Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Check in was available yesterday on my Disney Exp. but I only had the option 1(ground, upper, lower) and option 2 (ground, lower). Nothing else. Are those my only options? Club level standard view is what I books. I requested a king bed when I spoke to DSS.

The options during Online Check In are very limited and sometimes don't make sense. It's why we always skip that section during Online Check In. We always phone in our requests.

We have a car for holiday and I have never used Uber. When on holiday we have a few special meals planned - Like one at the California Grill, we would definitely use the Minnie Van for the return back to the hotel.

Hey all... New to the boards but just planned out and reserved our vacation ( birthday / late honeymoon )! We will be staying at the Yacht Club from Jan28-Feb 1st 2018.. Looks like a great place. This will be our first experience staying on property and heck will be my first time back to WDW in about 20 years. I do have a couple of questions ... I have scoured the boards and found a lot of conflicting info so I hope you will have patience if these have been asked a million times.

1) Amazon Prime now.. to Yacht Club, is there a fee ? (besides the Amazon one )
2) In-Room experiences ( celebrations ) I have tentatively ordered / scheduled one (From Mickey and Minnie with love) Are they worth it? I really haven't seen many pictures of how they lay out the room. I know they are expensive but the memory seems worth it if it makes my wife happy.

Thanks! I am really stupid excited about this trip maybe more than a 45yo guy should be.. but oh well.

That floor is the top floor...those options make no sense. If you have more specific requests like say, close to lounge etc. you need to call it in or note it in an email to DSS.

I'm looking at rooms in the Yacht Club that are close to the lobby using touring plans. It looks to me that the closest rooms are on the 1st floor, and when they show it picture, it doesn't look like these rooms have patios outside their room. Do the 1st floor rooms have patios or something similar to a balcony?

Thanks

60 days today, we made our Fastpass+ selections. We have our tickets to MNSSHP. I'm really nervous about staying at the BC because we LOVE the YC so much. I love the new decor of the YC better than the BC but they don not have any rooms available for the YC. I have faith I will still love the Y&BC the same but everytime we try somewhere new it does not compare to our love of the YC.

This is a long shot I suppose ....

Is it too much to hope for that my magic band will open the BC secret entrance if I am staying at the Yacht club? I'm pretty sure I can get out of the door, but I loved being able to get into the air-conditioned BC as soon as possible on the walk back from Epcot during mid-day heat when we stayed at BC a few years ago. A girl can hope that since they're 'sister' resorts ... , right?

Ha!!!! I was just telling my BFF about the secret entrance and came here to copy the instructions for her. She is staying at the BC for the first time next week. I am so excited for her!

ETA:

Based on the response below from Tess, it appears that the door may be locked now.

If someone is there now or soon who is staying at the YC, if you are walking by and have the time could you check to see if that door is locked for outside visitors and if your YC MB will open it.

Thanks!!!

So we were the first people to use Minnie Van number 12. Joe was our driver to AK, he dropped us off in the car park at the taxi drop off point. Joe warned us that once he hit the 5mph sign he would have to obey it, much to the annoyance of cars behind us:teeth:
It's good to know that all drivers are Cast Members and Joe had been with Disney for 10 years and it was the hardest thing him keeping it a secret for 6 weeks!!
Two car seats are in the car which should make it a good choice for families with smaller children compared to regular Uber. Overall would I use it at $20? For sure I would, but we never use über at home and it comparible with Mears but this is Disney and i feel safe knowing its Disney ::yes::

As far as I know, your magic band is not needed to get in though that entrance, at least during most hours. Perhaps after hours it is an issue. So it doesn't matter if you are staying at the YC, BC or somewhere else.

Does anyone know if they have started locking the doors and requiring MB access?

If someone is there now or soon and is using the exit or entrance, can you check to see if that door is locked for outside visitors.

Thanks!!!

Dee--when we were there in May, that door was locked all the time--morning, noon and night. We were at BCV and could open it with our MB. I have no idea if a YC band will do likewise. We were quite surprised to find it locked--never had been before. :confused3

OK. Thanks!!! I have never found it locked, so I appreciate your info. I'll edit my response.

This is awesome! We'll have our car in November, but we won't in January. If it's still around we will use it!

Did you call for it or was it just there at your resort?

Ninja Mom, I like your thinking.

My cabana boys are Nathan Fillion, Bruce Campbell, Daniel Craig, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Bridges, Christoph Waltz, and Mads Mikkelsen - one for each day of the week, so they get the rest of the days off to have fun at WDW (Nate, Jeff, and Bruce seem like dudes who'd enjoy WDW a lot). The cabana boys are in charge of shoulder rubs, rocking the hammock I plan on installing in the cabana, putting sunscreen on my back, and making sure I have a never-ending loop of vintage Italian funk/jazz/lounge music to accompany things. Tom Servo will be in charge of fetching food and beverage; I'll make sure his batteries are charged for numerous trips into Epcot for snacks from WS. The cabana will have a teleportation machine to spare my lazy butt from having to walk to the top of the water slide. I plan on stealing your water cannon idea but will also have Jason Momoa or someone similarly attractive-but-terrifying on hand to scowl at anyone who takes umbrage about my squirting water at little Snotleigh because she wouldn't stop singing "Let It Go." I will also have a big stack of trashy novels on hand to read whilst I lounge in the hammock and eat cannoli while a cabana boy rubs my shoulders. Frankly I don't see the need to even go into the parks.

Sometimes it becomes abundantly clear that I'm in the minority here. I had visions of Rosamund Pike, Jennifer Lawrence, and Katie Perry (pre-demonic-possession).

So after months of planning our first trip during F&W, first time staying at a deluxe and first time we bring our 3.5 year old son to WDW, my husband gets a hernia. :worried: It is a small hernia but our trip is scheduled for 4 weeks after his surgery. He says we are still going but I am worried he'll be miserable and/or hurt himself more. I've looked for alternate dates but nothing shows up at YC, BC or BWI. I'm going to talk to his doctor about us possibly going but I wanted to see if anyone had any experience with something like this. I don't want to reschedule but him healing is obviously more important than a week at WDW.
