Planning our 3rd WDW trip. We have used a TA on our last 2 trips and got FD both times. I am super nervous about planning myself and trying to get FD. I will be trying for 2 reservations, mine and my parents. My current reservation does not have a modify option so I am planning to create a brand new reservation for me and modifying my parents.

We have stayed at POR on our previous trips and absolutely love it. POR was excluded in the later dates last year so hoping that is not the case (nov 10-19 travel dates). My 2nd choice would be CBR but just read their food court will be down so not really sure how I feel about that. I didn't like the fact that Coronado is a convention center. I feel like I won't get the real Disney resort vibe.

Looking forward to being awake with all of you when FD is announced :D

which ever resort you choose you will need 4 reservations: RO 11/10-11/13 and FD 11/14 -11/19.

A cast member told me today "early May"

I'd be VERY surprised if it doesn't drop on the 24th. I posted about 80 pages back that my very reliable source told me that the reservation CM's were told last week that there would be mandatory overtime beginning on the 24th for a couple of weeks. The CM's all believe it must be for Free Dining. I'm going with that and what Black stated until proven wrong.

Isn't new rumour that DVA are going to be able to book on the 27th and the GP on the 1st? In which case, cast members would be doing over time next week.

I hope you are right! I'm going to drive my husband crazy if I tell him one more option for our trip.

Will they make any announcements that it will open before the day it actually opens or do we just keep checking on the 24th?

Well, after some emails back and forth with different TAs, they agreed that the gift card deal I have at CBR is the best I would be likely to get, and adding free dining would make it even sweeter. So fingers crossed I can get it on Monday!

Very pleased to have it confirmed that I'm in the best position value wise for what we want. :dancer:

I thought it was Monday. But, someone did say that one year it dropped on a Thursday. Guess we should never let out guard down. :bored:
Yes, I know it's Monday the 24th, but last year starting on Friday there was a "definite" heads up....dropping on Monday.

I heard the May 1st rumor yesterday :( Really hope that is wrong and it is the 24th. This waiting is killing me.

So the prices are - QSDP $48.19 for adults and $20.88 for kids (Ages 3-9)
DDP $69.35 for adults and $24.95 for kids (Ages 3-9)
DxDP $106.68 for adults and $38.75 for kids (Ages 3-9)

So to upgrade from QSDP to DDP it's $21.16 for adults / $4.07 child
To upgrade from QSDP to DxDP it's $58.49 for adults / $17.87 child

For 5 nights (1 adult and 1 child on DxDP) = 292.45 + $89.35 = $ 381.80 (30 TS meals)
(1 adult + 2 juniors on QSDP) = no extra cost (30 CS meals)

Either pay out of pocket for the odd child's CS meal or add in a Snack credit and get an extra side to make the meals last longer if you need more food. You should have plenty of snack credits since everyone gets 2 per night.
Thanks for refresh on this it does come in handy!

I could use some help/advice. This is my fourth time going in the last 5 years, I have always booked everything myself, although we did not go last year. We always go in September for 9 nights 10 days. And we have always stayed at CBR with FD. We are now looking at maybe going to Port Orleans Riverside or pop resort. Do you think they will be a huge price difference between the two ( counting on FD) we have never stayed at a value resort but if they are not offering the DD plan for mod resort though I think it might be better to stay at a value? We love CBR so much and I just don't want to be disappointed. My kids are 9 and 11. We usually do five days of parks and enjoying leisure time at the resort.

We also have to pay a horrible exchange rate as we are from Canada so every bit of savings helps. Thanks!
We love CBR too and stayed the last 2 years with FD. I have also stayed at pop 2x I like it too! I personally think pop would be better this trip for you. I feel like CBR is really going to be a mess! Pop has great bus service and a fun atmosphere. The only negatives is it's a little louder and only full size beds but I think it's a good choice especially if the mods only get QS!

What time of year were you there that it was too cold to swim? Historically, we go every year at the end of October which is really beautiful weather but this year we will be going in December. My daughter is a fish and would be devastated if she couldn't swim due to temps!
We went Thanksgiving week 2015...there were people and kids in the pool. It was too cold for us. We went in, very slowly and didn't stay in very long. Kids don't seem to mind things being a bit colder. I wouldn't worry.

Really, I haven't heard this one yet? Where did you hear this?

It was a couple of pages back. Also on the ******* chat. Can't remember which blog posted about it but it seemed a reputable source.

Edit: I remember now it was one of those website summary things that popped up when you searched but was a dead end with Goofy when you clicked on it. It was updated from the one earlier in the week everyone got all giddy about.

I'm thinking of possibly doing a late lunch early dinner in mk before mvmcp - what's better liberty tree or crystal plaza
ETA - crystal palace
We did Liberty tree after it was refurbished. The meal wasn't that impressive. We X'd it off of our must eat places. I really like Crystal Palace, lots of food choices and it has characters, if you have children.

We

We are having the same discussion at our house - we are booked in a standard room @ CBR & did so back pre-construction so we have the $75 gift card deal but we would obviously prefer FD. The cost analysis I've been doing has me seriously considering a value (we have never stayed at a value resort) or even *gasp* off property (again we've never done this)... I am curious now as DH & I talk & I start to think about it - can we "upgrade" our dining plan at arrival & then use the GCs to pay for the difference?
No it's been stated 48-72 hours depending where you look

Funny, but Dad posted a reply to someone saying that last year they were true black out dates and you only got fd for the dates within the offer period and it would probably be the case this year.

No one else have ever said that. No idea where he is getting his info??
Dad is wrong :) I find his website to be quite silly honestly....he shares a lot of inaccurate info and pushes his travel agency a LOT.
