True. Forgot about that part!
I imagine some people do that for friends/family staying off site/in room only. A 4 day park hopper ticket divided by 14 nights works out to be very cheap eating!!

That would be very cheap! Just as long as your friends aren't using all of your combined credits eating at Signature Places!!

I think he has been on the boards for many years, I do believe he has a CM as friend.
Well good information...I'm sure we will be talking about him next year and he will be a complete mystery just like "Black"!

We are getting so close!

While we wait... Does anyone have an opinion on the resorts I've narrowed down to. I have 4 people going on my trip (DD6). We are going for nine nights. This will be 3 of the 4 peoples first visit to Disney.

I have narrowed my options down to the following:
Beach Club
POR Royal Room
POR Preferred Room
POFQ Garden View (no free dining)
AOA Suite

For you Disney veterans... Which would you choose if cost wasn't a factor ? I'm so torn. The location of Beach Club looks fantastic. The charm and simplicity of POFQ is intriguing. The room size, 2 bathrooms and Disney Flair at AOA would sure be nice. POR kinda comes in last in my mind and I'm not completely sure why (Mostly the bus woes and size complaints I've heard).

So many decisions. I'm sure I'd enjoy them all having never been to Disney. I do have all my ADR's booked and we are pretty set there (BOG, CRT, Aker, 1900, Boma, Ohana, Beaches and Cream, Via Napoli, Yak)

Beach Club. I stayed at POR years ago and it was the worst resort I've ever stayed at.

Beach Club. If cost is not a factor, definitely Beach Club. Then AOA SUITE. I don't care for POR or POFQ at all

Hopefully it still covers AOA suites. We are checking in the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so hopefully that date is included too!

Never heard of that...what is it?
Basically pain in the sesamoid bones (ball of foot). The bones might be fractured as well. I learned all about the foot today. I'm glad Disney isn't until end of November because the pain can linger even after it heals!

Seeing as the credits would be on your room, you would have to be at all their meals to swipe your MB!

Except wouldn't they also get Magic Bands because they're on your Reservation? So you could potentially not give them their Magic Bands. I wonder if anyone has ever done that? Booked a cabin for 6 Disney Adults and then shared the FD credits with friends/family staying offsite.

Here's a question: I currently have a room at CBR with the $75 GC. If we have to modify for free dining, will we lose the gift card offer? What do you all think? I am really bummed about the QSDP instead of DDP, but can rationalize the $616 to upgrade 4 adults and 1 child if I'm getting $525 in gift cards back.

Especially when eating two character meals (1 Mickey for DS (infant), 1 princess for DD) would cost $386 and I could get 7 full TS meals for all of us for just 230 more.

I feel your pain! I've got tendonitis in my Achilles tendon. Just got done PT but can take as long as a year to heal....and I just had my opposite knee replaced. Going in July...hoping to be able to walk!

This has been discussed extensively here. Although no one knows 100% for sure, the general consensus is you will NOT lose the GCs since they are not technically a promotion, but an incentive to stay during the construction.

I'm pretty sure at least one of them is this guy.

Concensus is no, you wouldn't lose them. They are compensation not an "offer". If it was a $75 room discount, I imagine the answer would be no. Which makes me think they made it gift cards so you could add other offers (and also ensure the $75 you're "saving" can only be spent with Disney unlike savings from a room discount).

Forgot to mention that we are at POR too!
So we are definitely in the same boat! We are also a family of four Disney adults so the upgrade to the regular dining plan would cost us @$840. Still, better to get free quick service and upgrade than nothing at all if our dates aren't included. Sending you, and everyone on this board, a whole bunch of pixie dust!!!

Another vote for Beach Club! Awesome location, fabulous pool...
My second choice would be POFQ. I haven't stayed there but I've always wanted to. It's a smaller resort and looks like it would be quiet and not so croweded as it isn't included in FD.
I liked POR but I would not want the royal rooms, that would be my last choice.

Can someone tell me if this is possible? FYI, I currently am booked at Caribbean Beach for my trip and qualified for the gift card compensation.

Book a deluxe resort for the first day of the trip. Then move to Caribbean Beach resort for the rest of the vacation. This way, I would qualify for the full dining plan for the full trip without paying for a deluxe resort (other than day 1)?

EEEEK that sounds painful. Wishing you a speedy recovery so you can be at your best for Disney!
