Looking for a place to eat

our first night! DH is running the avengers half marathon in November. We arrive that Saturday and I wanted to make an ADR for that night. Is UVa Bar a good place? He says he wants their fish tacos. We have our 6 yo picky eater (Mac and cheese, grilled cheese) with us. Is it only an outside restaurant and what happnens if it rains!? thanks!

It sounds like you're trying to eat outside of the parks, correct? I've never eaten at UVA, only had a few drinks there so I apologize that I can't answer that question. I can say that my friend and I ate at Rainforest Cafe the night before the Tink Half and it worked well for us. Their menu is pretty varied. They have a kids menu so your daughter might enjoy it. Also all of the seating is inside so no worries about weather. I know we made a reservation and were seated a few minutes after we arrived. I recommend the bbq chicken wrap!

I think with a small, picky person, Rainforest Cafe is a good choice too! Should have something for everyone. Go online and check the menu :)

We ate at UVA once and we did not like it. The food was just ok and it was pretty pricey. With a 6 year old I would say go for RFC or even ESPN Zone!

You can view all the menus online. If it rains at Uva, you try not to get wet under the umbrellas, but it rarely rains.
Having a young picky eater, I think I'd be inclined to book Goofy's Kitchen or Rainforest Cafe.

I'm pretty sure I've seen a kids menu there, but maybe not during dinner. You could call and ask if they offer it then.

Thanks everybody! I am looking at la brea too. Trying to make the husband and the child happy! We have done rainforest cafe at WDW, and I'm not a huge fan. Was looking for something a bit more unique to DLR that we can't get elsewhere...thanks for all your suggestions!

La brea has great food , also Naples is popular too. Some people like Tortilla Jos , and while I love Uva Bar for drinks and food for your party I'm thinking may not be best. Storytellers has a great buffet as well as plated meals too.

Catal (which is the upstairs restaurant that shares the Uva Bar kitchen) may have the fish tacos. Their kids menu is great- everything from chicken tenders to pasta to steak. My picky eaters always find something they like. We usually have a reservation at Catal for the evening of our arrival. They have a second floor balcony patio that is wonderful, overlooking all the sights and sounds of DTD. And the adult menu is really top notch too.

We've been to UVA bar for lunch/snacks/cocktails before and it was totally fine, but we think the Catal menu is tastier.

We really like Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen. They have a kids menu with mac n cheese, pizza, burger, chicken.
