Got to Epcot at 9:30 and Test Track was down. Disappointing because we only came for Test Track and Soarin. While we were walking away from Test Track they made the announcement for a "soft opening" at Mission Space. Walked over got a launch ticket for orange Test Track reopened pretty much right after and we were able to walk on! I've never done Mission Space before but it was pretty good! They do thier best to dissuade you tho... tons of warnings and options to change your mind. By the time it was our turn we were all worried about getting sick :crazy2: we were all fine!

Yeah, I think it was more "Extreme" when it first opened - not so much anymore. I've ridden it 7 times in a row before haha. I would love to hear from someone how it compares to the old version and whether or not they updated the video!! MS is one of my favorites!

Pre-show and ride videos are updated.

Is there any more room than there used to be? Was such a cramped space before

I'll miss Gary Sinise's pre-show. I just watched the new one on YouTube, Gina Torres is a very good actress, but she gave a really bad performance there I think. She is way too chipper and trying to excite the crowd, Gary's show was more "fighter pilot cool", had a different vibe to it. I think the original one fits the tone of the attraction better. Oh well, looking forward to the new ride!

I just watched the videos of the green and Orange side. Orange hasn't changed much at all, if any. Green is completely different. I'm not sure if I am happy about that. It struck me as a Soarin on steroids. Even the elevation didn't seem to be high enough to be a space orbit, but, what do I know... I've never been to space.

As for replacing Gary Sinise.. the question strikes me as why? The wording appears to be exactly the same. Perhaps it was because the on ride narration is different and they could get Sinise to do a voice over. Don't know, but, I guess I'm going to have to ride it to find out how it feels. However, like it said... Orange seems the same as before. I may have to do it again because I liked going to Mars.

Noooooo I loved Gary Sinese! He made the ride!

Interested to see what it's like now though. It's almost like a new ride and I'm glad we have a FP for it!

I rode the extreme version (I guess that's the orange one) some years ago. It was ok but I was so busy concentrating on not getting sick I didn't really enjoy it much (but I didn't get sick.) Never tried the tame version thinking that if it was less interesting than the extreme version that it probably isn't worth bothering with. My question is: On the green version do you get any sort of sensation of movement at all, or is it basically just looking at the screen and pushing the buttons?

Going to ride tomorrow. Will report back on both versions. I have always loved the orange, but have also ridden the old green side!

I've done both, Ron, prefer the green version. The green would be sort of like Star Tours. There is all the movement of the orange, except the spinning. You do feel some 'G-forces' since the capsules roll backward some during 'takeoff', and put some weight on your back. It's good. After riding the orange when it first came out, I felt a bit weird getting off. Not sick, not lightheaded, just weird for maybe 5 minutes. :confused3 At my stage of the game, I don't need to have weird feelings getting off any ride. :)
