The Last Trip: An (Eastern) Fantasy Food Adventure-Bonus Feature, Pam & Her Mom Pt 2 Sept 17 the end

Records skip. You scoot. Practically the same.

Not sure I'm following you, but oh well.....

Well, that explains it. I thought maybe you'd learned that on some studio tour.... I hadn't realized the studio came to you!

Yeah and just the other day, we were on our way to band and drove through downtown and there was a whole film crew on one of the corners. You can't miss 'em, They have big white trailers for all the gear and stuff, and then there's sound and lighting equipment all over the place. I tried to take a picture on my phone but it didn't come out, and Fran wasn't willing to go back and give me a second chance.

I may have seen it... a few times...

When I went to Bubba Gump Shrimp, while I was waiting for my dinner, the waiter asked if I wanted to play a trivia game.
Questions like "Name all the presidents he meets" or "How many bottles of Dr. Pepper did he drink" (15 by the way).
I got them all right.

I think they got rid of the one we had down near the aquarium. I don't get to that part of town very often any more. Although we were there yesterday to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.

Nice perk! I really am impressed.

Though we don't use it often, I could see it being great for families. We would use it more if Fran could figure out how to use it.

I like mine with mustard, ketchup, relish, pickles, onions (fried or raw depending on my mood)

Too much stuff. I'm a mustard and onions girl.

I actually owned one for a brief shining moment.
Brought home, charged it, filled it.... and it didn't work.
Back to the store it went.

I have no use for fancy kitchen gadgets. Fran got me a blow torch, still haven't tried it.

Too early! Go back to bed!

I'm glad you listened.

I'm not silly! (Too much)

No. No it doesn't.

Moist.

More like drenched.

To which Mickey replied. "What?"

::yes:: Would fit right in on a POTC movie.

I was thinking it would make a good movie set.

Jerk storm. Never go there again.

Or stay on the ship.

What were you doing up so early?

I think you know now.

Yes I did!

Quite the change from the day before.

Yes, and I don't know why she was so ancy.

Could you not simply ask for two cups of coffee?
Or is it just easier to say yes when the waiter asks if you both want coffee?

The best would be ask for a bigger cup, but since they don't have them, it's just more simple to both answer yes. Then I just drink hers when mine is gone.

Actually, it looks pretty big.

I'm glad I wasn't mistaken in my assesment.

This I would never do.
You try to take half my Bennie and you're gonna pull away a hand with a fork sticking out of it.

That's fine. I'd order my own and then offer you the third piece that I couldn't finish.

 Oh, well. Guess they were just excited.
Some folk seem to think that they're conversations are so scintillating that everyone will want to hear.

Either that or they were oblivious to the rest of the people in the world.

See? Scintillating.

o_O :listen:

Probably a good call for your own mental health.

Yes it was.

Thank goodness you had a guide!!!!

I know. I'm not sure we could have found our bus 20 yads from the port exit.

I got this.

I'm going to say.... on an excursion.

Yes! Rocked that one.

Good job! How intuitive of you!

Sounds like Fran was excited about the excursion :) looking forward to hearing what it was :)

I don't think she was all that excited. I want to say she doesn't like to be late, but that wasn't it either.

Those people would have annoyed us too. I have very little patience for annoying people.

There was this whole drama where the daughter took the scooter up to Cabanas to bring back breakfast for them and they were afraid she wouldn't make it back. Plus you can't take the food off the ship with you, so they couldn't even finish what she risked being late to bring back. And this all played out rather publicly.

Mom does that with coffee too, those coffee cups are sooooo small.

I know! Perhaps they are trying to save on coffee for those who don't finish their entire cup. I go through three or four cups!

I am totally opposite of you with the ocean. If I see water I have such an itch to be swimming! I love love love the water

I don't like the unevenness of the sand and how it squishes through your toes. Plus it's usually not heated!

That looked like a heavy shower coming your way this morning.
Breakfast looked delicious. Now I'm hungry!

It was very heavy for less than 10 minutes.

Shame about those people from Missoura. Hope you managed to avoid them.
Look forward to seeing where you got to. Awesome there was an excursion that Fran could go to.

Yeah, annoying people are just that. Annoying.

Well, that really isn't a bad night's sleep for you on a cruise.

I got eight hours, so I can't complain.

Wow! I don't know what this excursion was, but Fran must have really been excited about it. Isn't it usually the other way around with you trying to prod her out the door?

I'm not sure why she was so hot to go, she wasn't that excited about the excursion, maybe she was just afraid that we'd get left behind.

Ahhh... life is good.

Everything is better with bacon.

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl: That'll do it.

::yes:: Constant yammering is never a plus.

Not sure I'm following you, but oh well.....

Records skip... play on words of skipping down the street. You scoot. i.e. scooter.

Too much stuff. I'm a mustard and onions girl.

Nice thing about hot dogs. You can have 'em any darned way you want.

I have no use for fancy kitchen gadgets. Fran got me a blow torch, still haven't tried it.

I have one of those two. Haven't used it other than the one time when I tried (tried being the operative word) to make creme brulé.

I'm not silly! (Too much)

But you're up early again right now!

Yes, and I don't know why she was so ancy.

I live with 3 women (6 females counting the dogs and the guinea pig) and have learned to just move away when one is antsy.

The best would be ask for a bigger cup, but since they don't have them, it's just more simple to both answer yes. Then I just drink hers when mine is gone.

Thought so.

That's fine. I'd order my own and then offer you the third piece that I couldn't finish.

Woot! All right!!

Either that or they were oblivious to the rest of the people in the world.

::yes::

Good job! How intuitive of you!

I am the man!!!

I'm so sorry, Alison. I've fallen very behind everywhere on here and feel badly. Just a very busy season of life right now .I have a few days off now, though and really hope to bet caught back up and get my own threads under control again. The house is pretty quiet right now, so I will start the long process of catching up and commenting. You have a couple of very nice updates here for me to read. Which I just did. ;)

Hey! I've seen that smiling face before with one of those in hand just recently! :) Lovely.

Love this photo! So classy!

Adore the lighting on this one especially, though.

I was really regretting having eaten lunch at the point.

Ugh! I SO hate when that happens. You plan for and look forward to something like that, and it's wrecked with prior decisions. Sorry it was less than you'd hoped it'd be.

I think I was in bed with a food coma at 9PM.

I should say so!

Oh boy... that looks like quite a squall. Yikes!

I LOVE this photo! The colors are amazing! I love the curving lines in it too!

We went up to D-Lounge and checked in for our excursion. We were there plenty early so we sat and played with our tablets while waiting. It was there that we encountered the most stupid and obnoxious ladies, mother, daughter and her about 10ish year old son. I can't even explain what made them so annoying, probably the fact that they never shut up. They were from Missoura, I know because they kept comparing everything. “Well we don't have ______ like that in Missoura.” But I don't think these two had ever set foot outside their hometown much less their own state. They were newbie cruisers, and I have no problem with that, but their conversations were so loud and so dumb, I just wanted to scream “STAWP!!!!”. At one point they argued over whether or not the grandma had her KTTW card. After about 10 minutes of saying she didn't her daughter found it in her wallet and showed it to her. She replied, “Well that's not what I called it, they told me it was called something else.” We made a note to avoid them once at our excursion destination.

Decorum. Hard to find these days. :sad2:

See, I live in Missouree. Typically (gross generalization alert) those who live in Missoura are not terribly worldly and it is not uncommon to find them in these types of annoying situations.

Loving your report. Remy looks like such an amazing experience. I'd love to try it sometime.

Records skip... play on words of skipping down the street. You scoot. i.e. scooter.

Ah, I've had a rough 10 days (heavy duty moving/cleaning and such) with a few days of rigorous fun mixed in. My body and mind are not firing on all cylinders.

I have seen the trailers, we do get film crews here on rare occasions, but I have yet to see the "gear and stuff".

It's actually more annoying than exciting. They get in the way, cause traffic and general upset.

How did you like it?

I thought it was awesome. I was engaged throughout the entire movie. There wasn't any point where my mind was wandering. The plot line was believable (in a world where a genetically engineered raccoon pilots spacecraft and a tree based creature with a three word vocabulary is sentient). There were also exploding space helicopters!

I thoroughly enjoyed it, and Kurt Russell was certainly a plus! Also with my plans for Sunday (yesterday), that education was necessary.

I have one of those two. Haven't used it other than the one time when I tried (tried being the operative word) to make creme brulé.

See I haven't even tried to make creme brulé. I don't even know what happened to it in the move.

But you're up early again right now!

But I went back to sleep.

I live with 3 women (6 females counting the dogs and the guinea pig) and have learned to just move away when one is antsy.

I only live with one human female and I step back when she gets antsy!

I am the man!!!

You is da man! Care to guess where the excursion goes?

I'm so sorry, Alison. I've fallen very behind everywhere on here and feel badly. No worries. I'm woefully behind as well. Once this weekend is over I'm hoping things slow down a bit.

Hey! I've seen that smiling face before with one of those in hand just recently! :) Lovely.

Thank you! I feel like I need a relaxing evening with one of those in hand, maybe two!

Love this photo! So classy!

I loved this restaurant! Can't wait to go back!

Adore the lighting on this one especially, though.

I didn't even notice that, but it is nice, now that you mention it!

Ugh! I SO hate when that happens. You plan for and look forward to something like that, and it's wrecked with prior decisions. Sorry it was less than you'd hoped it'd be.

It's taught me a big lesson, I would t make that mistake again.

Oh boy... that looks like quite a squall. Yikes!

At least it passed quickly.

I LOVE this photo! The colors are amazing! I love the curving lines in it too!

I guess I did capture part of the surise, just not the orb!

Decorum. Hard to find these days. :sad2:

Yes, that is unfortunate.

I saw it last night too. And actually really enjoyed it. Action with a lot of shooting isn't my normal go-to genre, but I love the storyline of loyalty, and well, I now need a baby groot.

But there is no more baby groot. Or don't tell me you left before the absolute end of the movie?

LOVED baby Groot!!!!

You did see the scene towards the end of the credits, right? That being said, baby Groot was incredibly cute!

See, I live in Missouree. Typically (gross generalization alert) those who live in Missoura are not terribly worldly and it is not uncommon to find them in these types of annoying situations.

I've met folks from there before, and I have no problem with folks who arent terribly worldly. In fact I sometimes enjoy seeing the world through innocent eyes, especially when they are curious. These two were just so annoying. I was glad my interaction with them was limited to the drive to and from the excursion.

Loving your report. Remy looks like such an amazing experience. I'd love to try it sometime.

Thank you! Remy is definitely amazing and I'm so glad I have a chance to do it again. I hope you get to do it someday.

I know. The odd time I've seen the trailers, traffic's been slowed down as a result.

I thought it was awesome. I was engaged throughout the entire movie. There wasn't any point where my mind was wandering. Exploding space helicopters? I'm there!

Okay! Okay! You've convinced me to see it.

But I went back to sleep.

Smart girl. I was at work, so.... not so much.

I only live with one human female and I step back when she gets antsy!

Yes! And... no!

Hey! Use the
spoilers save lives... or at least movie endings
for stuff like that!
Guess I don't need to see the movie after all. Sheesh!

Not originally! ;)

Jill in CO

That's what I was trying to say!

Exploding space helicopters? I'm there!

Lots of them!

Glad you liked it. And...

And.....

Okay! Okay! You've convinced me to see it.

You really should....

Hey! Use the
spoilers save lives... or at least movie endings
for stuff like that!
Guess I don't need to see the movie after all. Sheesh!

I've never been able to figure out the spoiler alert button. Anyways I didn't spoil anything for you! All I've done is warned you not to leave when the credits start to roll! You have no idea what I was implying!

Also it has nothing to do with the actual movie....

I just realized that I forgot to post today’s Navigators!

We were loaded onto our bus and soon were on our way to our destination. I noticed immediately that the US VI are much more developed than the British VI. I could tell by the roads, curbs, the businesses, the strip malls, stop lights and everything else. Even the hairpin turns on the mountains were better cut into the mountainside. I bet a certain highway engineer would have a field day with roads here.

This was the best shot of the ship in port I was going to get for today. This driver didn’t seem to want to stop to accommodate me.

I didn’t realize it at the time, but we were almost to our destination.

Finally we arrived at our destination Coral World.

I checked out the nearby scenery while the driver unloaded the wheelchairs and scooters.

Upon entering the place we came upon a curious sign.

Fran had me take a close up of it.

We decided to start at the Caribbean Reef exhibit.

They had a lift for scooters, but I had to go up to the welcome desk to get someone to operate it.

There were all kinds of informative panels around the perimeter and we read all of them while looking at the fish in the tanks.

I spotted this Spiny Lobster hiding under the rocks.

I kept looking for the Moray eel to no avail.

After reading all the material, I got one of the workers to lower Fran on the lift and we went outside. We didn’t take advantage of this bar/cafe, you know free food on the ship. Besides it was barely 10AM and we had breakfast at 8:30.

We checked out the part where you could touch sea creatures but we passed.

Looking back at the entrance from the critter pool.

Next we went to see the shark pool.

[Continued in Next Post]

[Continued from Previous Post]

And then we found out why they had to have a sign about not feeding the iguanas.

We noticed this turtle pool. Later in the day we saw folks swimming with the turtles, I'm not sure how much I would want to do that.

There was a seal show going on that we didn’t know about, and as we went up to the Marine Gardens we just about got run over by those folks exiting the show. They had some Stingrays up there and we checked them out for a bit before going inside, bit I guess I didn't take any pictures. Inside this area they had tanks with all kinds of interesting creatures in there.

This little attraction was designed for kids. I had to kneel to get up in there and had a heck of a time getting myself positioned, but it was a cool view!

Yes there is a fish in there.

This one gave me the heebie jeebies.

They had other amphibians and reptiles, but the habitats were so dark, I only got pics of these turtles and frogs.

After leaving that exhibit we had a close encounter of the obnoxious people kind as we passed through the secondary gift shop. So I hightailed it out of there before I had to listen to any more stupidity.

Next we went to the Observatory Tower.

We had several Iguana encounters along the way.

They had a staircase that went down two stories to the ocean floor.

I went down while Fran waited.

On the first level down there was a tank with very large fish.

Down on the ocean floor.

There was one staircase for going down and another for going up.

[Continued in Next Post]

[Continued from Previous Post]

I felt like I was in a scene from Finding Nemo/Dory (BTW I still have never seen the end of that movie!)

I wondered if this school of fish would start spelling things….

This poor guy had something hanging from his/her mouth.

Then I went back up the stairs to look at the fish in the tank again.

And back up on land. It was very windy there!

By this point we'd seen pretty much everything that we wanted to see. There was a Lorikeet exhibit, but I'm not so much a bird person so we skipped it. As we made our way back up to the main level, we looked at the shark tank from underneath this time.

And had another little run in with our Iguana friends.

Fran has always wanted to do a Sea Trek or Snuba, so she wanted me to take a picture of the things that they have on offer here.

And yes, there are chickens on the US VI too!

We still had half an hour until our driver was supposed to come back, but there wasn't much we wanted to see so we went out front to wait.

Our driver was delayed by 20 minutes, but he arrived and loaded everyone quickly. The road going to and from Coral World was quite interesting. It reminds me of the alley behind our old apartment!

We were back to the cruise terminal by 1PM as promised.

I believe that riding on one of these boats was another option for an excursion, I remember reading something about a pirate ship.

We were pleased with what we did, it was educational and fun, plus we were back in time for lunch!

Sounds like a nice morning excursion! I hate paying for food when I can eat on board as well. Glad you guys found something that was accessible for Fran! You saw a lot of iguanas!!!!

Unless it is something that is highly recommended as a "don't miss" local foody place, I'm sticking with the ship. The food is probably safer and it doesn't cost! It was like every time we turned a corner there was another iguana and they were huge!

I think I'm caught up. :hyper:

Ok, we have to do Remy on our cruise. Amazing!

Has Jill convinced you to share a cabin in a little over a year? They don't have Remy on the Wonder.....just Palo (which isn't too shabby either!)
