Extra magic hours- never again

I'm not a fan of morning EMH because well, we aren't morning people. However, I love late night EMH in MK. We make a point to always be at those because the later it gets, the less crowded it is and we can usually walk on most anything we want.

Glad it works for you, unfortunately that's never been my experience. I loved 12am normal closing at MK because as you say, you could walk on the rides. EMH nights not so much, lines got shorter towards the end, but nothing like a normal night.

Can anyone please let me know, coming from the Poly, how to get to FEA? I have FPs for Soarin at 10:45 am. I was originally going to RD TT
but wondering if we should walk to FEA, single rider TT and then my FP for Soarin. What do you all think?
The walking isn't a factor. It will just be my mom and I and she will be in a scooter and I have no problems with walking at a good pace.

Go to my maps sticky (red link in my signature) and go to the Epcot maps for routes to FEA.

We never do morning EMH, only night. We would much rather close a park down, especially in hotter months and sleep in. (we are night people) If I did morning EMH it would likely only be DHS (for now) and MK because I have no interest in the newer ride crush.

I would only do EMH if I thought there was a need to experience a specific assortment of attractions on a given day. I'm fortunate enough to have many WDW days under my belt* with another 2 or 3 per year for the foreseeable future, so a rush to cram in popular rides really isn't on my menu. :earsboy:

* Of course this is the reason I have such a big belt.;)

I do EMH AM but not happily. I am not a morning person and I often stay late for EMH PM. But I do get a lot done in the first hour in the AM. More than the EMH PM for sure. I never seem to find those walk on attractions that everyone talks about. At least not headliners like 7DMT, or Space Mountain.

We extra magic hours in the morning. My husband gets up early every single day. He never sleeps in. And, at Disney, I can get up early. So morning hours it is. If only to have fewer people in the park. Most of the time I have fastpasses for the headliners, so the first hour is spent on secondary rides with no line.

Evening hours at MK are great because we can actually arrive late and stay late. We tend to stay at the GF, so it is easy to get to and to get home.

Unfortunately, those "later it gets" nights are few and far between. MK regularly closes at 10:00 or before now, so the two hour late EMH just isn't that late anymore.

Sorry that the OP had some bad luck.
We love AM EMH.
We're the same way. Even without setting our alarms, we are up around 6:00 in the morning so no reason for us not to take advantage of morning EMH. I love the lower crowds that rope drop awards and EMH are even less crowded. There are many times that we will do a park for morning EMH, head back to the room around 1 or 2 for a break, and then hit a less crowded park that evening. Evening EMH? Forget it. I like to be in bed by 10:00 at the latest.

I normally love EMH. Especially evening ones. Last week, MK only had one night that it was open until midnight and it was a madhouse. We tried two rides around 11:00 and gave up. Normally it thins out by then but I guess everyone had the same idea. The Confectionary made everything better to my kids. :)

I felt like magic hours during our recent trip were very busy. I'm wondering if parks closing earlier then normal is part of the issue. In the past, with late night closings and more night time magic hours, I think people were up late and unable to get moving in the morning. Now with all parks closing early, and a decrease in magic hours, people are going to bed earlier and flocking to the morning magic hours. I also thought the night time magic hours were very busy compared to past trips.

First day of F&W---it's gonna be a flippin ZOO no matter what time you go in.

We aren't rope drop people so EMH in the AM is a never, ever for us :duck:

Was at EMH @ Epcot today. Got through all the check points by 8:10 and had finished test track & soarin' by 9:15am. After a quick stop@ Starbucks, we were on our way to AK.
We were happy to accomplish that.

While we prefer the PM EMH, we also enjoy the AM EMH. The one time we were bummed was when we chose TT instead of Soarin'. TT broke down, and we kept getting the false hope of "just a few more minutes, folks." Stood in that line for 30 minutes before we gave up. Lesson learned - always go with Soarin'! :) On a side note - this will be our first time ever for F&W, while I expect it to be busy, I can't wait!!!!

We don't find Epcot morning EMH to be beneficial because we stay at the BC and enter through the IG. The main gate crowd beats us to TT or Soarin' every time. Now we book an 8:00 AM breakfast at GG on a morning where Epcot opens at 9 and we can get on Soarin or at least get in line for TT before the main gate crowd.

We used to LOVE morning EMHs at AK before Pandora.. there was hardly anyone there... now I'm sure it's probably crazy. We also find morning EMHs to be beneficial at MK.

Coupled with my having never been a morning person was my being on California time - I don't think I've ever once even made rope drop much less any early morning time.

My friend and I figured we'd take advantage of evening EMH in MK, during our visit this past spring, to get dinner and then see the fireworks, and a couple of other things, at a leisurely pace. We were informed the only 2 places to eat that were open during EMH were Cosmic Ray's and Casey's Corner. We chose Casey's because it was closer to the fireworks, and spent the 2 hours EMH waiting on line in Casey's getting our dinner. We caught glimses of the fireworks here and there, but by the time we were done getting our order and eating, it was time to go and join the crowds at the bus stop. Total waste of 2 hours, never again!

Yes, you can enter the WS as far as Norway on that side, and FEA is open, as is Akershus for those with breakfast reservations. You can also actually enter the WS from the other side too and go as far as France, because there is a place to get breakfast in France that opens early. This is more convenient from the International Gateway, and you can't proceed in that direction toward Norway and Frozen (you have to go back around the other way). Everything else in WS is closed until 11 AM.
Just curious...why don't they open WS until 11am? I've always wondered.
