Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Question about the arcade at YC/BC. Is there one or 2? Is it cash only?

Ooh, I want to know about the arcade too. My kid likes the games, and sometimes I don't mind a skee-ball or air hockey break.

Im going to subscribe to TP around the 1 year to wait mark (going end of aug 2018). It appears they have a room request feature. Have you guys tried this and how did it work? We have just a standard view room booked. Does anyone have a recommendation for what room to request for standard view? A balcony would be great but I understand if those are only for the higher end rooms.
I made a Touring Plans request for Room #3725 or something like that and through the hotel I requested full balcony and higher floor. I got room #3723, standard view, full balcony, 2 queen beds and daybed, facing pool and lake. It was perfect!! Good luck and have a wonderful vacation.

Only 1, and it is basically between the 2 resorts. Don't think cash only - when we were there last (2 years ago) there was a machine where you could purchase a card with credits (this is all hazy but I think that was the case) that you used to play games. Our kids would spend a ton of time in the arcade.

Thank you!!!! I didn't want to sound snooty announcing I was club level!

Ha! Reminds me of our trip in 2010. My family got onto the elevator with a teenage girl. We touched our Key to the World card to activate the trip to the 5th floor. As she exited on the 3rd floor, she said "Enjoy your club level" in a really sarcastic tone. :rolleyes1

That is our family joke now, whenever we or someone else activates the 5th floor button.

I have a confession to make. I cheated on you all last night.

We're still booked at BC for our December and May trips, but I...I...I booked a room at the Poly for December 2018.

There, I said it.

It happens!!!

I have a one night stay in October at the Poly with my girlfriends following a few days at SSR. It will be interesting trying something new and actually my first time staying in the villas.

:thumbsup2

But I did manage to get the room view pictures ready to post. View attachment 253634

Once again, thanks for the spectacular pictures and descriptions!

:goodvibes

Hi Dee, cast rates for 2018 came out today, so I couldn't resist and booked the Beach Club!!! We will be there April 24th to May 1st. I booked a standard room and plan on spending time at the pool and Epcot. Sooooo excited. I have been calling every day for these rates and finally today was a success.

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the list.

:woohoo:

Quick question for you BC vets. I've noticed the world showcase area of Epcot opens later than the main gates to the north area. My family and I are staying late August 2018 (FYI if it matters). If we want to rope drop Epcot can we still use the entrance next to Beach Club? or do we have to make our way around to the front entrance? Thanks!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15.

:cool1:

As other posters have mentioned, there are standard rooms within the standard view category that have full balconies so you should request that.

And yes, you may get to EPCOT through the International Gateway as soon as EP opens, even if most of the World Showcase is not open yet. The bakery in France, to the right, will be open for breakfast and currently Norway is open earlier than 11 for Frozen Ever After.

I can't believe it's been two months since our trip...I hate when life gets in the way of my fun. I haven't read back too far so sorry if I'm repeating information. I loved the new YC rooms. The floor is OK but would be nicer if it was laminate like the GF has in the vanity area instead of vinyl. It very much looks like a New England YC. The bed was a bit high for me being that I am vertically challenged...could have used a stool to get into it. :rotfl: Love the door that closes off the vanity area, I get up early and take a shower and didn't have to worry about waking up DH with lights or the sound of the hair dryer. We had bathrobes and slippers in the closet, but the slippers were huge...didn't even try them on. The refrigerator was very small not deep at all. You can barely get a can of soda in it, you would have to remove shelves and get creative to get anything larger in there. The safe was nice with enough room for a large tablet or laptop. We had a king room with a walk in shower and an awesome view of the lake. :cloud9:

Thank you so much for the review of your stay!!!

Do you remember the room number?

:goodvibes

Firstly I apologize for being MIA, on and off the boards, things here have been crazy busy with having the baby in December, volunteer commitments etc. I am back and going to try to commit to a trip report for our upcoming trip...its been a tough year for us and our friends that we are going with, sunken treasures for all!!

Lots has been happening on here, I am so sorry I have missed it, and send my condolences to you Dea and HockeyMom's Family, she will be missed.

We are doing the Happy Dance as we are within single digits of our trip now, and we managed to get a passholder discount for our last two nights and switch over to BC from Poly. So excited to stay at our second home and not have to switch resorts!

Thank you for your words of sympathy.

Gosh, no apologies needed for living your life and putting us on hold. We'll wait for you! Well, we actually won't, this place moves fast, but we will be here when you are able to read and participate.

::yes::

Hey Dee, we switched resorts for Oct we will now be of ll places the BC lol big change no hurry to change it

Got it!

:thumbsup2

Thanks for the arcade info. I was wondering if the kids could use their magic bands to buy the cards. Guess I should make sure they have some cash with them. dh and I will be having a date at the yachstman while they have a kids night on their own (teens). Figure the arcade might be part of it.

We are doing a dessert party in Epcot on Aug 23rd for the fireworks, which includes a ride on Soarin afterwards. MK has evening EMHs that night and is the only nighttime EMH for our trip. I have never done one and I know the girls want to go. It's set for 10 pm to 12 am. Two questions:

1. Can we get the monorail from Epcot that late? If not, what's the best way to get there?
2. What are the chances of those hours being extended?

Epcot is open until 9pm that night and the monorail to MK should run for an hour after park close, so you should be able to use the monorail to get to MK. Once they shut down the monorail they will run buses to MK. :)

I don't think anyone can answer question #2. Disney will change park hours on the very same day, so there is no telling what they will do. :)

I'm agreeing with the sentiment of not announcing we are CL. However...I'm getting to be old enough where I just don't care what others think anymore. Sure I don't want to rub it in but I also feel zero need to justify how we spend our time or money.

What I'm saying is I can't wait for our elevator trip to the 5th floor! LOL

Staying at the Yacht Club for the first time in November - so very excited!!! We will be arriving by car, can anyone tell me if it is easy to work out where we need to park and if it is easy to carry our suitcases etc from there? Thanks

I just went to the front of the Yacht Club and saw this :worship:So cool. Right now it's in testing. If it's at the resort it will take you wherever you want to go within WDW for free (I'm sure that's what she said) It will not return you back to your resort at the moment. This test is going on for a few weeks to see where people want to go. After that you can download the app and use it just like uber.

From all I've read, it's NOT free. It's $20 per ride (not per passenger)...now, maybe for a bit, they will do it for free just to get a feel for interest, but my cynical nature says probably not.

I'm with you 100%!!! :yay:

Curious about the Minnie ride and going to MK...where will it drop you?
