope this isn't totally off topic. I'm definitely plus size. And I never ever wear skirts/dresses and haven't owned shorts for over a decade. So I was planning on having to stick to wearing jeans at WDW but was a bit worried that would be hell with the heat and humidity in early/mid September! Then last week I stopped at Lane Bryant to pick up an online order, for you guessed it, more jeans. They were having a buy one get one free sale on all shorts and capris, so I decided-what the hell, I'll try on some, but I don't think I'll like it. Well, lo and behold, I walked out of there with 2 shorts and a skort and they are sooo comfortable! I ended up going back a couple days later and got another 2 pairs of shorts (one in white so I can dye it to match my disney bound outfit). I don't think I necessarily look amazing wearing them, but now I'm not worried about being uncomfortable at WDW! And I just realized, who cares what I look like at WDW as long as I'm enjoying myself!

I don't know about the max size, but when I was there in December, I was wearing a 5XL T-shirt (equal to a 62-inch chest) and I was able to ride RnRC without any difficulty.

Thanks for the response! Yeah, I rode more than 4 years ago but I just remember it was uncomfortable for me. Not sure how big my chest was at that time but I have to weigh less than I did back then as I've lost 30 pounds since late May. I just remember it seeming to really pinch my shoulders, if that makes sense. Going next month and though my mom wouldn't be able to ride, if I can get in the single rider line for a shorter wait, I would give it another go. By the time of our trip, I'm hoping to be down another 15 pounds.

Come September, you'll be so glad you did! We went last October and I think jeans would've been too heavy. Capris were perfect! And when I went in May I lived in shorts and skorts. You'll look amazing because you'll be COMFORTABLE! That can make all the difference. :)

Have fun!!

Good for you! I just hit a huge sale at Belk's and grabbed some capri's B1G2Free. 6 pairs for the discount price of 2, and a clearance pair of shorts. Score!

Do get some pictures when you go. No matter how you think you look, you'll look great in Disney!

I am really worried about 7dmt. I am 5'7, 255 lbs and carry all of my weight below the waist. I am currently in a 22 (can squeeze into a 20).

The first time I rode it I was bigger than you and carried my weight in legs and belly. You will fit fine, although many people (non pool size included) complain about the restraints being uncomfortable. I thought it was fine and it is a super short ride.

My problem was my height not my weight. I had to bend my knees a certain way to get in. It is a very short ride so it didn't bother me while riding.

I'm really concerned about 7DMT and FoP. I can't decide if reading the message board and other posts has helped ease some of my fears, or worsened them.

I've lost about 80lbs since January of this year (and still losing). I'm currently 5'1", 210lbs, size 14 pants and more often than not an XL shirt. I know, I know. Reading through out the posts I'm "smaller" than a lot of you wonderful "Pooh sized" people - but the weight-loss journey I'm on has been like 50% physical / 50% mental. I still see/view myself as significantly larger, and I definitely still see myself as "Pooh size."

The last time I was at Disney (definitely a minimum of 80lbs. heavier), FoP wasn't open and I was too scared to even try 7DMT - so I faked sick while the rest of my party went on. I didn't have problems on any other rides, but I do recall some being more uncomfortable than others. This time, I definitely want to ride 7DMT - but man oh man, it's such conflicting reports as to whether or not I'll have issues on 7DMT - and FoP has me terrified.

My 8 day trip isn't until the end of October, so the goal is to lose another 20lbs. before then - but in the event that I don't lose another ounce, I'm just looking for some reassurance (from people who have successfully ridden both rides) that I'll be okay. :(

I'm much bigger than you and had no trouble or pain at all on 7DMT.

I haven't ridden FOP and probably won't for many years (I usually travel with someone larger than myself and I'm not riding it if she can't ride and it looks like she can't ride.)

I doubt you'll have trouble though.

Congrats on your progress! That's amazing! You will be totally fine on 7DMT. I'm quite a bit larger than you and ride it fine. The only thing I find slightly uncomfortable is the restraints on my knees as they come up from the front and the outside of my knees touch the bars on each side. But it's such a short ride that it's not a lingering annoyance after the ride.

As for FOP, I have yet to ride that one, but am hoping I will be able to in 3 weeks. We have a FP but am thinking we may rope drop it first to see if we fit, if not then change the FP to something else.

I am pretty much exactly the same size as you, except I'm 5'4", and I have no problems at all on 7DMT. Haven't ridden FOP yet (next month, yay!), but I'd say you'll be just fine on 7DMT. :)

Congratulations on your loss! You will be just fine in both rides. I've ridden both, and you will be absolutely fine. Don't give it another worry!

Wanted to post a link to a reply I just made in another thread where I show photos of myself and my husband, both solidly pooh-sized, on some rides (7DMT, Space Mountain, Test Track, EE). I'm 5'8", 300-ish lbs. He's the same height, weighed around 350-360 in these photos. Sometimes seeing the photos is helpful for folks who may otherwise be having some anxiety or doubts about whether they can participate! pooh:

5'1" 375 worried momma

I relied heavily on the comments here for the encouragement I needed to have a good time in WDW for my last few trips! Wanted to pay it forward :)

I could hug your neck for these! Thank you! My husband and I are about the same as you two. I am actually more worried about us being able to be together. You two look great! Love your husband's expressions! lol

Thank you to everyone that took the time out to reply to my worry/concern. It's so very appreciated. :)

Does anyone remember the name of the blog that two sisters have that are pooh size? They are very informative about rides at Disney and how/if they ride them. They can be so funny and relaxed while poking fun only at themselves. I saw it once, but now can't remember the name of it.

Another question on 7DMT and FoP: Hubby and I are AP holders and I have been petrified to even try FoP. I have issues with people paying attention to me. I know it sounds weird, but I am not really an introvert and do fine in crowds unless people start looking at me. Anyway, I haven't wanted to even try the trial seat out front to see if I would fit on FoP. Here's my question, hubby and I are BOTH pook sized. We've both lost almost 100 lbs but are both at about 5'10", 315lbs each. We have FP for 7DMT on Tuesday. Will we be able to ride together and if not, can we each take one seat? I have heard nightmares about it being cramped and we're ok with being squished for a few minutes, my concern is being turned away.
