2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 31, 2017 - November 13, 2017

If you are sharing, I'd guess about 5 dishes before you got full. My son and I do about 3, he has a larger appetite than I do and we rarely finish every sample we buy.

Seriously??? Waaaaaaaa! I have 18 items I want to try, using them for lunch and dinner.

I go to F&G with my son and usually F&W solo, I try to get something from every booth and eat all my meals except breakfast at F&W. Last year I really struggled over the course of 5 days to get every booth in and had to cheat and do drinks at a couple of them and only ate a bite or two from some of them. Some of the offerings can be just two or three bites and some can be a little bigger. If you are sharing it's a little easier but I have a very small appetite. Thankfully I really don't mind just taking a bite or two then moving on.

I think there's more merch than the Figment stuff, but it's very confusing. I saw a Remy-themed mug in one of the previews that looked great but I haven't seen it in subsequent photos. I'll try not to worry about it till I get there.
I SO hope they have more than just the Figment themed stuff this year. I was looking forward to some Remy stuff as well after seeing him in the 2017 logo work-ups. Nothing against the cute dragon but having never ridden that imagination ride no one in my family is remotely interested in Figment themed anything (and we love our Disney merchandise) and I don't think we will be even after riding it.

Trying to plan our visit to the F&W Festival and curious what is an estimate of the number of dishes two people could share (two adults with fairly large appetites but not insanely huge appetites). I know this question is extremely variable by person but even a vague idea would be helpful. Can we assume 5 dishes? 10 dishes? 15 dishes? TIA
Depends how you pace yourself and how much time you have. My BFF and I shared at least 15 dishes, probably closer to 25 items total if drinks are included on our first day when we tried to do F&W in 1.5 days. We needed lots of breaks though and constantly felt stuffed. Don't recommend it. If you have multiple days to enjoy the festival splitting 10 dishes or so would probably leave you happy. No way is 5 going to cut it!! These dishes are 1-4 bites each depending on the dish.

Any idea what is usually excluded if you purchase the tasting sampler? (https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/epcot/food-wine-festival-tasting-sampler/)

I think it may be good value for my wife and I to use towards beer/wine/cocktails, and then we can pay out of pocket for most food items. If there's a lot of things excluded, it may not be worth the trouble?

Usually the exclusions are all champagnes/sparkling wines at the Champagne & Dessert booth, any flights at all booths (though folks were intermittently able to use the entitlements for flights during the first days of the festival last year) and the cheese palette. Basically if it sounds like too good of a deal to be true, it probably is.

Last year I did the math based on the 16 item sampler and made a spreadsheet of drinks I wanted to try with the sampler entitlements. Many of these options are not returning and these are the 2016 prices, but here's what I came up with last year that would still be a "good deal" with the $65 + tax price tag this year (I assumed tax of 6.5%, someone correct me if I am wrong). I came up with $8.65 for each entitlement tab.

Brazil Frozen Caipirinha $10.50
China Ritzy Lychee $10.50
China Kung Fu Punch $8.75
China Happy Peach $8.75
France La Passion martini slush $10.75
Ireland Pumpkin Chai with Caramel Vodka $9.50
Islands of the Caribbean Frozen Mojito $9.50
Italy Prosecco $9.00
Italy Limoncello margarita $10.00
Mexico Mezcal Pineapple Margarita $9.00
Mexico Jalapeno Margarita $9.75
Poland Frozen Szarlotka Apple Pie $9.50
Scotland Citrus Thistle $9.50
America Frozen orange spiked tea $9.50 (fwiw I thought this was gross)
South Korea Soju fruit Slushy $9.50

The prices have not been released yet this year but they tend to run anywhere from $5 to around $7.50. Not sure what you are asking about the lanyard and GC. The GC that goes around your wrist is just that, a gift card but it does make it a little easier to pay for things instead of digging for money, the same for the $200 lanyard. There is a coupon thing you can buy but I'm not sure how much it costs and it seems to only pay for itself if you are ordering the high price drinks.

Sorry, all of this is getting confusing!

So the GC & lanyard don't have any discount value? You pay for them & get just that amount?

The coupon thing you pay upfront for & you may get an extra value based on what you purchase, correct? Is this it? https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/events-tours/epcot/food-wine-festival-tasting-sampler/ If so, you get 8 items for $65 so the price would need to be $8.125 or more per item for it to make sense.

Don't forget tax on the sampler price.

Yes it is confusing and not for the faint of heart!

Has anyone seen what the passholder gift will be for this year? ***edit: nevermind, I see the buttons are the gift this year. That is a bit disappointing.

I can't wait to see the new Lanyard with $200 GC purchase. We got lone last year and it was cool. The pin that came with it was Massive and the lanyard was a cool 20th F&W anniversary souvenir. We arrive 2 weeks from today and the excitement is starting to build. Now I can't wait for the pictures to start trickling in of the prices because knowing how broke I will be in 3 weeks is all part of the fun! ;)
